“Gabriela was amazing with Blaze. He came home happy and tired…Gabriela sent lots of pictures and we could see the fun Blaze was having. Would definitely board with Gabriela again.”
About: I offer boarding, day-sitting, and walking. I can watch medium and small dogs and cats. I love animals and have 2 dogs of my own! Your little one will be in good hands. I will give updates and follow your care instructions carefully! I am currently a graduate student and I only need to go into school one day a week. I am mostly at home caring for my own dogs, and I would love to open our home to other pets too. I have two dogs of my own. All furry visitors will have their own area to get comfortable and they are allowed on the furniture. There is a nice grassy area nearby where nice walks can be done and potty breaks can be given whenever necessary.
“Amie was just a delight to work with! She was incredibly responsive, kind and communicative. She took the best care of my boy and sent lots of pictures and updates. We cannot wait to work with her again!”

“Tia and Mario took fantastic care of Samson! They were super easy to coordinate with and provided updates throughout his stay where you could see he was having a great time. Would recommend and hope to have them watch Samson in the future!”

“Had a fantastic experience! From the very first message, they were responsive, friendly, and professional. They took excellent care of our dog Cubbie, sending regular updates and photos that put our minds at ease while we were away. Will definitely book again!”

“We've had various dog sitters and left our pup at a kennel several times. Sidnei is, by far, the best option. She was attentive to our dog, patient when he growled at her sweet dog Rio and tried to eat his food 😬, and very communicative with us. She sent lots of pictures and replied right away via text. We will definitely be requesting her again!”

About: I treat any animal like it was my own. I would align it the same way as caring for your child because they deserve the very best. It fits in very well. I work in a hybrid environment so when I work from home I have more flexibility forwards the second half of the week. I have a fenced in dog park across the street and a safe/pet friendly neighborhood. Perfect for dogs to get out their energy and use the bathroom.
“Rae was great! My boy, Walter, sometimes takes minute to adjust and settle in. But, with Rae he fit right it immediately and had so much fun. She took pictures and let me know he was OK, and even brought him on some errands with her. I’ll definitely be booking with Rae again.”

“Vanessa was wonderful through the whole process. Quick to reply, available for meet and greet. Showed great concern and attention to detail for feeding and care of our dog. She also sent photos and updates as to how things were going. I will definitely be using her again.”

“Nicole was wonderful! Her updates were thoughtful, informative, and really reassuring. I always appreciated knowing how Banks was doing and what he was up to. He had such a great time with lots of play, little adventures, and enrichment. Banks can be a bit anxious, and Nicole was so patient and kind in helping him feel comfortable and settle in. He also loved spending time with little miss Harper. I can’t recommend Nicole enough. It’s clear she truly cares, and we’re so grateful for the great care she gave Banks. We’ll definitely be booking again.”

“John was an amazing sitter for our golden while we were away on an international trip for a week. He sent tons of photos of Kobe on his numerous walks and trips to the dog park. We will definitely book with John again!”

“We are so glad to find Jodee and Aj! Very caring and attentive sitters who made sure to update us. They took the time to learn about Bear and make sure they made his stay alittle vacation ✨ Definitely recommend Jodee and AJ!”

“Boy, i feel really lucky to have come across Donna. Donna was awesome with Suzie. I was concerned since Suzie can be a feisty pup. But she took to Donna in no time and they really seemed to hit it off. Donna was very fast to respond and my mind was so at ease knowing that Suzie was in her care. I think that is about the highest praise i can possibly give.”

“I felt at ease knowing that Odin was with Han. She took such good care of him and she would send me updates daily with adorable pictures. She is the sweetest and I know Odin had a great time with her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Springfield
Carlos was wonderful with our 14 year old beagle-bassett, providing great care and keeping us updated with many pictures. He is very caring and maintains a positive environment for his dogs, giving us peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely go back and highly recommend Carlos to others in the Northern VA area.
We had a great experience with Alyssa, and our pup seemed to really enjoy their time together. Alyssa was always great with communication and care, and was extra nice when our doggo developed an ear infection while staying with her - even texting us to see if there was anything that she could do before we got back to pick her up. We would not hesitate to have our dog stay with her again.

Joanna was wonderful with our 80lb dog! She sent pictures and messages daily with updates and was quick to respond if I sent her a message. My dog came home happy and tired! Will definitely refer Joanna to our friends and will definitely rebook with her in the future! Thank you!!

This is Ato's first time stay with Amanda and he absolutely loved staying with her. Not only did Amanda updated me with daily pictures and comments, but she also accommodated Ato's every need. Ato is a very shy dog, but the fact that he allowed Amanda to give him belly rubs says it all. I will definitely have Amanda in mind whenever I need a dogsitter in the future.

Sarah was great with Ace and kept me updated throughout the entire weekend. She sent lots of pictures and videos, which I really appreciated and made me feel confident that Ace was happy and well taken care of! I would definitely recommend Sarah and would be happy to book with her again!

We left our 5yo partially blind pug with Fabiola for almost two weeks and she took great care of him. She was very good about providing multiple photo/video updates throughout the boarding so we got to see how much fun he was having. Despite not being familiar with this heat-sensitive breed, she was diligent about following his routine schedule & medicated eye drops we provided. We’re grateful we were able to find such a caring pet sitter. We picked up a healthy and happy pup and will be using her again. Highly recommend!

I am so thankful for the abundance of amazing energy that LuLu received during her stay. Constant communication, updates, photos, warm greeting, questions and care at drop off, were all apart of our first experience. I will surely rebook and be a returning satisfied customer.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
