“Bethany was kind enough to respond and accommodate our last minute request for day boarding. Our pup seemed to have great time at her place. She was always available and responsive over the phone, sent us pictures as well. We would definitely board again when we are in this area.”

“Thank you Sophie for treating our girl like your own, she’s always in the best hands with you. She had the best time sniffing your gardens, playing with Love, getting sprinkler time, and all the pets - she didn’t want to leave today 😆 .”

“Great as always! Jax did a day of daycare with Amy while we moved and as a way to get used to her house again before we go on another trip. Amy always sends plenty of pictures and keeps us updated throughout his stay. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Helena & Nathan watched my boy, Jackson, while I attended my nephew's high school graduation ceremony. Originally scheduled for the evening, stormy weather precipitated a change in time and location and the ceremony was rescheduled for much earlier in the day. Luckily, Helena & Nathan were incredibly flexible in allowing me to drop off Jackson much earlier than I expected. Jackson absolutely loved their fenced backyard - and Helena & Nathan captured multiple photos and even a little video of Jackson enjoying the outdoors. He really seemed to enjoy his time with them both. I will look forward to working with them again!”

“My dog, Aspen, had a great day with Michelle and doggy friends. I rarely leave Aspen with sitters but she was so happy when I picked her up and napped the entire way home. Michelle was great about sending updates throughout the day. We’ll be going back!”

“Ayme took Hugo for a doggie day care break today! We asked her at short notice, and she obliged. Hugo loves playing with Ayme’s fur-babies, and judging by the photos and video, he had a blast 😊 Thank you so much for the love and attention you and your kind husband give to our dog, I’m so glad we found you! 💕”

“Asia has been amazing. She is very flexible with her doggy daycare scheduling, and is awesome with animals. Carmelo, my dog, loves going there, he loves playing with her dogs and the other dogs. He loves running and playing in her large backyard, a plus for us, since we reside in a condo. Carmelo has been going for two months, I feel at ease when he's there. Asia sends me pictures and responds to me in a timely manner. I highly recommend her doggy daycare.”

About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs and cats! From a personal level, I have done dog walking, dog/cat sitting, to a professional level, working for a wildlife conservation nonprofit. I am experienced with puppies and kittens, as well as seniors. I will take care of your fur baby(ies) as if they were my own! I am home full-time so I will be able to give all my attention to your fur baby(ies)! I can and will follow your instructions and recommendations. 🐶 I am available to take your dog(s) on walks and hikes, and/or the occasional bike ride. Play fetch in the fenced yard or tug of war indoors on bad weather days. My priority is to provide a home-away-from-home space following your routine as close as possible. And lots of affection if needed! 🐱 By default, my visits will include feeding, replenishing water, discarding litter, and playing and/or spending time with your cat(s). I let cat(s) come to me, sniff my scent, and trust me without invading their boundaries.
“Susan was wonderful! Accommodated Manni last minute and he came home very tired from playing with her sweet pups :) she has an awesome backyard which is hard to come by! Would definitely book with Susan again! ”

“Han and Patrick were great! My dog is nervous around new people but it was clear that they made him feel at home. They sent lots of pictures and were so prompt with pickup and drop off - always waiting right outside when I arrived! Han was so accommodating with last minute changes to the schedule that I had as well. Dash was well taken care of and we will rebook again!”

About: I have over two years of experience as a dedicated pet sitter, caring for neighbors’ pets through in-home sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits while families are at work or away on vacation. I’ve developed a strong reputation for being reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring toward every animal I look after. My love for animals is lifelong—I’ve cared for my own dog, Sophia, a Wheaten Terrier–Poodle mix, for over eight years. This personal experience has strengthened my understanding of pet behavior, routines, and the importance of providing consistent, compassionate care. I’ve also taken my passion a step further academically. I completed Veterinary Science Academy courses in high school and attended a Veterinary Science summer program at the University of Pennsylvania. These experiences gave me foundational knowledge in animal health and reinforced my goal of becoming a veterinarian in the future. I bring both hands-on experience and formal training to every pet I care for, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved while their owners are away. I’m currently a college student taking a gap year, which allows me to be flexible, available, and fully committed to giving your pets the time and attention they deserve. This also means I can better accommodate different schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and last-minute requests. I take pride in being dependable and responsive, and I truly enjoy building a routine that keeps your pet comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you're away. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I have a fully fenced yard that provides a safe space for supervised outdoor play and exercise. I also have a friendly, well-socialized dog who loves to play and can provide great companionship for pets who enjoy being around other dogs. I always monitor interactions closely to ensure everyone is comfortable and happy. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to follow your pet’s normal routine. I pay attention to feeding schedules, exercise needs, oral medications (if needed), and any special instructions you provide. I make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, affection, and playtime, while also keeping your home tidy and secure. No matter the setting, my goal is to create a safe, stress-free, and loving environment so your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you're away
“Andrew kept my boy, Jackson, all day while I went to work and then attended a play in the evening. Unfortunately, I found that the play was going to run longer than I had anticipated - so I sent Andrew a message at intermission to let him know that I would be about a half hour later than our scheduled time for me to pick up Jackson. He was very accommodating and I was very appreciative of his flexibility when something unexpected popped up. Thank you, Andrew!”

About: I pay attention to details. I’m active if the dog is active. I love giving belly rubs for long periods if needed and I love comforting the pups if needed. I’m up early in the morning so definitely available for a quick pop in if you’re stuck at the office or if your pup just needs some lovin before you come home! I love pets and I just wanna be around them so this is the perfect way to spend my spare time! My work schedule at the moment I work nights so I usually go in about 4 pm and then depending on the work load I could stay for 12+ hours getting off around 4-5 in the morning. I can easily crate dogs if needed, I will keep your dog out of harm on walks by walking on the other side of the street of another dog entirely if they don’t seem friendly. Any notes you have will be helpful but I have plenty experience with my purebred blue nose Pitt Logan.
“My pup Lucy loved her time with Michelle! Michelle has great communication and was flexible about drop off and pick up times. Very easy to work with. Highly recommend!”
“WOW - Simply AMAZING - Nicole was incredible- caring, loving and so generous. Nicole stopped by our house a few days prior to Rogan's play date with her - we both wanted to make sure we had a good match- and Rogan was immediately smitten by Nicole's charm, her calm demeanor and of course a treat!! When we arrived to drop Rogan off, he joyfully zoomed around Nicole's place, checking out all the great toys, the wonderful roomy living area, and event the full length mirror - We received lots of great pictures of Rogan's wonderful afternoon of playtime, walking and even a bit of good old napping - after all it was an exciting and busy day! Nicole, thank you so very much for your time, your attention to our little fur-baby, and for the extra special surprise photo- Rogan is already asking to come back!! Again, thank you for your caring, generosity, patience and genuine love of 4 legged creatures - you made our afternoon and evening knowing we did not need to worry-Again thank you!!”

Patrick took great care of Lily, and I always feel comfortable knowing she's in good hands while I'm at work. He is someone I trust, and it's clear that he genuinely cares about the dogs he watches. Lily absolutely loves coming to his house, and from the photos he shares, she always looks relaxed, happy, and comfortable. It's reassuring to know she's being well cared for and enjoying herself throughout the day. I highly recommend Patrick to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter or daycare provider!

We had a wonderful experience with Andrew! Shiloh looked so happy and clearly had such a great time playing with the other dogs. We really appreciated the large yard and the care and attention given throughout the day. Communication was great, and it was comforting knowing he was in good hands. Thank you again for taking such great care of our sweet boy — we would absolutely book again! 🐾

They made Chance and Po feel so at home. Both the home and back yard (fully fenced in) are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Anya was very welcoming of both of them, and somehow both Sarah and her husband made our incredibly shy dog feel comfortable enough to ask for pets, which absolutely never happens. 10/10
Dalila took in our puppy Olive last minute and was a life saver! She has young dogs so she was familiar with the nuances of a puppy, and her dogs were great at socializing our girl and providing a lot of play to get her energy out. I literally had to drag my dog out of there! 10/10 recommend!

Bridgette was beyond amazing with our pup Louie! She was flexible and accommodating with a pretty early AM drop off, and sent so many great video and picture updates. I’m so grateful to have met her and to know that Lou is safe and having so much fun with Bridgette and her dog!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Annandale commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
