“Zosha was an amazing sitter. He was responsive from the outset and took the task seriously. He was flexible and communicative throughout our dog’s stay, creating total peace of mind while we were away. I plan to book with Zosha again in the future and would recommend him to anyone looking for a kind, attentive, and responsible sitter.”

“This is the second time since I’ve moved out of state that we’ve returned to visit and had Susan keep my fur baby. He was too excited when I mentioned her name on the way to her home. I trust Susan explicitly with my 4 year old miniature poodle. She was his first sitter as a puppy and he just loves her, her husband and her two fur babies. You can’t go wrong choosing Susan if you need care for your pups.”

“Byamba and family were great hosts to our Mary. He shared photos daily which made us reassured she was happy and well cared for. Will definitely have Byamba host Mary again.”

“Gail was very accommodating to our schedule. She sent multiple updates throughout the day which put our mind at ease. Casper loved cozying up to her and he had a great time during his stay. We would definitely use Gail again.”

“Cathy was very responsible taking care of our dog. She followed all of our instructions for our dog and kept us informed every day on how he was doing. She sent pictures and videos of our dog and spent a lot of time playing with him and walking him. She is a caring pet sitter. We would definitely use her again in the future!”

“Sush was a great host for our cavapoo. Drop-offs and pick-ups were easy and convenient, and it felt like we were leaving our dog with a friend. Sush was responsive and sent updates throughout his visit. The other friends who stayed during his visit got along well with him.”

“Our dog Stark loved his time at Shi's. Stark had some initial anxiety since we had recently moved and it was a new environment. Shi was great and was able to work with Stark to address and mitigate his anxiety. Stark also had a flare up with his skin allergies and Shi provided his meds while we were out of town. It was a relief knowing he was in good hands while we were on vacation and he was back to 100% when we picked him up. Would highly recommend and also their dog Jealous is awesome. Our pup loved his time there.”

“Words cannot express how grateful we are to have found Temisha!! We have had some not so great experiences with boarding in the past and were really anxious about finding the right fit for our girls. Temisha was everything we were looking for and more! She loved on our girls like they were her own! It was so hard to be away from them for a whole week, but she sent us lots of photos and videos which helped us to feel more connected while we were away. And, you could tell that the girls were having a great time! When we went to pick them up, as excited as they were to see us, they still ran over to her butts wiggling all the way! Her dog, Max, is an absolute sweetheart as well and it was really nice for our girls to have some positive socialization with another pup! Temisha is super responsive, kind, trustworthy, understanding, and, as another one of her clients said...she really is the best!! We know that we have found the right sitter for our girls going forward!”

About: Hi there! If you’re looking for a cozy, safe, and super loving environment for your furry best friend, you’ve definitely found the right place. I’ve been surrounded by paws and purrs my whole life. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages—from tiny, energetic 1-month-old babies to sweet, 15-year-old seniors who just want a quiet place to snuggle. My wife, our friends, and I are all huge animal lovers, so your pet will get endless cuddles, belly rubs, and attention here! I'd love to help you with boarding, drop-in visits, and dog walking. For boarding, we have an awesome setup in McLean: a comfy 1-bedroom place with a fully fenced backyard. It’s absolutely perfect for safe, off-leash zoomies and relaxing in the sun! We also have a house in Vienna, which is home to our three chill, 2-year-old American Shorthair cats. As a devoted pet dad myself, I know exactly how hard it is to leave your babies behind. That’s why I treat every pet exactly like my own. I pay close attention to healthy diets, love setting up fun enrichment (I even grow fresh cat grass!), taking the pups on nice long walks, and I don't mind giving them a bath if they get a little messy from playing. I promise to send you lots of cute photo updates so you can relax knowing they're having a great time. I can't wait to meet you and your pets! Pet care is a seamless part of our daily routine! My wife works fully remote, meaning someone is almost always home to provide round-the-clock love and attention. I work a hybrid schedule and only go into the office two days a week. By teaming up, we guarantee your pet gets consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of midday cuddles. You will never have to worry about your furry family member being left alone for long stretches—they will always have a loving human companion nearby to play with or snuggle next to! For dogs, our McLean location features a fully fenced backyard, providing a perfectly secure space for off-leash zoomies and safe outdoor play. For cats staying at our Vienna home, we offer flexible setups: a social 'Youth Hostel' vibe with our three friendly resident cats, or a quiet 'Private Suite' for pets who need their own peaceful space. Because our own cats are notorious little thieves who are always trying to sneak a bite of our bread and human food, we’ve become experts at pet-proofing! We maintain strict habits to keep our entire home meticulously clean, organized, and free of any accessible hazards. You can rest assured that our whole house is a 100% pet-friendly and secure environment. We strictly follow your feeding and medication guidelines, always double-check that gates and doors are secure, and tailor our care to your pet's needs. Whether that means taking dogs for long, stimulating walks, setting up engaging enrichment activities, or giving them a gentle bath after a messy play session, your pet is in safe and loving hands!
“Millie always enjoys her time with Isabelle and her family! She is always excited to see them! Isabelle provide constant updates and pictures which is always good to see while we are away”

“Kevin and his family is such a great support system for our family and with supporting our dog Dexter. He gives lots of updates and it’s clear our dog is very well cared for.”

“Donovan was fantastic for our Xiqui. Best value for money on Rover by far. Not to mention attentive and proactive (in buying toys that suited Xiqui’s needs and interests). It helps Donovan’s parents are around the house and so Xiqui had someone around most of the time. Lovely home with great fenced area that backs up against a forested trail area. Their mild mannered dog Sophia was a bonus for Xiqui. All around 5 out of 5!”

“She was so amazing. Very nice and took him on a lot of walks. Also sent so many pictures. Other people you have to fight for proof of life. She is a sweetheart. Will definitely use her again.”

“Brianna was wonderful! The girls were well taken care of & had no issues giving them their pills every morning. Our girls will be back for another stay — we are so lucky to have found her. Highly recommend!”

“We were thankful to have Laurie and Richard for our dog sitters. Our dogs were happy and well taken care of. We had plenty of pictures and updates and it was a good experience!”

“Cheyenne did an incredible job taking care of my pup while I was away for five days. They had a blast playing and staying active, and it was evident when I returned home. He was exhausted in the best way possible. Cheyenne was very responsive and kept me updated throughout the week. I highly recommend her.”

“Suzi was so great with our 16 year old, senior pup. We were nervous at first since we don’t often have others watch Roxy. Suzi was very patient with her and gave us regular updates and pictures, which we really enjoyed and appreciated. She even went out of her way to purchase additional wet food for Roxy (we sent her with wet and dry). We know Roxy enjoyed herself. Would highly recommend!”
“Nadine took such great care of our Stella! She was wonderful about sending detailed daily updates and photos. We were so appreciative that she was flexible and could watch Stella an extra day for us on short notice. We would definitely book with her again!”

“With a senior dog, we do get nervous about leaving mango new places. I would say within five minutes of the meet and greet it was clear that Shanilka and her husband would be taking great care of him. They asked all the right questions and during our stay sent regular updates to make sure we knew he was in good hands. Would definitely use again!”

Feeling very fortunate that we found such a terrific sitter for our girl, Izzi…and so close by in McLean! Grace was great to work with, communicated very well so we knew all was good! Izzi was immediately comfortable with Grace and came home happy after a 3 day stay that was extended to 4. We highly recommend Grace and will use her services again! Thank you!

Mee Jeong took fantastic care of my dachshund during his five night stay at her home. She was very communicative and I know he had a great time in her yard. Even when Sosis had a little irritation in his paw, she kept us updated and let him wear her dog’s cone. We will definitely book her again. Thank you, Mee Jeong!

Megan S & Erin K were spectacular sitters for my two dogs and my daughter's dog. They sent us daily updates during the 2 weeks we were gone and sent us multiple pictures each day and periodic videos showing them having a great time in the back yard running around with the other dogs. We had to extend their stay when our flight was cancelled and we asked if our pups could stay 2 more days! No problem!! This was the second time they have watched our dogs and we would definitely recommend them for dog care. Regards, Karen E.

This was my first time leaving my dog with someone new and it went wonderfully! Nicole gave regular updates with pictures which made my time away easy because I wasn’t worried about my baby. She even asked permission to take him to a friends BBQ, he loves to get out of the house. She took the best care of him in my place and I will absolutely use her again!

We had the pleasure of having Loreen S. watch our dog for 4 days and nights. What a joy it was to have her and her family taking care of our beloved dog. She sent us pictures and videos of her and her family lovingly taking care of her all the time. We loved getting them! It was such a relief to know that she was being so well care for. We recommend her to anyone who loves their dog and who wants to be assured that their dog will be lovingly cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
