“Barb, The Relief Every Pet Owner Needs Over the years, I grew increasingly scared to leave my 3 cats in a stranger's care. If needed I always drove them to my parents but it became clear that the roadtrip stressed them out more than if I had just left them at home and had a stranger come by the house. As a 1st time Rover user, Barb was a perfect find! She made the whole process unbelievably breezy. She very punctual to the meet and greet she set up the same day I sent my request. I ran her through the cat's litter and feeding schedule and already felt good about her. Immediately after this meet and greet, she sent me a screenshot of the notes she took afterwards which were notes on the food/water/litter instructions we had discussed for the brief meet. This really sealed it for me; not only did Barb exhibit great memory recall but also great attention to detail which is certainly needed in pet care. I had Barb check in twice a day for my 3 cats for a total of 9 days. She is very punctual to the times discussed and an expert with sending photos of furry loved ones to ease anxieties. She also made sure I was made aware of any event that occurred immediately in the Rover Card for that very check-in time. When responding to her or asking her questions she was quick and attentive with her responses. One of my cats loves to escape and is a bit of a "queen of the house" type of cat so she gets a bit protective of "her home" and after giving Barb some tips and tricks in what we do, my cat became calmer and more accepting of Barb as more check-ins occurred. They grew closer towards the end which is a testament of Barb's personality and care qualities. My other 2 cats are shy ones so there was a worry that we wouldn't be able to confirm if they were eating or not. But eventually Barb's calm and gentle presence coaxed them out enough to be spotted for a food grab or a hydration stop every now and then. Overall, having Barb as a first time Rover sitter and first time pet sitter was a perfect match and I feel lucky to have had her watching over my pets.”

Plus I give excellent scratches. I will send a bunch of photos, as long as you don’t mind me spamming you with them! We do at least 3 walks a day, dog parks after work, and fun adventures on the weekends. Normally we eat breakfast around 8:30, go for a potty walk, and play. During the weekday, I take them out every 4 hours and do mental puzzles at home. If the weather is nice, we will go to a nearby dog park. On weekends, we tend to go out for outdoor adventures if the weather is nice I live in an apartment with ample walking nearby. Super dog friendly neighborhood. We have space to set up crates if needed. I am a neat person and will clean up after myself and the dogs.

About: I’ve had my dog since she was 8 weeks old, so I’m used to everything from puppy zoomies and picky eating phases to keeping up with routines, walks, playtime, and bath days. I’m most experienced with medium to large dogs (30–50 lbs), and I honestly love bigger dogs with big personalities. About: I’ve been around pets for a majority of my life! I’ve have had a mini golden doodle (Bella) for 8 years and introduced our cat (Silvia) 3 years ago. A little passion of mine is teaching my dog little tricks, and I really enjoy getting to understand animals in general. I’ve fostered dogs for short periods, dog sat, dog walked, and have babysat for 6 years. I love caring for others and providing your pets with a comfortable environment, one you trust. I work 9-3 (sometimes 9-5) coaching kids tennis camps during the weekdays and am available during the weekends. On work days I can walk or drop-in in the mornings before I head out and first thing when I’m done, then later in the evening before bed. I’m happy to dog sit in the pets home any day, I would just be leaving early morning if it’s a weekend. I focus on keeping their routine consistent by following feeding schedules, providing fresh water, giving them attention and enrichment, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. To start, she’s super communicative and reliable, which makes it really easy to plan and coordinate walks and dogcare with her. She was also great about learning what behaviors we try to reinforce, Maya’s habits and routines and what Maya eats, which gives me the warm and fuzzies that as a parent, aunt Isabelle is staying consistent with dad’s rules. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. Yep Isabelle is a wonderful dog “auntie” and just a delightful human being. I don’t know what her advertised rates are on here, but you should pay them and then some. Isabelle, get after it girl. About: I've grown up with a Bullmastiff and later a Retriever. So I know my way around bigger and heavier dogs as well as more active and energetic ones. I am looking forward to apply those experiences to sitting and walking your four-legged companions with the similar dedication. In addition, we’ve recently lost our Charlie (my golden retriever) and would love to spend time with your pets to try to fill in that gap. But we are in the process of getting a new golden puppy, so puppy requests are welcome as well!
About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. I also have about 100 hours of dog walking experience from a shelter so I am comfortable with reactive/fearful/energetic dogs, and another 100 from shadowing at a vet practice. About: We would love to take care of your small hypo-allergenic dog for you while you are away. Our shih-tzu, Snuffy, is great with other dogs and has plenty of toys to share. Your dog will enjoy a minimum of two longer walks per day and two additional shorter potty breaks. We will text you photos of your dogs in action or lounging. Your dog will not be left alone for long. I work mostly from home. I have two boys, ages 15 and 18 who are very responsible and help with the care of your dog. Our dog sleeps wherever he wants, and so can your dog. We have a fenced in backyard, but we supervise the dogs while they are in the backyard because we have a pool. We have four of us living and working at home who are available to feed, walk, and entertain your dog. We feed the dogs in the morning and in the evening. We have tons of dog toys and a fenced in back yard for potty breaks. Since we already have two dogs, our home is dog proof. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and our dogs share their toys. We send pictures every day with updates.
