I've had dogs my whole life growing up. Unfortunately due to my job I can't have my own fur baby at the moment but would love to spend time with yours! ( Flight attendant but would only take bookings during my days off so I can be home all the time). Pre pandemic, on the weekends I would volunteer dog walk at the Friends of Homeless Animals' shelter in Aldie. I have been volunteering dog walking at the animal shelter for over three years now so I have lots of experience walking different types of dogs and paying attention to each of their individual and unique needs. At the animal shelter the rule was to keep dogs 12 feet from each other when walking. If you have a dog that is a bit leash reactive I have experience making sure they are at a safe distance from other dogs. I grew up with Huskies as a child so I'm use to walking high energy dogs but also love walking older more relaxed dogs as well. I most recently fostered a border collie mix with the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation so I have experience with high energy dogs that need lots of mental and physical stimulation. I use positive reinforcement ( the act of rewarding a positive behavior) when trying to modify behavior. I enforce whatever rules you have at home for example if you have a no human food or no furniture rule I will enforce that at my house as well if you'd like. If your dog is allowed on furniture they are welcome on our furniture. I have a big backyard with a nice section that has a privacy fence for your pup to run around and play in. Your pup will only be off leash once secured in the fenced in area. I like to have the pups play around in the backyard a bit before walks. A picture of the fenced in section is available for viewing under my pictures. Rest assured your dog with get plenty of exercise and cuddles with me as their sitter! My house is only one story but has three steps or so to get to the main door. Can provide a picture for any dog owners of senior dogs. I only take in one dog family at a time.
