“Mia enjoyed her time with Katerine and Brian as always and particularly had fun playing with another dog was there for her visit. It's great that Mia gets to spend time with other dogs at Katerine's since Mia is an only-dog at home.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for my dogs! She took excellent care of them and gave me such peace of mind while I was away. She kept me updated throughout the day with pictures and little notes, which really reassured me that my pups were happy, safe, and well cared for. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in her hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and truly caring with animals.”

“Nyla and Corey took excellent care of my pets while I was visiting my brother in Alexandria. They were able to accommodate a last minute request due to an unforeseen work situation I was in. Corey was able to pick up my pups and bring them home which was a huge help, as I am not very familiar with the DC Metro area in addition to the horrific traffic. They sent me photos during the day to let me know how my dogs were doing, which was great as I am a helicopter pet parent. What began as a last minute doggy day care issue became a blessing as I will always utilize Corey and Nyla in the future when visiting my brother in Alexandria. I should also mention that I have a bossy female toy poodle Lu and a mini Aussie puppy Finn. They are both well trained but get super excited being around new people and Finn needs mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. They both came home to me happy and sleepy, I know that Finn would not be sleepy if he did not get the stimulation that he needs especially at this stage of his life. Thank you, Corey and Nyla! I appreciate you both so much and would give you more than 5 stars if I could! I will be a repeat customer, hopefully not last minute next time! Thanks again for caring for my babies!”

“Andrew is a first class dog professional. Flexible, reliable, and has a true knack with dogs. He helped us out on short notice and we could not be happier. You will be extremely happy that you chose Andrew. 5 stars—easy.”

“Isabelle and her parents were wonderful with my pup! They made my anxious pup feel safe and loved and he quickly warmed up to them. They sent photos and videos along the way to show his progress and I felt so comfortable with him in their care. They were quick to respond and overall the experience was very pleasant. Will absolutely be boarding with them again! Thanks so much!”

“Shayla is the absolute best! She is a true professional and so warm and awesome. We are incredibly grateful to have found her. We have 2 dogs (4 years & 10mos) who both adore her. Our puppy was incredibly shy but just a couple days with Shayla and she really came out of her shell. Shayla has such a natural gift for caring for animals and her house has an awesome yard and secure setup. We let her know about our concerns about our older dog being an escape artist and she walked us through the various measures in place to ensure his safety including she has even worked on threshold manners when him so he doesn’t walk through the door until he’s told it’s okay to. She also knows just how to manage my puppy’s anxiety and doesn’t see her anxiety as a hassle but is instead so empathetic and dedicated to building her confidence. She introduced our dogs to her dogs over time and in a way that didn’t stress my puppy out. She takes them on lots of walks and they come back from day care happy and tired!”

“Navy had an absolute ball with Helena & Nathan! They were very kind and communicative, and sent multiple updates of Navy! Looks like a great place and we’ll definitely be back! :)”

“My puppy had a great time with Abbey and her family! She went over there for daycare and will definitely be going back. She got to play with her pups and got all her energy out, she came home happy and pooped!”

“Priscilla was awesome! You can tell she really loves dogs and takes good care of them. Followed my instructions for care perfectly and was very good communicating about pickup and drop off because we had to adjust times.”

“Highly recommend Mai Anh (Bee) for dog daycare and boarding! She is the most attentive, caring and responsive dog sitter I’ve had. She loves pups like they’re her own and offers total peace of mind while sitting.”

“Loreen was really patient with Milo, who is a bit skittish around strangers. She took the time to get him acquainted with her house, yards and kids. She and the kids genuinely love Milo and she sent great pictures of his stay at her house. I’ll definitely use her again!”

“Guy was great with my Maltese she really enjoyed spending time with him and his dog Casey and the other dogs there. He has helped her significantly with her anxiety after the loss of her sister”

“Sush is cordial and very friendly. She welcomed our Keegan with love and affection. She has a beautiful and ample space for daycare and board. Totally reliable and trustworthy. 5 stars.”

“Sara was amazing with Blitz, and was available last minute to take care of him for the day. She sent pictures through out the day and was very responsive to texts. Next time I need a sitter I’ll definitely reach out to her. Blitz came back home happy and tired after a long play day”

“Reliable, friendly and flexible, Tehani is the consummate professional. Henry is genuinely excited when he sees her and comes home happy. Highly recommended”

“Emily took care of my 13 week puppy during the day as if it was her own. She made sure to follow habits I had implemented and was very loving and patient with my hyperactive min pin. You will not regret choosing Emily to take care of your dog as if it was her ownz”
“Laura is a real professional. She invested time to find out my pup’s needs before our scheduled daycare. She communicated very clearly with us throughout the day. Most importantly, my dog was so happy and well cared for when she was with Laura. I highly recommend her!”

After 4 years with another doggie care (who moved out of the area, hence the switch), I was very anxious about my dog’s adjustment to a new place. Shizuka went out of her way to ease my anxiety, and with her kindness & gentle demeanor, all my concerns melted away. Lots of photos & videos, and my dog really looked liked she enjoyed herself (particularly the backyard, which she doesn’t get to have at our condo). Definitely recommend. Already rebooked!

We had an amazing experience with Chenqin. She was so kind and patient with our anxious dog, which instantly helped her feel more comfortable. Communication was excellent—she gave us frequent updates with photos so we always knew how she was doing. We truly felt at ease the entire time and will definitely be booking again!

Yasmine is the best! I had taken my dog to an indoor doggie daycare, and it very clearly overwhelmed him. I needed to find an alternative quickly, which is how I found Yasmine. From the start, she answered all my questions - even the ones I didn’t know I had - and immediately made me feel at ease about leaving my dog in her care. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and is very attuned to their needs. Murphy absolutely loves going to Yasmine’s, and I feel so happy knowing he’s in good hands and actually enjoying his day while I’m at work.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Falls Church commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
