“We are so thankful to Ayme for watching our dogs -- Lucky and Minnie -- at the last minute while we moved today. It is clear from the pictures that they had a blast. We plan on having them visit again just so they can have fun with Ayme's dog again! Thank you Ayme!”

“Thank you Sophie for treating our girl like your own, she’s always in the best hands with you. She had the best time sniffing your gardens, playing with Love, getting sprinkler time, and all the pets - she didn’t want to leave today 😆 .”

“Asia has been amazing. She is very flexible with her doggy daycare scheduling, and is awesome with animals. Carmelo, my dog, loves going there, he loves playing with her dogs and the other dogs. He loves running and playing in her large backyard, a plus for us, since we reside in a condo. Carmelo has been going for two months, I feel at ease when he's there. Asia sends me pictures and responds to me in a timely manner. I highly recommend her doggy daycare.”

“Peace could not have had more fun with Michelle and Cinnamon running around in their very spacious back yard. It was a rainy day, but Peace didn't want to come inside. Michelle did a great job communicating to me and made sure Peace was dry when I picked her up. I seriously haven't seen Peace so excited about a daycare visit.”

“My pup Lucy loved her time with Michelle! Michelle has great communication and was flexible about drop off and pick up times. Very easy to work with. Highly recommend!”
“Bethany was very responsive and very good with Ruby! Very easy to work with and flexible with drop offs and pick ups. We will definitely be staying with Bethany again.”

“Brittany did a great job caring for my dog during the week when I was at work. I could tell that my dog really liked her, and my dog had the opportunity to socialize with other dogs too. I would definitely recommend her services to my friends and family!”

“Ann and Rick made my dog Winnie feel right at home and took great care of her during our recent very long day first visit. I received reports and photos during the day, which I very much appreciated. Even though we had done a successful meet and great beforehand and Winnie trotted into their house with only a brief look back, they felt she was a bit nervous and adjusted her day accordingly. I look forward to future bookings.”

“We dropped our dog off at Rosario and Juan’s for the day, and our dog had a great time! Rosario was excellent at keeping us updated. By the time we came to pick her up, she barely wanted to leave!”

“Jona was amazing with Caruso who is a very shy dog and has separation anxiety. She made him feel very comfortable within a few minutes of our arrival and he responded to her quickly. He usually backs away from strangers and hides behind me but she was able to establish a rapport with him quickly by sitting on the floor and talking to him until he became comfortable enough to let her pet him.”

“Erin is the best. We get so worried leaving our dog with someone beside my husband and myself but we feel so secure with him being there. She understands dogs so well and knows how to introduce and pace them. We’re so glad we found her. Our pup had the best time there!”

“Obi loved Victoria and her poodle Abby at the meet and greet so it was no surprise he was comfortable spending the day with them. I loved the pics and video as well as a quick recap of his day. Obi came home happy and tired. There is no doubt Obi will be back.”

“First time Rover user, and Erin was fantastic! She’s very communicative, honest, and friendly. Much better experience than the kennel. Highly recommended!! Thanks again, Erin!!”

About: I have taken care of pets for over 40 years and have had dogs and cats throughout my life. I have never met a dog who hasn’t been my fast friend. I am skilled at making sure a dog feels safe and heard. I’m retired and caring for your dog will be my full time job. I will ensure that your dog feels safe, loved and at home. My home has a fenced-in backyard to run and play in. I recently lost my baby dog and I miss her terribly, so your dog will be my surrogate puppy. This means that he/she will get unlimited love, with a place to sleep on my bed, couch, chair, lap…
“This was our 1-year-old puppy's first time away from home and she came back so happy, calm and relaxed it was clear she had a wonderful day and felt right at home! Han was so prompt to answer any time I had a question or wanted to check in as well. Winry will definitely be visiting her new friend again soon!”

“Amy and her husband, Rich, are awesome people. Our dog, Zeke, is special needs and it takes him a long time to trust. But he clearly became smitten with both of them! I think Zeke had a fun day at their home and was a tired pooch when we came home.”

“Nicole is simply amazing and my pup loves going to her home. It seems like it’s always an adventure for my dog at Nicole’s home. Whether she’s baking doggie cookies, playing with the pups or just hanging out, my dog, Penny, is always having fun. Nicole is attentive, caring and is just a great person. Thank you, Nicole! You’re the best!”

“This was my first time using Rover and it was such a great and smooth experience. Veronica is very prompt in her responses. My pup played with other dogs and was completely wiped out when he got home (which he rarely is). I also appreciate that she sent photos of him. I will definitely be using Veronica in the future!”

Cypress is a wonderful dog sitter for our little puppy Sabrina. She has a very clean home and nice area for our puppy to play and nap. She takes her on lots of walks and sends pictures of our puppy having a lot of fun. She is very patient and understands that puppies do take extra work and a watchful eye. We are so grateful we found Cypress and will definitely use her again for puppy daycare!

They made Chance and Po feel so at home. Both the home and back yard (fully fenced in) are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Anya was very welcoming of both of them, and somehow both Sarah and her husband made our incredibly shy dog feel comfortable enough to ask for pets, which absolutely never happens. 10/10
Jona was amazing with Caruso who is a very shy dog and has separation anxiety. She made him feel very comfortable within a few minutes of our arrival and he responded to her quickly. He usually backs away from strangers and hides behind me but she was able to establish a rapport with him quickly by sitting on the floor and talking to him until he became comfortable enough to let her pet him.

Daniela is amazing! My dog Whiskey is a rescue that does not trust a lot of humans so I was so incredibly happy when he recognized right away that Daniela was a safe and loving human. She is a natural with dogs and is a genuinely loving and caring person. We will definitely reach out to Daniela again for her stellar dog-sitting services.

Megan gave Mango a great puppy friend experience today. Megan is very experienced with dogs and helped Mango overcome her timidness so she could have fun. Megan also works in training with the dogs. Mango is tired out, but not overly exhausted. Thank you Megan!

Michelle was especially great for my first time using Rover and Mangos first day care day. She helped me navigate and understand the app and the rules. She also allowed a meet and get, which i didn't think was an option when I first started looking at the app. She suggested I always do a meet and greet. Michelle sent me photos and updates about how Mango was doing. She helped Mango be brave and play with the other dogs and son they were all playing.

Nina and Michael are amazing! Our pup Ollie boarded with them and went for daycare twice a week — it was truly the highlight of his week. When he first started, he was shy and a little unsure, but with their patient and caring approach, he gained so much confidence and really came out of his shell. They have a huge grassy backyard where the dogs can run and play, and Ollie absolutely loved spending time there with his buddies. He’d start wagging his tail the moment we pulled up! We always knew he was in great hands — Nina and Michael are attentive, trustworthy, and clearly love what they do. We’re so grateful for how much they’ve helped Ollie grow and for all the joy they brought him each week.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your North Springfield commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
