“We are so appreciative of the great care that Dori takes of our dog Beau while we are out of town! Beau always has a fabulous time and Dori keeps us posted with lots of photos and videos. We would not hesitate to highly recommend Dori!”

“Roshni to the rescue! My flight kept being delayed thanks to weather, and she was able to look after my pup for an extra night. Her place has become "happy camp" for my pup Maddie... My pup (all 13lbs of her) actually pulled me towards Roshni's place from around the corner! She was SO excited to be dropped off, and it was such a relief for MY separation anxiety. I got heart warming pictures while I was gone too, and saw Maddie was right at home on Roshni's lap, or being taken for walks at her favorite places. Maddie misses her already :( I will absolutely book Roshni again, and will recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible dog lover. THANK YOU ROSHNI YOU ARE THE BEST!! - Maddie and Sam”

About: I am a true Capitol Hill dog lover and I have always had a strong passion for animals, mostly for dogs. I have been caring for dogs since I was child, taking care of my mother’s beloved shitzu. Taking care of her helped me acquire basic canine behavior and taught me the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Most recently I raised my own best friend, Gelato an English Bulldog. I gained my breeder experience with Gelato and cared for her and her 6 puppies, until they were rehomed at 8 months. I enjoy taking long walks, which I consider the ultimate stress reliever and best way to exercise. I have no problem getting my hands dirty. I have 20 years of experience in the customer service field and enjoy striving to provide the best experience to my clients. In my personal time I am spending time with my 2 little girls teaching them how to play sports, and of course how to be loving pet owners. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page! I’m currently working part time and will be available to walk most pets during early mornings hours during the week and mid day and evenings during the weekend. I definitely would like to know your pets temperament, and what might scare them. I know they will feel most comfortable at home but if they are with me, I’d like to keep a calm, pet friendly setting for them to be comfortable in.
“Haydenn is literally an angel on this earth. He has such a way with all of the dogs, I feel so confident leaving my pup with him. I know shes probably happier with him, than at home with me😂 He gives great pupdates and sends pics, always flexible with dates and times, and even helped us out in a pinch.”

“It’s no wonder Jenna is a star sitter! As a first-time Rover user, I was extremely jittery leaving my pup with a stranger. But all nerves were quickly abated thanks to Jenna’s regular updates and photos. She was mindful of my senior dog’s ailments, quirks, and tendencies. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter- highly recommend!”

“Supon was Amazing!! I’ve never seen a Rover sitter so naturally great at making dogs comfortable. Supon is an excellent communicator - he sends so many happy pictures of my dog I couldn’t keep up! Zeta was definitely as much on vacation as I was when she was with him. I look forward to using his services in the future, and so does my dog!”

“Cindy was amazing! Very tentative with pictures and updates. Luna wanted nothing to do with me when she came 😂😂 she wanted to go back! lol Cindy made it convenient by picking up and dropping Lu off since it was going to be logistically a nightmare for me! She even noticed that Lu has some hip issue with her age and gave some great advice, thankfully I was already in the process of getting her checked out but it was great that she noticed too. Will definitely be rebooking!”

“Katherin was great with my dog Pluto who has separation anxiety! She was very understanding with him and took him on many little adventures around the city. Provided so many updates. Would highly recommend for your fur baby!”

“Laurie and Richard took excellent care of my senior pup, who was very relaxed throughout her stay. I would definitely use their services again.”

“Anne Marie took such great care of Danny, she was patient and kind to him as a senior dog and just loved on him! I will definitely be asking Anne Marie to care for him again when I need it.”
“Joseph did a great job of taking care of Blue! He was very responsible and kept me updated, Blue seemed to quickly get comfortable and enjoy his time with Joseph. Will definitely be boarding with him again!”

“Maryjo was a great sitter! She kept us updated with pictures of Kailey and was incredibly responsive. She was helpful with Kailey’s medication schedule and understood the needs of a nervous dog. Thank you so much!”

“This was Shannon's second time watching Luna and once again she did an excellent job. If you're looking to hire a cat sitter, I highly recommend her as she is very experienced and communicative. 10/10.”

“Tehani was great! She was kind, easy to communicate with, and sent me plenty of updates throughout my pups’ stay. They both came back to me happy and healthy. I would definitely use Tehani again and would recommend her to anyone else.”

“Staying with Elizabeth was a wonderful experience for us and our pups. She is responsive, friendly, and chill—what our pups needed. A great experience overall.”

“Pacho had a great time with Nico and his pup Ube! This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little apprehensive, but Nico made us feel so comfortable! He was very responsive and made sure he was equipped with all the info he needed before we went on vacation -- made it seamless while we were away. We received pictures or videos everyday, and there was great communication for pick up. We're relieved to have found someone to watch Pacho and I'm sure Pacho will miss Ube until next time!”

“Marta is a true animal lover. She was so sweet with my cat and looked after him like he was her own. She clearly has had experience owning pets herself in the past, and also communicated updates proactively with me throughout my time away. Thanks Marta!”

“Fantastic service, will book again! Really appreciate the excellent care and communication, and the kindness and flexibility when I needed to extend my booking because my travel schedule changed. Felt assured that my cats were safely integrated into a new temporary family and well taken care of while I was away.”

“This review is long overdue! Beth has watched our very energetic pug mix a few times now and each time Harry comes back home exhausted! Anytime we see Beth and Bastian in the neighborhood Harry is so excited so we know he has a great time with them! Beth is also super responsive and accommodating!”

“Michael was phenomenal as he took care of Sammy, my beagle. He was friendly and communicative and Sammy enjoyed staying with him. I highly recommend Michael.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washington, D.C.
Taylor went above and beyond to make sure our 3 cats were comfortable. She sent us daily updates. To let us know how they were doing. She rolled with the punches, of them having accidents and puking. And she overall eased much of the stress in having your pets sat.

A dog knows a good friendly person when he meets them and that was Charlie’s experience with Jim. We couldn’t ask for an easier process and Jim was very communicative and sent pics and updates every day and took great care of our pup. Everything was really a breeze and I could tell Charlie enjoyed his time. Jim’s experience with dogs and comfort was easy to spot and we would definitely recommend him!

Max took great care of our senior Havanese, carrying her on his stairs as needed, administering daily medication, and taking her for slow walks around the neighborhood, where she met lots of new human and canine friends. I'm sure she will be happy to go back to Max anytime!

Florelith took great care of our dog! Our dog can be a little nervous around new people but quickly became comfortable with Florelith. We appreciated the photos and updates she sent. She had another dog staying with her which worked out well because our dog enjoyed having another dog there. I would use Florelith again if we need care in the future.

Roger was fantastic! Very responsive and dependable. He sent tons of pics, videos, and updates, which we loved. Our pups looked very comfortable and happy in Roger’s home, and they got along great with his dog as well. Dont know who enjoyed their vacation more, us or our pups! Would definitely rebook with Roger anytime he is available.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Many sitters in DC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
