Both of us work fully remotely, so there is typically someone home throughout the day on weekdays to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and plenty of attention. Our home features two fully fenced yards—a side yard and a larger backyard—giving dogs ample space to safely explore, play, and relax outdoors.

Safety, trust & environment
We make it a priority to keep dogs engaged, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the day. We’re accustomed to frequent potty breaks—our senior rescue dog needed to go outside every two hours before he passed, so regular outdoor time is already part of my routine. For added peace of mind, we have a Furbo pet camera that allows us to monitor the dogs whenever we’re away from home. Having cared for an anxious rescue dog for many years, we’ve learned the importance of reading a dog’s body language and respecting their individual comfort levels. Some dogs seek affection right away, while others need a little more time and space to build trust. I believe strong relationships with dogs are built through patience, consistency, and calm energy. By allowing dogs to settle in at their own pace and respecting their boundaries, I help them feel safe, secure, and at home during their stay.

Information Helena & Nathan W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about any quirks, routines, triggers, or behaviors I should be aware of. Every dog is unique, and the more I know about your pup’s personality, preferences, and needs, the better I can provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience. Our goal is to set both your dog and us up for success by understanding them as thoroughly as possible before their stay.
A typical day
We enjoy keeping dogs both physically active and mentally stimulated. At home, we incorporate toys, games, and treats to provide enrichment throughout the day, and our spacious backyard is perfect for playing fetch and burning off energy. We also have a park and trail just a short walk away, offering plenty of opportunities for walks, sniffing adventures, and outdoor exploration. For dogs that enjoy a higher activity level, we’re happy to accommodate longer walks or runs—my Yorkie even joins me on occasional 3-mile runs!

*New dog owners get $20 off with me* https://www.rover.com/sit/helenw18910 Boarding & Daycare We typically host either one boarding dog and one daycare dog per day, or up to two boarding dogs at a time. If we ever anticipate having additional dogs overlap with your dog’s stay, we will always let you know beforehand to ensure you’re comfortable with the arrangement. In recent months, we’ve been able to accommodate a few more dogs because now both of us work from home full-time, allowing for even more supervision, attention, and care throughout the day. About Us We are true dog lovers and can’t help but admire every dog we meet. Both of us grew up with dogs, including Golden Retrievers, Huskies, Pomeranians, German Shepherds, and more. We’ve been actively caring for our own dogs since 2015. Our family has included two adopted dogs. One was a stray rescue that Nathan found in Costa Rica, and the other is our 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, who came into our permanent care when my brother moved to Hong Kong. We sadly lost our Costa Rican rescue in January 2025. Because of our personal experiences, we’re especially comfortable caring for anxious, shy, or reactive dogs. Our rescue dog struggled with anxiety and was selective about both people and other dogs. We worked closely with a professional trainer and spent years learning how to create a safe, structured, and loving environment tailored to his needs. That experience has given us valuable insight into understanding and supporting dogs with different personalities and behavioral challenges. About Our Home Our home sits on half an acre and features two fully fenced yards where dogs can safely explore, play, and run around. We also have a park and walking trail just a two-minute walk away, providing plenty of opportunities for long walks, sniffing adventures, exercise, and enrichment throughout the day. Our goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, safe, loved, and treated like part of the family while they’re in our care.
Reviews

They took very good care of my dog. I am very happy and will use again, when ever I need.

Helena and Nathan were very nice and communicative! My request was on somewhat short notice; they let me know that they had a dog boarded already, and wanted to do a meet and greet to make sure all of the dogs would get along (with approval from the other owner as well). I really appreciated that, as I’ve had other sitters not be upfront about other boardings. Louis seemed to have a great time. They have a huge back yard which Louis really enjoyed running around in!

Rosie had another great daycare stay with Helena. Easy coordination and Helena took great care of our pup!

Helena and Nathan were great! I got tons of pics of my dog’s stay and they were incredibly communicative. Will absolutely rebook
