“Tehani did a phenomenal job at taking care of our pup while we were away on a trip. We were given frequent updates and we can tell she really treats our pup with love. Would highly recommend her services!”

“this was the second time Sky has watched my dog and she was amazing! She watched her for an extended stay and took very good care of her and I could tell from the daily updates and photos/videos that my dog was enjoying her time and felt very relaxed and comfortable. would highly recommend trusting sky to take care of your dog!”

“Anne Marie took such great care of Danny, she was patient and kind to him as a senior dog and just loved on him! I will definitely be asking Anne Marie to care for him again when I need it.”
“Stephanie and Luis did an amazing job dog sitting! Communication was great from start to finish, and they kept me updated with pictures, which really put my mind at ease. They were so welcoming and even created a special space in their home for Coco and Chloe. I’d definitely trust them and rebook again!”

“Fantastic! Stayed in touch about Pippin while we were gone (and was tolerant of his health quirks!) and was very flexible in planning our drop-off/pick ups. We came back to a healthy, happy, dog and never once worried about him.”

“Helena is so kind and responsive. She watched Charlie for 8 days and sent us pics/videos of Charlie’s daily walks and of Charlie having fun with her little dog.We also truly appreciated that she only took care of one dog at a time, so Charlie’s bed came back clean and didn’t have other pet hair. I would absolutely entrust Helena with Charlie again for a long term stay.”

“Emma and her fiance Joe were fantastic! We loved that Stella got all the 1:1 time and were provided daily updates showing just how spoiled she was. Emma was great about making sure Stella got in a daily walk (her normal routine at home), and we appreciated that they both rolled with the fact that Stella is an early riser. We will 100% book with Emma again!”

“Kevin is FANTASTIC! Morty is super fun too! They're organized, thoughtful, friendly, outgoing, flexible and kind. Our dog came home with better manners than when we left! We look forward to using their services again soon!”

“Leah is wonderful! She spent a lot of time with Barker and took her to the dog park for extra fun. She was super flexible with pick up and drop off. We’d definitely book Leah again!”

“Krystal is one of my favorite sitters to work with. Unfortunately, Max was not on his best behavior during his last stay but Krystal was very understanding and took measures to keep everyone safe and secure. I will definitely work with Krystal again, if she will have us. :)”
“Rae took good care of Jax. She took him in after a very last minute request from me to board for a weekend and was communicative. Would recommend her for anyone needing dog care boarding.”

“Debra is amazing! I appreciate how thorough she was in ensuring that the arrangement was a good fit for all of us but particularly for Nova who spent a wonderful weekend getting all the love and attention from Debra. We look forward to more weekends with Debra.”
“Sabrina was an incredible sitter for my pup, Leia! She was so caring, kind, and attentive to Leia’s needs. Leia typically takes some time to warm up in a new place given her separation anxiety, but Sabrina was able to make her feel right at home almost instantly. When Leia got anxious from noises outside, Sabrina even played calming music to help her relax. Her communication was fantastic, she kept me in the loop constantly and sent tons of photos. With the extreme heat and poor air quality during Leia’s stay, Sabrina made sure Leia’s safety was her top priority. Even over a longer 5 day stay, I had complete peace of mind knowing Leia was being looked after like she was her own. I’m so grateful and would absolutely book Sabrina again in a heartbeat!”

“Awesome sitter! Xena loves going over to Aisha’splace!she even had a bath when I picked her up today! One less thing I needed to do. Thanks so much see you this Friday.”
“Vinny loved his stay with Nicole! It is clear she loves animals. She was thorough and communicative and sent me the best photos of them cuddling, snoozing, walking. He had a great time and even took over Nicole’s dog’s bed - that’s how comfortable he was in her home. Will definitely book again!”

“Rodrigo did a great job taking care of my sweet Frenchie, Bella. He sent me daily pictures and made sure to listen carefully to my care instructions. His own dog, Luna, was a great playmate to Bella and she came home happy and exhausted. I'd definitely use Rodrigo again!”

“Rut was so great with my pups! They seemed very comfortable their entire stay. I greatly appreciated the updates and pictures Rut provided. I’ll definitely be leaving my girls with her the next time I have to travel.”

“We are truly thankful to Michael for taking care of our dog while we traveled. She clearly had a great time and we appreciated the regular messages and photos of walks during her stay. Thanks Michael!”

About: Currently work as a Pediatric Physician Assistant and love doing Rover on the side! currently have a 2 adopted rescue from South Korea. I’ve been doing Rover with all different types of dogs. I love getting my steps in and would love to have another friend join me whether in the hot or cold weather. Currently working full time and have more time to spend with other dogs on the weekends! I would love meet your dog and give them all the love. I love getting my steps in so we could go on walks together, but also if your dog just needs some attention at home I would love to stop by and let them on a bathroom break and give them lots of love!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Morgan and her family took great care of our little dog, Pepper. Even though they have a big dog, pictures confirmed our 12-lb Pepper was quite comfortable around him. She sent pictures daily and responded promptly to any questions. It appeared our little dog had a fine time staying with Morgan and her family and we will be quite comfortable reaching out to Morgan when we need someone to dog-sit Pepper.

Jeanne takes such great care of our Sadie. Great outgoing & positive personality with a clear passion for dogs. Sadie looks so comfy in all the pictures and it’s clear how much she enjoys staying with them 😊. Sadie loves hanging with Jeanne’s pup too, they looked like best buds. Highly recommend Jeanne to watch your dog!

We had a great experience with Luiz and Lydia for boarding our special needs senior cat to take an overseas vacation. They were extremely caring and competent, following through with genuine loving attention to detail for Maia’s special diet, timing of her feeds, medication, and noting nuances in her behavior as she is on hyperthyroid medication. We received amazing photos, videos, and meaningful updates that made us smile and gave us extreme peace of mind while being an ocean away. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
