“Corey and Nyla were great with Lola and Coco. They put me at ease with their experience, approach and good communication. They were very sweet to our rescue dogs who are still learning the ropes of a home and sought to make them feel comfortable. We will definitely look to them for future daycare and boarding needs.”

“Reliable, friendly and flexible, Tehani is the consummate professional. Henry is genuinely excited when he sees her and comes home happy. Highly recommended”

“mina LOVED her stay with kara and devin. they also assisted with potty training her and it was a big help. it’s very hard finding someone you can trust but they did not disappoint and were serious when they said they would treat ur dog like family. mina had a wonderful experience being with them and they kept up with updates of her. i would recommend them!”

“Pickles LOVED her day spent with Katerine & Brian! We received updates and pictures of Pickles throughout her day! This is the first time Pickles has ever been left with anyone other than family or friends, and naturally we were nervous - but the updates truly helped us feel at ease! Thanks again, we would definitely reach out to Katerine for her service again, while in the DC area!”

“When faced with a sudden family emergency, I reached out to Helena & Nathan trying to find a place for my boy, Jackson, for the day. H&N responded within minutes and we were able to work out day care for the day. I can't tell you how grateful I felt knowing that Jackson would be well cared for while I attended to my own family's needs. H&N kept me posted with plenty of photos throughout the day - and those photos really lifted my spirits when we ended up having to put a beloved family cat to sleep. I really can't thank them enough for the support and care they provided...to both me and Jackson. Rest in Peace, Mr. Kitty. You were my father's best friend and brought love and laughter into all of our lives. We'll miss you.”

“Donna was wonderful, as always! She's warm, caring, and great with our dog. We also appreciated her clear communication and the regular updates she sent about how our dog was doing!”

“I am so grateful for Karol who took such good care of my 11 month old active dog. She communicated well throughout the day, sent pictures, and was very kind and caring to my dog that is not used to being left with others. I highly recommend Karol and appreciate her help.”

“Leila was amazing!! She took wonderful care of my dog Mila, sent updates and photos, and made the whole process stress-free. My dog came home happy and well cared for. I would definitely book again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Highly recommend Mai Anh (Bee) for dog daycare and boarding! She is the most attentive, caring and responsive dog sitter I’ve had. She loves pups like they’re her own and offers total peace of mind while sitting.”

“Thank you Sophie for treating our girl like your own, she’s always in the best hands with you. She had the best time sniffing your gardens, playing with Love, getting sprinkler time, and all the pets - she didn’t want to leave today 😆 .”

“Keith and Jessica were very responsive and so sweet! We had a meet and greet before I dropped Charlie off to stay with them for a day and I could tell they just love having dogs around. I’m so glad I could take him to such a kind and caring home!”

“Madina was wonderful with Moana. She came back home happy and well taken care of. I will definitely be contacting Madina again, thank you so much for all your help.”

About: We had a Shih Tzu for 4 or 5 years her name was Nyla and she was apart of the family and we loved her I'm looking for a something to do with not working at this time, I am trying to get in shape as well and this would help I live in an apartment but it's pet friendly here with bags to clean up behind them and a dog park so they can exercise
“Adriana has been an amazing sitter for Rosie! Rosie is always excited to see her, which gives me peace of mind whenever I leave her in Adriana’s care. She is responsible, reliable, and incredibly accommodating, and I always know Rosie will be well cared for. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.”

Laura is a real professional. She invested time to find out my pup’s needs before our scheduled daycare. She communicated very clearly with us throughout the day. Most importantly, my dog was so happy and well cared for when she was with Laura. I highly recommend her!
It was so easy to communicate with Amanda - quick responses to my messages and we are all set for a meet and greet, then she looked after Daisy today. She has a really cute ground level apartment right next to the Ballston Commons, and it has access to a fenced in shared yard for bathroom breaks. Daisy takes a moment to warm up to new people, but she quickly befriended Amanda and it took some effort when I came to pick her up to get Daisy to leave her curled up spot on the couch next to Amanda. ❣️. I'm so happy to have found a good Rover daycare sitter and will definitely be booking with Amanda again!

Nyla and Corey took excellent care of my pets while I was visiting my brother in Alexandria. They were able to accommodate a last minute request due to an unforeseen work situation I was in. Corey was able to pick up my pups and bring them home which was a huge help, as I am not very familiar with the DC Metro area in addition to the horrific traffic. They sent me photos during the day to let me know how my dogs were doing, which was great as I am a helicopter pet parent. What began as a last minute doggy day care issue became a blessing as I will always utilize Corey and Nyla in the future when visiting my brother in Alexandria. I should also mention that I have a bossy female toy poodle Lu and a mini Aussie puppy Finn. They are both well trained but get super excited being around new people and Finn needs mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. They both came home to me happy and sleepy, I know that Finn would not be sleepy if he did not get the stimulation that he needs especially at this stage of his life. Thank you, Corey and Nyla! I appreciate you both so much and would give you more than 5 stars if I could! I will be a repeat customer, hopefully not last minute next time! Thanks again for caring for my babies!

Marley had such a great time with Hyunbang and Love! I'm nervous every time I leave her since Marley is an anxious girl, but Hyunbang's calming presence and regular communication put me completely at ease. I loved the constant updates and adorable photos throughout the day. My girl clearly had a blast! We have boarding booked with her in a few weeks, and I am relieved to know Marley will be in such good hands.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lake Barcroft commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
