About: I have worked with dogs for over 10 years. I have trained dogs and worked for two daycares. I know about medications and common injuries prone to popular breeds. I enjoy walking with and interacting with dogs of all sizes. I have plenty of free time to watch and walk dogs whenever needed. I am available any time during the week/weekend that would be needed. Available for emergency walks or sittings if needed. I know how hard it is to leave your pets behind, so I prioritize clear communication and plenty of photo updates. My goal is to make sure your pet is happy, exercised, and showered with affection while you’re away. I provide a structured and safe environment for your animals. I understand that every pet has a unique temperament and specific needs, and I pride myself on being a calm, observant caregiver. I am comfortable administering medication, handling leash-reactive dogs, and maintaining strict feeding schedules. When your pet is with me, their safety and well-being are my absolute top priorities.

“Everything seems great. She asked if our drive was going long and offered to check in. Only the second time I have used a sitter and both times were Maura so far we are pleased. ”

About: With over 75 dogs under my care, past and present, I bring unparalleled expertise and heartfelt dedication to every pet care assignment. My extensive experience spans all sizes, ages, backgrounds, and needs of dogs, ensuring your furry friend receives not just care, but genuine companionship and understanding. From fostering German Shepherds to volunteering at local shelters, I've honed my skills in nurturing pets through transitions. Each visit isn't just a task—it's an opportunity to forge a bond and tailor care to your pet's unique needs, leaving them wagging their tail with joy. I am a freelancer/contractor so I have plenty of time to fit time with your pups into my day. It's an excellent break for me and I look forward to every visit! As a provider of walks and check-ins I will meet with you and your dog the first time to establish a relationship and acclimate with your dog while making sure this is a relationship that works for everyone. After that we can work together to make the most of my time with your pup regardless of the service provided.
About: Hey, friends! Welcome to Waggin' & Walkin'. I've had many types of animal family members in my life. From dogs and cats to a ferret and a guinea pig! I've also volunteered at the Rota Animal Welfare League while stationed in Spain. My duties included feeding, cleaning the grounds, and spending time with my furry pals. There's no doubt that your dog will be in great hands. Whether it's feeding them, walking them or simply relaxing with them to ensure they're comfortable, I'll be there when you can't to ensure they're good to go 💯👍. I have a really great schedule which will allow me ample time to take care of your pets needs. My typical work schedule is from 6am-2pm so any time after that I can assist. As of now I plan to perform the following services: Dog walks, Pop-ins and pet sitting at the client's home. I might add Boarding in the future. When you're not home I will do all tasks that you require to ensure your loved pet is nourished, interacted with and feels safe & happy.
“Mellissa is trustworthy, dependable, prompt, communicative, and affectionate. She was patient, kind, and caring to my two dogs (one is a 5-month-old puppy who is still potty training). Melissa went above and beyond to care for my dogs. She took them for walks, replaced their pee pads, supplied new food, drink, and treats, and played with them. I enjoy reading Melissa's notes and pictures, which she shares after each visit. Melissa is an amazing pet sitter, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Trent is our go-to sitter when we travel and we breathe easy knowing they’re in the best hands! He’s very communicative throughout his visits and truly loves your pets like his own. 10/10!”

About: Having taken care of a precious Springer Spaniel for 14 years (Cocoa), I'll do my best to take care of your dog as if he or she were my own. Yan checked in on our cats for about a week and followed all instructions perfectly. She sent us regular notes and amazing photos! We could tell they were very well taken care of and played a lot. She takes her job seriously and is good at it! I feel like she is definitely a cat person :) We appreciated her and will book again! Highly recommend!

Ni was amazing with my cat Stevie! She sends sooo many photos throughout the visit timeframe and treated him so nicely! She also is very organized with making a list of exactly what you need to be done for your pet while you’re away. Will definitely hire Ni again!

Josh was great! He was able to keep my cat Tommy well fed and entertained on a consistent basis while I was away. I appreciate his willingness to take care of him for almost a months I would definitely recommend him and hope to book him again in the future.

Many thanks, Samantha! So grateful we connected here. She’s been so good to and with my dog. He’s a grumpy old guy but she’s won him over :). She’s been great at keeping us in the loop with updates and pics, responsive to what he’s in the mood for (eg walk v hanging in the yard) and keeping an eye on how he’s doing. Really appreciate her working us into her schedule as we quickly became one of her regular clients. Highly recommend Samantha!

Michael did a great job looking after our dogs and cats. We were gone for two weeks and he was very reliable and responsive the whole time. We were confident everyone was very well taken care of and didn’t have to worry about them while we were away. We will definitely ask Michael to watch everyone again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
