Pet care experience

1:1 Rosslyn/Arlington WFH Pet Care

Living in the Northern Virginia/DC area, I provide walking, boarding, and drop-in services with a strict emphasis on attentive, 1:1 care—your dog will always be the only pet in my home. Originally from Boston, I relocated to the DC area after graduating from Georgetown University in 2015. I work remotely full-time in the defense space, which allows me to provide active, hands-on care and easily maintain your dog's regular routine. Having grown up caring for pets and even running a local pet care business with 300+ clients through my teenage years, I have experience with all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Since starting on Rover in 2018, I have provided unanimous five-star care to over 100 clients. As a former All-American soccer player, keeping active is second nature. I love having a dog along for long, brisk walks and also enjoy high-energy fetch sessions in the fenced area or at nearby Gateway Dog Park. That said, if your dog is older or more of a chiller, I'm equally happy to match their energy hanging on the couch and watching a movie (with plenty of head pat/belly rub breaks). Because I work from home, I manage my schedule carefully and only accept bookings when I can guarantee my undivided attention. I look forward to giving your best friend the safe, stress-free, and incredibly fun stay that they deserve. I would love to schedule a time to meet you and your best friend - please reach out to say hello!

Charles was excellent - professional and supportive of a last minute reservation. Not only that, he coordinated and prepared with an international pet shipper to ensure our dog was able to fly overseas and meet us at the end of the stay. 100% recommend.

This was our second time boarding with Charlie and it was another outstanding stay. My dog was so excited to see him and clearly felt right at home in his place. I also really appreciated the updates and adorable photos Charlie sent to let me know how everything was going. He even went above and beyond to return a fav squeaky toy we left behind. Charlie is fantastic and we have already booked another stay with him this summer.

My dog had an fantastic stay with Charlie. From the initial meet and greet through drop off and pick up, I really appreciated Charlie’s attention to detail and excellent communication. It was clear from the start that he was focused on making sure my dog had the best stay possible. The photos and updates I got showed how comfortable Stewie was with Charlie and that he was having a great time. Highly recommend Charlie!

Charlie has helping us out with walking Luna for about a year now but this was the first time Luna boarded with him. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! He was incredibly responsive and shared updates on Luna throughout the stay. And even when Luna had a tiny bit of tummy troubles, he kept us informed about it without causing alarm. We felt like Luna was in safe and reliable hands throughout her stay! We’re so grateful and look forward to entrusting Luna to him again during future travels!

“Charlie is amazing!!! Our dog Luna adores him. He’s a super friendly guy and incredibly reliable - very responsive to our messages and always sends updates. This was the second time Luna stayed with him and he was fantastic as always. We’re incredibly grateful that we know Luna is safe and cared for when she stays with Charlie!”

Working from home full-time gives me a highly flexible schedule, making it easy to integrate your dog's regular routine into my day. I make sure they get frequent bathroom breaks/short walks and usually two longer walks (up to ~5 miles total) to keep them happy, active, and relaxed.

Safety, trust & environment

My Goal: A Stress-Free Stay for Pet & Owner • Dedicated 1:1 Care: Your dog will be the only pet in my care for the duration of their stay. • Routine-First Approach: Careful attention to and respect for the exact schedule and care guidelines you outline. • Frequent Updates: Multiple photo, video, and text message check-ins sent throughout the day. • Spacious Apartment: A comfortable, 1,100 sq. ft. Rosslyn apartment featuring a furnished guest room. • Full Home Access: Couch and bed privileges are fully allowed (and encouraged!). • Active Outdoor Options: Fenced-in areas for play and a quiet, walkable neighborhood, plus a short walk to Gateway Dog Park (featuring dedicated small and large dog sections). • Clean & Safe Environment: Equipped with HEPA air filtration, reverse osmosis water filtration, Google/Nest video monitoring, and nightly Roomba floor cleaning. Leaving your best friend can be stressful - there’s no reason it should be!

A typical day

A typical day during a stay with me centers around a balanced mix of activity, structure, and relaxation. Our routine includes long walks around the Rosslyn area, active indoor or outdoor play/fetch sessions, and winding down in the evening on the couch with plenty of attention and love. As a unique bonus, I love to provide clients with a set of professionally taken and edited photos of their dog during their stay (weather/time permitting). Having worked part-time creating digital media since college, I really enjoy using those skills to capture special moments of your best friend that you can keep forever.

To ensure the safest and most comfortable stay possible, as detailed a primer or info sheet as you want to provide is always very much appreciated. Specifically, please share: • Preferences & Routines: Any unique habits, favorite toys, or comforting routines. • Triggers & Behavior: Any specific preferences or triggers to avoid (particularly on walks) so we can prevent any surprises or dangerous situations. • Veterinary Info: Your preferred local veterinary clinic contact information in case of an emergency - (though knock on wood, in eight years of Rover sitting I've never had a single vet emergency!). **Note: While my profile is set to accept dogs up to 100 lbs, I typically cap guests at around 65 lbs to ensure they have plenty of room to stretch out comfortably in my apartment**
