We let her know about our concerns about our older dog being an escape artist and she walked us through the various measures in place to ensure his safety including she has even worked on threshold manners when him so he doesn’t walk through the door until he’s told it’s okay to. She also knows just how to manage my puppy’s anxiety and doesn’t see her anxiety as a hassle but is instead so empathetic and dedicated to building her confidence. She introduced our dogs to her dogs over time and in a way that didn’t stress my puppy out. She takes them on lots of walks and they come back from day care happy and tired!”

About: My interest in dogs started 5 years when I became a dog musher in the winters! Then I signed up as a weekly volunteer with my local dog shelter. And I take the shelter dogs on fun field trips (hikes, parks, canoeing on the potomac- you name it)! I don't have pets of my own so my time is dedicated fully to other people's dogs and cats. I also work part time from home and have a very flexible schedule. I will make sure I understand you and your dog's needs, and work together as a team and your dog has a super fun adventure and time will fly!

I ensure a very loving, nurturing home atmosphere for all dogs in my care. I send frequent updates and photo text messages throughout your dogs stay. I will have no more than 2 dogs under my personal care at any given time. I have a 10 year old Siberian Husky who would love to meet new friends. We live in North Arlington near McLean, and our home has a Huge Fenced In Backyard with ample amount of room for all dogs to run, play and explore. I have been a dog owner for about 25 years. I have experience with puppies and dogs under 50 lbs. I am knowledgeable in basic dog training and can work with your puppy/ dog on basic commands such as Sit, Down, Stay and Come. I am home full time every day. I keep a very flexible schedule to meet the needs of your dog and my girl at all times. if for some reason I step out, one of my parents will typically be home to supervise when needed. I have a calm, laid-back approach and love taking dogs for walks around the neighborhood, and for many play times in my Large fully fenced in yard. About: I have taken care of dogs for over 20 years- I am great with all breeds and have a knack for training puppies (and older dogs too!) I am working from home and live right along a beautiful pet friendly park! I go on walks and runs throughout the day so love taking pups out with me! I ensure dogs are well taken care of and have experience administering different medications to dogs (including allergy injections) and following dietary restrictions or other needs. I show a lot of love and affection to pups and will keep them occupied and hopefully burn some of their energy playing and going on walks/runs!

After 4 years with another doggie care (who moved out of the area, hence the switch), I was very anxious about my dog’s adjustment to a new place. Shizuka went out of her way to ease my anxiety, and with her kindness & gentle demeanor, all my concerns melted away. Lots of photos & videos, and my dog really looked liked she enjoyed herself (particularly the backyard, which she doesn’t get to have at our condo). Definitely recommend. Already rebooked!
