About: My interest in dogs started 5 years when I became a dog musher in the winters! Then I signed up as a weekly volunteer with my local dog shelter. About: I've pet sit for my friends dogs and have raised a corgi puppy from 10 weeks old! I love dogs and will treat yours like mine. I have a playful and friendly corgi who plays well with all dogs. Plus I give excellent scratches. I will send a bunch of photos, as long as you don’t mind me spamming you with them! We do at least 3 walks a day, dog parks after work, and fun adventures on the weekends. Normally we eat breakfast around 8:30, go for a potty walk, and play. During the weekday, I take them out every 4 hours and do mental puzzles at home. If the weather is nice, we will go to a nearby dog park. On weekends, we tend to go out for outdoor adventures if the weather is nice I live in an apartment with ample walking nearby. Super dog friendly neighborhood. We have space to set up crates if needed. I am a neat person and will clean up after myself and the dogs.

About: I’ve been surrounded my dogs and cats my whole life. Typically I pet sit for friends. The pets I’ve watched are mainly dogs and cats but I’ve also done reptiles, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. I had my own dog for 1 year and a half. We loved outdoor walks, hikes with couch snuggles mixed in. Most common breeds of dogs are Retriever, Pitbull and German Shepherds. About: [NOTE: I was active on Rover before the star system was employed, so I have reviews, but no stars yet as I jump back in!] I'm Tom, based in Falls Church near the National Cemetery. I work from home as a consultant with a lot of flexibility during the week, so weekday middays are actually open rather than squeezed around something else. I'm looking after all kinds of dogs, from easy ones who just want their loop around the block to dogs who need a little more thought. My own dog is Buddy, a 70lb pittie who was very reactive towards people and animals. I've also fostered for Lost Dog and AARF in Baltimore, which meant a steady rotation of dogs showing up with almost no history, so you learn to read a dog quickly and adjust rather than run everyone through the same routine. Some of those fosters were reactive, on leash with other dogs or with strangers approaching, and a few were both. It's an area I am familiar with and I'm glad to take those dogs on. It also just made me a better walker generally. I pay attention to the small stuff, the ears and the pause, and I'd rather pick a calm route your dog actually enjoys than a scenic one that leaves them wound up. If your dog does better in a particular harness or with a specific setup, tell me and I'll use it! I used to pet sit here on Rover, and these days I stick to weekday walks and drop-ins close to home so I'm never rushing between neighborhoods. I've got a car, so rain doesn't change anything and I can get to a vet fast if I ever need to. I ask for a meet and greet for reactive dogs before every first booking. I want to meet your dog on their turf with you there, and hear how you read them, since nobody knows them better than you do! Non-reactive dogs can have a meet and greet too, but it isn't mandatory. Available weekdays, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Would love to hear about your dog! I'm currently off-season for my job, so I can reliably be scheduled from 9AM to 3PM (so I can do daycare pickup)! I have lots of flexibility this time of year. Happy to be a recurring friend! I follow whatever routine you set. Tell me where the leash and treats live, how you want the door handled, and any quirks I should know about, and I'll stick to it exactly. I leash up before opening the door, check the collar or harness fits properly, and confirm the door is locked behind me on the way out. Keys or codes stay with me and aren't shared. If anything seems off with your dog, you'll hear from me right away.

About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. I’ve had quite a few repeat clients that I’ve worked with for a a while but, have now a few have moved away so, I’d love to meet some new furbabies! “We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Leo! John was absolutely amazing — from the very start he was super responsive and so kind. Leo can be picky about rain, lazy when it’s hot, and a little particular about his eating (clean dish every time!), but John handled everything so wonderfully. He made sure Leo got his walks (adjusting for weather!), gave him all the love, and kept us constantly updated with sweet photos and notes that really gave us peace of mind while we traveled. Coming home to such a happy and relaxed pup says it all. Truly grateful for the care, attention, and thoughtfulness John showed. Shizuka truly went above and beyond by sending daily photo updates, taking Coco out every day, and making sure she was well cared for and comfortable. She even cleans her up well. Coco felt right at home, which gave us so much peace of mind. I really appreciate all the effort and care she put in. I’m so happy he gets a happy easy-going doggy friend in Khali, and experience with Pursey the cat. It’s so nice knowing that he is so beautifully cared for. Jennifer was extra kind this time, giving him medicine and more walks since he couldn’t run around her spacious front yard due to a healing injury. We love getting updates and adorable pictures throughout his time there. I’m not sure Harley really wanted to leave!”

“We were so happy with our experience with Helena and Nathan! After another Rover cancelled on us last minute, they fit us in and truly saved the day! Their yard was amazing - especially for our 95 lb mutt who just loves to run. And our little old man loved the cozy beds around the house. They sent pics and videos every day and our boys came back happy and healthy. As a bonus, while we have noticed our dogs often come back from Rovers smelling like a kennel, after a weekend with Helena and Nathan they came back smelling great!”
