“Diana was great with Pisco! He had such a fun time and she took such good care of him. She’s very responsive, communicative, and makes sure to share fun memories as well. Even when Pisco wasn’t feeling the best she made sure he was comfortable and kept me informed. Would definitely recommend her and return for more bookings!”

“Jie was very kind, flexible and provided a safe, engaging space for my young dog's first experience at daycare. She took care to select appropriate pack dynamic for play and even worked on some 'place' and calm stay training throughout the day with her, which was unexpected and awesome. My dog loves her, and is always excited to visit. Totally 100% recommend Jie without reservation and hope to use her services again soon!”

“Supon is an excellent doggy day caregiver! We did not have a chance to do a meet and greet but I was confident that with Supon's experience that Champ would be in good hands. Not long after I dropped off Champ, Supon sent photos showing Champ socializing and looking at home with Supon's pups and other guests. The photos sent throughout the day gave me comfort that Champ was enjoying his doggy day camp experience. I also greatly appreciated Supon's flexibility in dropping off and picking up Champ. Champ will definitely become a repeat client!”

“Juliet was very accommodating to my work schedule. She kept me informed with pictures and how Remi was doing throughout the day. She is caring, kind and sweet and will make sure your pup is taken great care of.”

“Katherine and Brian took excellent care of our very active shepherd mix! They are responsible and sent many updates throughout the stay. Highly recommend!!”

“We use Rover all the time and this was our BEST rover experience. Yiting was very responsive and took Maggie to so many new parks and places to explore. Maggie gets so excited when she sees Yiting during drop off, and I know she is incredibly well cared for. Will absolutely use again!”

“Lina had a great time with Helena and Nathan. The backyard is huge, and she loved running with her new dog friends. Didn’t get to meet Nathan this time, but Helena was wonderful with Lina. We will definitely book again.”

About: I am a pet lover. I grew up in a home with many pets including dogs and cats and have always had a special connection to animals. I love going on long walks and heading to the dog park when the weather is nice. I am here to help you care for your pet the best way possible. I'll always listen to special instructions and will show your pet the love and attention as if they were my own. I have a flexible schedule and am able to do "drop-in visits" and "rover now" walks during most week days when many walkers are unavailable. I am in the office two days a week, Tuesdays and a flex day. I can't wait to meet your fur baby! **I cannot accept pets that get into plants as I have a few not pet safe plants at home** **For house sitting you must be ok with my dog Buddy coming with me and staying at your house as well.** I work from home 3 days a week and am home most weekends! I too Iove middle of the day walks and all day hangs! I am in a pet friendly building that is super close to Rock Creek for longer walks. My home is child free, and smoke free. I do have a senior beagle mix I adopted from a family member who could not bring him with for an overseas move who is a full time pet at the home.
“Dzov and Carl LOVED their day with Brian and Izzy. They had so much fun, neither of them woke me up the next morning... they were so pooped from having a blast with Jax and Ziggy. We got lots of fun pics and videos throughout the day. Carl and Dzov can’t wait to see their friends again!!”
“Susan was wonderful! Accommodated Manni last minute and he came home very tired from playing with her sweet pups :) she has an awesome backyard which is hard to come by! Would definitely book with Susan again! ”

“My pup had a great time at Crystal’s. I did a meet and greet on a previous visit and felt very comfortable leaving Ringo in her care. She responded quickly to my email request for daycare and I was able to make an appointment on short notice. The house is easy to find and has a nice fenced in front yard where he can play with other dogs and hang out with Crystal and her family. Crystal sent lots of photos of Ringo throughout the day and it was great to see him happy and looking right at home. We will definitely call on Crystal the next time we head out of town.”

“Devora has been a fantastic sitter for us while we work a few days each week in the office. She sends lots of updates and is clearly very knowledgeable about dogs. She also truly seems to be such a dog lover and we’ve felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. We will certainly be using her again!”

“Tricia was great ! We initially did a meet and greet to see if our doggies would get along and we went over how Milo’s daycare day would be. The day of the daycare went great, Milo went on walks and played with Lily and another corgi they were taking care of. She sent a lot of pictures and video of Milo and it was really nice see Milo having fun and relaxing with them ! Thank you Tricia !”

“Kind, accommodating and extremely gentle. My dog misses her instantly and she will always be the person to care for him. She sends pictures and videos and truly is remarkable. Highly recommended”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodland Acres
After 4 years with another doggie care (who moved out of the area, hence the switch), I was very anxious about my dog’s adjustment to a new place. Shizuka went out of her way to ease my anxiety, and with her kindness & gentle demeanor, all my concerns melted away. Lots of photos & videos, and my dog really looked liked she enjoyed herself (particularly the backyard, which she doesn’t get to have at our condo). Definitely recommend. Already rebooked!

It was so easy to communicate with Amanda - quick responses to my messages and we are all set for a meet and greet, then she looked after Daisy today. She has a really cute ground level apartment right next to the Ballston Commons, and it has access to a fenced in shared yard for bathroom breaks. Daisy takes a moment to warm up to new people, but she quickly befriended Amanda and it took some effort when I came to pick her up to get Daisy to leave her curled up spot on the couch next to Amanda. ❣️. I'm so happy to have found a good Rover daycare sitter and will definitely be booking with Amanda again!

Jack was fantastic! This was our first booking with him, and we were very impressed. He was attentive, detail-oriented, and clearly very experienced while taking care of Rolo. We also really appreciated the great updates and photos throughout the day. We’ll definitely book with him again!

Kristin took excellent care of my nervous 3 month old puppy. My puppy had never stayed at someone else’s home, and I felt super comfortable leaving her with Kristin. I got photos throughout the day and a tired happy puppy at pickup :) will definitely hire again!

Leah is amazing! It’s clear how much she loves dogs, and she takes such great care of them. That was so evident from how much fun Pisco had during his day with her. She was also incredibly responsive and kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would absolutely trust her with Pisco again!

Isabelle and her parents were wonderful with my pup! They made my anxious pup feel safe and loved and he quickly warmed up to them. They sent photos and videos along the way to show his progress and I felt so comfortable with him in their care. They were quick to respond and overall the experience was very pleasant. Will absolutely be boarding with them again! Thanks so much!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
