About: My interest in dogs started 5 years when I became a dog musher in the winters! Then I signed up as a weekly volunteer with my local dog shelter. And I take the shelter dogs on fun field trips (hikes, parks, canoeing on the potomac- you name it)! I don't have pets of my own so my time is dedicated fully to other people's dogs and cats. I also work part time from home and have a very flexible schedule. I will make sure I understand you and your dog's needs, and work together as a team and your dog has a super fun adventure and time will fly!
“Shizuka provided a level of service far better than I’m used to - as a frequent rover user. She has a nice home where she can separate large dogs from small dogs, and she makes her home an environment where dogs can easily coexist (no toys lying around for Tilly to take and guard). She gave Tilly lots of water and plenty of potty breaks, even in the rain. She took lots of pictures, and she gave me a report card for the visit (thankfully Tilly was well behaved the whole time). About: I've pet sit for my friends dogs and have raised a corgi puppy from 10 weeks old! I love dogs and will treat yours like mine. I have a playful and friendly corgi who plays well with all dogs. Plus I give excellent scratches. I will send a bunch of photos, as long as you don’t mind me spamming you with them! We do at least 3 walks a day, dog parks after work, and fun adventures on the weekends. Normally we eat breakfast around 8:30, go for a potty walk, and play. During the weekday, I take them out every 4 hours and do mental puzzles at home. If the weather is nice, we will go to a nearby dog park. On weekends, we tend to go out for outdoor adventures if the weather is nice I live in an apartment with ample walking nearby. Super dog friendly neighborhood. We have space to set up crates if needed. I am a neat person and will clean up after myself and the dogs.

About: Safely get my Persian cat over multiple infections and spay. The house will only host one dog at a time. Communicate daily with videos and pictures. Attention to details and following careful instructions if needed. I work from home three days a week. I generally have time after 5pm on weekdays and free during weekend for drop in visits. “Nyla and Corey took excellent care of my pets while I was visiting my brother in Alexandria. They were able to accommodate a last minute request due to an unforeseen work situation I was in. Corey was able to pick up my pups and bring them home which was a huge help, as I am not very familiar with the DC Metro area in addition to the horrific traffic. They sent me photos during the day to let me know how my dogs were doing, which was great as I am a helicopter pet parent. What began as a last minute doggy day care issue became a blessing as I will always utilize Corey and Nyla in the future when visiting my brother in Alexandria. I should also mention that I have a bossy female toy poodle Lu and a mini Aussie puppy Finn. They are both well trained but get super excited being around new people and Finn needs mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. After 4 years with another doggie care (who moved out of the area, hence the switch), I was very anxious about my dog’s adjustment to a new place. Shizuka went out of her way to ease my anxiety, and with her kindness & gentle demeanor, all my concerns melted away. Lots of photos & videos, and my dog really looked liked she enjoyed herself (particularly the backyard, which she doesn’t get to have at our condo). Definitely recommend. Already rebooked!
We had an amazing experience with Chenqin. She was so kind and patient with our anxious dog, which instantly helped her feel more comfortable. Yasmine is the best! I had taken my dog to an indoor doggie daycare, and it very clearly overwhelmed him. I needed to find an alternative quickly, which is how I found Yasmine. From the start, she answered all my questions - even the ones I didn’t know I had - and immediately made me feel at ease about leaving my dog in her care. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and is very attuned to their needs. Murphy absolutely loves going to Yasmine’s, and I feel so happy knowing he’s in good hands and actually enjoying his day while I’m at work.
Grace was absolutely great with Poppy. She provided us great updates of the day with lots of pictures, which we truly appreciated.
