“Ollie has the best time with Donna and always comes back so happily tired! And we love all the adorable updates she sends. Ollie is excited to head back to Donna’s next week for more fun!!”

“Elizabeth is amazing! She treated our pup Ollie like one of her own and made his stay feel like a true vacation. From fun adventures and plenty of playtime to the sweetest snuggles, it's clear she genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. She sent us the cutest photos and videos throughout his stay, which we looked forward to every day. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Ollie had the best time, and we’re so grateful to have found her!”

About: Hi! I'm Krista and I genuinely love spending time with dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I recently said goodbye to my sweet and quirky 12‑year‑old German Shepherd. Caring for her throughout the years has given me experience with all the different stages from energetic pups to the oldies with mobility challenges and slower routines. My shepherd struggled with anxiety around other dogs, so I’m very familiar with reading body language, creating safe distance, and keeping walks calm and controlled. Throughout the years, I have cared for and spent ample time with doggos belonging to friends and family members and look forward to the opportunity to give others peace of mind when they need to leave their loved ones. Lots of walks, pets, play time and of course, photos/videos for owners! I work from home so there are lots of opportunities to go outside. There are a few parks nearby and lots of grassy areas. I also have dog beds, dishes and plenty of toys! Please note, my building unfortunately has restrictions on the following dog breeds: Akita, Alaskan Malamutes, Chow Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Malamute, Pit Bull Breeds, Presa Canarios, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Terrier and Wolf Dogs. I live in a condo building but there's lots of areas outside to venture around! I do own a crate if needed/preferred. I will bring your dog on many walks and ensure they have lots of play time (for the youngins) and rest (for the oldies) :)
“With a senior dog, we do get nervous about leaving mango new places. I would say within five minutes of the meet and greet it was clear that Shanilka and her husband would be taking great care of him. They asked all the right questions and during our stay sent regular updates to make sure we knew he was in good hands. Would definitely use again!”

“Rodrigo did a great job taking care of my sweet Frenchie, Bella. He sent me daily pictures and made sure to listen carefully to my care instructions. His own dog, Luna, was a great playmate to Bella and she came home happy and exhausted. I'd definitely use Rodrigo again!”

“Joe was great—easy-going and accomodating. My dog had a great time with Joe and two other dogs! He messaged me updates and photos during the 7 days away from our dog, which was very reassuring. Joe even took my dog on a 5 mile run! Will definately book with Joe again. This was the first time using Rover.com, and I highly recommend. I also highly recommend your dog stay with JOE!”

“Caitlin took care of my small dog at her house when I took an overnight trip away. she sent so many pictures and videos of my dog. having fun, cuddling with her in bed, playing and taking lots of walks! My dog was of course happy to see me when I got home, but I think she misses Caitlin already! I would very strongly recommend. Caitlin as a dog sitter who will love and care for your dog as if they are her own!”

“Ms. Charnetta and her family stole my fur baby and made him theirs. They gave him so much love and attention that after the first day with them, he made himself right at home. Seeing the pictures and videos made me feel at ease leaving him, knowing that he is wanted and appreciated, as if he is their own. I thank them so much and am so very touched.”

“Amanda and her wife are the absolute best. Our boy Jackson is a bit chaotic and we’ve struggled to find a pet sitter that’s a good fit. We are so lucky and grateful to have found Amanda, who fully embraces Jackson and cares for him like her own. Highly recommend!”

“I really appreciated Hayden's availability for an extended stay with my dog Cora. They were very easy to communicate and plan with. Very calm which showed in their own dog as well as my dogs calmness and good mood on pickup. I have a very shy chow chow and Haydenn handled her very well.”

“Laura was fantastic! Our German Shepherd received exceptional care from her. We appreciated the frequent updates that reassured us our pet was doing wonderfully. It's clear Laura genuinely cares. After 8 years of using Rover and trying many sitters, Laura stands out as the best. Thanks again, Laura, for taking great care of our girl!”

“Janel was a wonderful caregiver for our small shy rescue dog Amos. She tried hard to win his trust, and she succeeded by giving him the type of attention and care he needed. I highly recommend Janel and will certainly use her again the next time. Carol. August 2023”

“Lara was amazing! This was my first time booking a dog sitter in DC, so I was initially nervous. Lara immediately put my mind at ease with pics/updates shortly after I dropped off and sent them regularly throughout the remainder of my time away. My pups were happy, healthy, and tired from all the fun they had when I picked them up. I’d definitely rebook with Lara and would recommend her services to anyone else.”

“Kiara takes such good care of our lil monster. He always feels at home with her! She goes above and beyond to make pets feel at ease, while not stressing out! Very communicative and thorough. If there were more stars to give I’d give them!”

“Austin and Majid took great care of our dog, Maisie over the holiday. They were amazing at keeping us in the loop, and Maisie came home happy and healthy.”

“Morgan took very good care of my dog Ru. Ru can be anxious and nervous in a new home and sometimes won’t eat right away but Ru ate all her meals while she stayed with Morgan, which showed me how comfortable she was in her home. Morgan sent me lots of pictures and updates and even walked her all the way back to my house when my flight home landed late. Will definitely ask Morgan to pet sit Ru again!”

“Francise was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Ollie! She took him on lovely walks around town, helped him meet new people, and made sure he got plenty of exercise and attention. It was clear she genuinely cared about his happiness and well-being. I came home to a very content pup! I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

“I’m so excited to have found Stacey! She and Belle welcomed Ella with open arms and sent me really nice updates while I was away. It’s so nice to have somebody know I can trust”

“Laurie and Rich were so kind and caring for our little Frodo. From their photos, he was clearly comfortable in their home and yard. They kept us updated with his adjustment as it was his first time with them. When they expressed concern when he did not eat his dinner, we assured them that he does skip meals. We were lucky to find them available for our mini vacation. Thank you, Laurie and Richard”

“Nicole was amazing! She has been a great communicator, took pictures of my dog and some of those are my favorites of my doggo right now, and when she thought my dog might have an injury she let me know to call to see what I felt the next steps were. My princess looked so happy within Nicole’s care and she had fun with the other pups too. Thank you Nicole!”

Alexia took wonderful care of Cece! She was communicative throughout the stay and kept us updated, which gave us real peace of mind. The best sign of all was when we picked Cece up—she seemed happy, comfortable, and wasn’t eager to rush home, which tells us she felt safe and well cared for. We would absolutely book with Alexia again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

Nikki was amazing with our little Archie. She took care of him for almost a week while we were travelling, she sent lovely pics and made lots of fun plans with him. She was also super flexible as our flight got delayed and we had to ask her to take care of Archie for another night. We’ll definitely ask her to take care of our little one again!

Nirvana took excellent care of Bear while I was away. From our initial meet and greet, she asked thoughtful questions that showed she genuinely wanted to understand Bear’s routine and personality. Throughout the stay, she was communicative, sending frequent updates and plenty of pictures, which gave me real peace of mind. It was clear that Bear was well cared for and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Nirvana again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.

Camille and Nico were amazing with Gizmo! They provided wonderful care and lots of cuddles for him and they were very communicative throughout his stay. Lots of pictures received of a happy and relaxed dog, even during the many summer thunderstorms. We will definitely be asking them to take care of Gizmo again in the future!

I loved working with Mary!! Our cat Snowball stayed with her while we were on a trip and she had a great time. Mary is a true professional and prior to the booking we spoke on the phone and discussed Snowball’s needs and her daily routine. Mary has a very kind personality and is warm. I felt at ease during Snowball’s entire stay. Mary would send photos and let me know Snowball was doing. I would highly recommend Mary and wish to use her in the future if I am ever out of town and in need for cat boarding services.

Sarah is an incredible Rover! You can tell she genuinely loves dogs and does such a great job connecting with your pet as soon as she meets them. During my dog’s stay I got regular updates on his day and she was super flexible with his pick up time. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for someone to sit their dog!

Ala is one of the best dog sitters I have ever had! He made pickup and drop-off easy and provided photos and updates throughout my dog's stay. My dog was so happy at his place that when we went to leave he was pulling to go back. Highly recommend, you'll be lucky if he's available!

We couldn’t be happier with the care Bronx received over the weekend! Our sitter was absolutely wonderful — sweet, attentive, and so communicative. She sent regular updates and photos that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. She was always prompt to respond, and when our flight got delayed, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating without any issues. Bronx was in great hands and we’ll definitely be booking again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
