About: I’ve been watching animals (mostly cats and dogs) for about 10 years now, anywhere from pet sitting at homes to going over and dog walking. Now, im currently a full time vet assistant and looking to walk dogs (and cat sit!) on the side again! I currently work full time overnights (3 twelve hour shifts) at an emergency veterinary hospital over the weekends. So while you're at work during the week, I am free to watch your fur babies! It varies on what I offer but I always send daily photos and updates throughout the day or walk! I also send updates on texts and always use communication!

About: Ever since my family got our first dog I have fallen in love with taking care of animals. I have taken care of my pet, friends and family’s pets, and recently even worked at a doggy daycare and hotel! Leaving my dogs behind while out of town for six days was a first for me, so I was naturally pretty nervous going into the process. I interviewed several people before meeting Velkin in person. My girlfriend and I hosted her for a meet and greet, and her genuine, welcoming presence stood out immediately. There was nothing fake or performative about her. She has the kind of ground-level authenticity that puts you at ease right away. My Chihuahuas took to her immediately as well, which said everything. If you know anything about Chihuahuas, they do not warm up to strangers quickly, if at all. Hiring her was an easy decision, and she did not disappoint. She came by twice a day to handle feeding, water, outdoor time, and spending quality time with them. Beyond basic care, she treated my dogs like her own. I received regular photos and detailed updates after her visits, giving me complete peace of mind. I also felt totally comfortable giving her unfettered access to my home while I was away. On top of everything, she was remarkably flexible. When I came home a day early, she was gracious enough to modify the booking and remove that final day. Since she had reserved that slot for me, it would have been completely fair for her to charge for the full six days, so that gesture was unexpected and extremely kind. Velkin did a phenomenal job, and I have zero regrets about hiring her. She provides world class service, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. Amelia is awesome!!!! Was our first time trying this service and she instantly put us at ease. Kind, caring, and obviously passionate about taking good care of our furry family members. When she stopped by for a meet & greet, they (my 2 enthusiastic big dogs and one nonchalant cat) immediately sensed she was there to engage and play with them and I knew all would be well, and it was!! Patricha did a great job taking care of my cats. She took time and effort to gain their confidence and play with them. She was reliable and timely with her visits and great about following directions for feeding, etc. She went above and beyond to leave things neat and clean. She was great about communicating, and that freed me from worrying. When I came home, I found my cats relaxed and happy. Very grateful, and would hire her again (and hopefully will).
Rachel was the best! She is competent and communicative. It was easy to go out of town because she loved on my dog and sent wonderful photos and fun stories about their adventures! Both my boys are older (13 and almost 15) and one has 3 legs. She was great at keeping my reactive big dog calm and he loved all her cuddles and treats and trips outside! She comforted my small tripod through the thunderstorm and he greatly appreciated her lifting him up onto the couch for snuggles and her carrying him home when he got tired after she let him explore and sniff out all his fave places. Thanks and the boys say woof!

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
