About: I have almost 30 years of experience taking care of pets, from mostly dogs, to gerbils, to fish, to rabbits, and even cats. It all started by taking care of my aunt and uncle's dog and cat while they were away. I also helped my cousins with their rabbits when we were younger. Over the years, my family had many goldfish (won from fairs or carnivals), two gerbils, and a black lab who lived almost 14 years. In college, one of my roommates got a rabbit that we all worked together to take care of as well. Now, I mainly help family and friends with their pets while they're away, but I would love to branch out. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them in the backyard (or inside a house if it's allowed). I'm looking to try this out as a side gig and possibly turn it into more, so I am dedicated to find time that meets your schedule. Since I live in an apartment, I am unable to take care of any pets (not already listed on my lease) in my home. However, I am willing to come to your house and will make sure to lock any doors used and make sure everything is cleaned up as much as possible before leaving.
“I'm so happy I found Carrington! She gave detailed updates every day and I felt confident that Ollie was in good hands. I will definitely book with her again.”

“Viviana was so good to our pup while we were away! We couldn’t have had anyone better! Our pup gets some separation anxiety when we leave which is always hard on our family. But Viviana went above and beyond and made sure she was eating and that she was happy. She even sent picture and video updates at each visit! We couldn’t be happier.”

“Asia, was absolutely the best. She was so helpful for our family taking care of our puppy while we were away checking on him multiple times a day, always communicating and lots pictures. Thanks Asia for taking care of our baby boy!”

About: I used to work at Felix and Oscar so if you need any food recommendations, i’m your girl! I also have walked dogs for about 2 years as well as overnight care and drop ins. I just graduated from James Madison University and I am working a part time job so I am available to work mornings and afternoons as well! I have a 1 year old puppy and I take care of him as well as train him. We play, I give treats, and many walks! I also had a puppy throughout all my childhood and he lived to be 16 years old, so i have experience with senior dogs.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and hamsters! Big animal lover and I am very communicative and honest about any issues your animal might be having I’m available on weekends to help with your animals! Willing to help as long as I get a one day notice in advance to care for your pet I have a big yard next to my house that I can walk them around and play with them if needed, also can take long walks
“Sam always goes above and beyond to keep our cats Roasty & Toasty entertained and loved when we are away! It is great to be able to go on vacation and not have to worry. I highly recommend Sam.”

“Sarah took wonderful care of our cats- she sent detailed updates each day, and helped resolve a couple issues that popped up during the course of our booking (looking at you, automatic cat feeder)! I’d highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Elysse truly went above and beyond! My cats got locked in a bedroom with no food or water in the AM and anyone we could have asked to come over was already out of town for the holiday. Elysse dropped by to save my babies from their terrible prison (one was probably asleep and didn't care but the other HATES closed doors and was definitely freaking out). If my cats are stressed, I'm stressed so she not only took great care of my fur babies, but saved my sanity for the day as well.”

“Kelly took great care of our cats and house while we were out of town. She made sure the cats were played with and catered to their individual needs. We were happy with having her catsit!”

“We currently have a very playful 13 week old puppy and Sweta is amazing with him. This is our very first puppy and we were very nervous of leaving him home alone. We decided to find a dog sitter on Rover. We are so happy that we decided to book with Sweta. Our pup is always happy whenever Sweta checks in on him and I never have to worry because I’m confident that she will take good care of our pup. We’ve booked multiple times with her and she’s always very responsive. She gives updates while she’s with our puppy and would check with me to ask if there is anything else my puppy needs before leaving him alone, which I really appreciate. If this is your first time booking a dog sitter on Rover and you’re looking for an amazing sitter who will take good care of your fur baby, book with Sweta!”

“Reagan was an excellent and caring sitter who paid great attention to Dutchess and made sure she was comfortable with a stranger in the house. Will absolutely look to book her again!”

About: Having taken care of a precious Springer Spaniel for 14 years (Cocoa), I'll do my best to take care of your dog as if he or she were my own. I'm usually quite responsive when it comes to bookings and arrangements, responding within 15-20 minutes. I'll take them out to play and walk and feed them at least three times a day. I'll also bathe them, if need be. Most importantly, I will be as flexible and accommodating as possible to ensure that your dog will have fun while with me. I currently have open availability in my schedule, so I could most definitely sit your dog full-time if necessary. Above all else, I just love working with dogs as they are my favorite animal.
“Paula is phenomenal. She went above and beyond to provide a super care for our girl. She is prompt and reliable. We’re glad to have found someone we can absolutely trust and count on. Thank you, Paula!”

“Christine was so great and flexible with our senior pup. He had an unexpected health issue right before she left and she was great administering meds last minute and keeping us updated. Would highly recommend!”
“Gabby is amazing and I would wholeheartedly recommend her! Gabby has been coming to spend time with our puppy every day (and she absolutely loves Gabby). Gabby is communicative and very helpful and I am looking forward to continuing working with her!”

“Lucy was fantastic with my 3 dogs! I had her do a 30 min check-in mid day while I was at work, and she kept in touch with me while at the house, played with my kiddos and sent me pictures. The dogs loooove her! I will definitely book more time with Lucy for my dogs!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. My own family had 5 dogs each of different breed. And I used to feed, bathe and walk them. I also have taken care of family and friends pets. I’m currently working a part time job that is very flexible so I have lots of time to play and go in walks with your doggie. I am also available for boarding on weekends and during the week. Just have to discuss it before so I can organize my schedule, but I’m really flexible. I have a fenced yard where your dog can play and if needed I can crate the dog or take them out for a walk.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Franconia
Elvia was absolutely amazing. After the meet-and-greet, I knew my cat would be safe. She went above and beyond, respected our home and instructions, and made sure my cat wasn’t having any discomfort. She also sent me pictures and even picked up our mail/packages. My cat is a sweet girl but I could tell she felt safe and comfy. Would 100% book again.

This was my first time booking with Caroline, and I couldn’t have had a better experience! I felt completely comfortable leaving my animals in her care and genuinely didn’t worry about them at all while I was away. I came home to very happy, well-cared-for pets, and I’m beyond appreciative of everything Caroline did for them. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

Sarah was amazing. She played with Chesney, brushed him (and found the brush even when I couldn’t clearly remember where it was) and actually hid and observed him to figure out how he was getting through the fences inside the house. Chesney is a big guy and high energy and it didn’t faze Sarah! She kept me posted and really went the extra mile to make sure Chesney and my home were safe. I’d recommend Sarah to anyone and will definitely use her again
Alyssa is just the absolute best. It is such a wonderful peace of mind when we’re out of town to know our two fur babies are in such wonderful hands. Alyssa has watched our tabbies every time we have been out of town and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Lauren was fantastic with our cats while we were away for nearly 10 days! She kept us thoroughly updated with regular check-ins, and the cats absolutely adored her visits. She truly went above and beyond—not only did she handle the usual pet messes seamlessly, but she also carefully cleaned up after our cats managed to knock over and break a table lamp. On top of that, she was extremely punctual every single day. We are so relieved to have found someone so trustworthy and caring. Knowing our pets are in such great hands gives us complete peace of mind when traveling. We will definitely be booking Lauren again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
