“Corey and Nyla were great with Lola and Coco. They put me at ease with their experience, approach and good communication. They were very sweet to our rescue dogs who are still learning the ropes of a home and sought to make them feel comfortable. We will definitely look to them for future daycare and boarding needs.”

“Hyunbang and Love are the best!! Dora who is usually shy 🙈 got comfortable quickly and Dora did not seem ready to leave when I came to pick her up. I got SO many photos throughout the day and I know Dora can’t wait to go back. Thank you again!!”

About: I’ve loved dogs since as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always the friend who would come over and play withy friend’s dogs as much as possible since we couldn’t have one due to allergies (my dad). I have plenty of experience taking care of dogs, as I got my own puppy in summer of 2022. My dog is super social/friendly with other dogs and loves to play all day long. I also frequently watch my friend’s dogs whenever they are out of town. You pup will be treated as if they are part of my family! I have experience with both puppies and senior dogs, so your dog will be in good hands no matter what! Just let me know any specifics for care and I’ll be sure to take the best care of them! I primarily work from home during the week, so I’ll be around to watch your pup during the day and night! Weekends I am also available to watch the pups! I typically am flexible on whether I leave the dogs home alone and for how long, so just let me know what works for you! I live in a house with a fenced in yard and have one dog of my own who is very social around other dogs. There’s also quite a few parks/fields around me where I typically take my dog, so your pup can get plenty of exercise! We take our dog out 3-4 times a day, but can be flexible for your pets needs! We also have a crate if needed, but we do not crate our dog whenever we leave him at home. We do allow our dog on the furniture (even though he never snuggles us), but can be flexible for whatever you prefer. We also have a doggy camera to keep a close eye on the pups when we aren’t there.
About: I’ve had furry family members all my life. Finally got my own and live having a pup to train, pamper and love on. Let me share that experience with you and your pup as well☺️ I work from home, which makes pup care easier. My pup goes on a 30-60min walk or fetch in the fenced s hook fields near me around 7.30-8, eats around 10.30am with a quick walk outside soon after. She naps and is free to play. Last walk and dinner is around 6.30-7.30. Jade sleeps in her crate beside my bed. I’m able to give as much attention to her as needed because my schedule is flexible. I am very tidy and keep hazards away from the pups. I use dog-safe cleaning products. I also have a nest doorbell camera to monitor those coming and going. Plants are out of reach. I have access to fenced parks and fields less than 1min walk where I take Jade regularly. I like to play Chakra Healing Frequencies
About: I am deeply committed to providing the best possible care for pets under my watch. This means not only fulfilling their basic needs like feeding and exercise but also ensuring they feel loved, safe, and comfortable in my care. In summary, my combination of experience, specialized skills in training puppies and caring for senior pets, dedication to high-quality care, and strong focus on client satisfaction makes me a standout choice as a pet sitter. Incorporating pet care into my daily and weekly routine is a priority for me, as it requires consistency and attention to detail to ensure the well-being of the pets under my care. Here’s how I typically integrate pet care into my schedule: Daily Routine Morning Routine: I start my day by feeding the pets and providing fresh water. This is followed by morning exercise or playtime, tailored to the pet's needs and energy levels. Midday Check-ins: If needed, especially for puppies or senior pets, I schedule midday visits to provide bathroom breaks, meals, medication if required, and some companionship or playtime. Afternoon Activities: In the afternoon, I engage the pets in activities that stimulate them mentally and physically, such as training sessions, interactive play, or walks. Evening Routine: I ensure pets have their evening meal on time and another round of exercise or play to wind down their day. For senior pets, this may include gentle activities to keep them comfortable and relaxed. Bedtime Routine: Before bedtime, I make sure pets are settled, comfortable, and have everything they need for a good night's rest. Caring for pets in my home involves creating a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment that meets their physical, emotional, and social needs. Here’s how I ensure a high standard of care: 1. Safety and Comfort 2. Daily Routine 3. Socialization and Interaction 4. Health and Hygiene 5. Communication with Owners 6. Emergency Preparedness
“Donna was wonderful, as always! She's warm, caring, and great with our dog. We also appreciated her clear communication and the regular updates she sent about how our dog was doing!”

“We had a great experience with HK. You can tell when you meet her she is kind and loves animals. She sent a few updates, pictures and videos of Lando having a great time running and playing with other dogs which allowed me to have a good time on my dinner date. I highly recommend HK for all your doggie day care needs”

“Such a great sitter!!!! So grateful I found Merlyn and her sweet pup Nugget! My dog Bodhi loves hanging out with them while I’m at work! Would definitely recommend!”

“Bethany was more than accommodating in an urgent last minute request. She sent many photos and videos of Lola and was super responsive and flexible. Lola came home exhausted. Highly recommend!”

“Leila came to my rescue w/ my last minute request for doggy daycare today. She responded quickly and made my Zoe feel so welcome at drop off. Zoe did not want to leave when I picked her up, which is a first. Leila is a dog whisperer! Thank you for your kindness and the adorable photos. Immediately had peace of mind knowing Zoe was in great care w/ a loving sitter. My girl Zoe can be a bit high maintenance but Leila never made me feel like an inconvenience. I highly recommend Leila to care for your fur baby.”

“It was so easy coordinating Milo’s meet-and-greet and first daycare day with Asia. All the great reviews are well deserved—we’d absolutely recommend her. Milo was clearly well cared for and came home happy and healthy.”

“Katerine took Mia on short notice, and Mia had a great time hanging out with the other dogs. Katerine is always a great communicator and provides timely updates.”

“When faced with a sudden family emergency, I reached out to Helena & Nathan trying to find a place for my boy, Jackson, for the day. H&N responded within minutes and we were able to work out day care for the day. I can't tell you how grateful I felt knowing that Jackson would be well cared for while I attended to my own family's needs. H&N kept me posted with plenty of photos throughout the day - and those photos really lifted my spirits when we ended up having to put a beloved family cat to sleep. I really can't thank them enough for the support and care they provided...to both me and Jackson. Rest in Peace, Mr. Kitty. You were my father's best friend and brought love and laughter into all of our lives. We'll miss you.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Barcroft
Leah is amazing! It’s clear how much she loves dogs, and she takes such great care of them. That was so evident from how much fun Pisco had during his day with her. She was also incredibly responsive and kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would absolutely trust her with Pisco again!

Isabelle and her parents were wonderful with my pup! They made my anxious pup feel safe and loved and he quickly warmed up to them. They sent photos and videos along the way to show his progress and I felt so comfortable with him in their care. They were quick to respond and overall the experience was very pleasant. Will absolutely be boarding with them again! Thanks so much!

We had a wonderful experience with Andrew! Shiloh looked so happy and clearly had such a great time playing with the other dogs. We really appreciated the large yard and the care and attention given throughout the day. Communication was great, and it was comforting knowing he was in good hands. Thank you again for taking such great care of our sweet boy — we would absolutely book again! 🐾

They made Chance and Po feel so at home. Both the home and back yard (fully fenced in) are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Anya was very welcoming of both of them, and somehow both Sarah and her husband made our incredibly shy dog feel comfortable enough to ask for pets, which absolutely never happens. 10/10
Oh my goodness Nya was amazing! Such acseeet personality and she really came through for me in a crucial moment. I had to move and needed a sitter for my doggie ladybug and what an amazing job she did with keeping me posted and beautiful pictures of ladybug throughout her day with Nya. I would definitely us her services when we need help and I highly recommend her

Carolina was so sweet and accommodating!! She had to be ready to receive my pups at 6 am, which is so early and had them for a very long day! I felt relieved knowing that my pups were in good hands. Suki is quite hyper when she first arrives to a new place and Carolina was so patient with her, a true dog lover!!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
