About: I grew up caring for my own dog Daisy! I was responsible for feeding her, walking her, and washing her. I also have experience pet-sitting both cats and dogs for 5+ consecutive days. As a recent graduate from George Washington University, I have lots of availability to take care of your pets! I’m very flexible and accept booking on short notice. I approach animal care with a deep care for their safety and health, along with a sense of playfulness for their physical activity and fun. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets!
About: I have had pets growing up and I’ve been dog walking since age 12! Love dogs and long walks. I have experience in sitting, walking, and grooming. I have a lot of free time during my day since I make my own schedule. I love going for early morning and afternoon walks. I usually pick up the dogs from the owners house and walk them for the desired hours. I leave everything as found and return pups well walked :)
About: Hello! I love spending time around dogs. I have a 9 year old golden retriever named who is the light of my life. I have helped take care of my friends dogs and senior dogs as well. When it comes to dog walking, I also love to make sure dogs are not only getting their exercise in, but experiencing new surroundings on their walk. I currently WFH so I am able to tailor my schedule to when your pets need my services! However, early mornings, evenings and lunch time are usually the most open times for me. While Im not offering services for room and board, I do live in a pet friendly apartment with pet friendly amenities, if there is a need to bring your pet home with me.

About: I grew up with cats and have grown to love dogs. I had my own cat for 13 years before he passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I love to care for my friends' pets! But with an open home, I'm ready to treat your best friend like my new best friend! I've taken care of cats and dogs extensively throughout my life including providing medication at regular intervals. I've also looked after snakes, turtles, and geckos, but I don't have any equipment to house them. But I love all animals whether fuzzy, furry, or scaly! I live in downtown DC in an apartment building close to several parks. I have a hybrid office job but live a short walk away from my office, so it's easy for me to swing back home whenever is necessary. I regularly catsit and dogsit for friends, but currently don't have any pets of my own. I respect animals autonomy, but always prefer to play, cuddle, or walk with the pets. They'll have full access to my apartment. They're welcome on furniture and if they prefer to hang out solo, that's okay, too. They'll still get the same love and attention, just from a few feet away.
About: I’m a pet lover and have had pets my whole life, and have always been active, caring, and thoughtful with them. We love to walk, hike, and chat with our dogs, and I’ve pet sat for family and friends for years! I’m available through the day for walks and playtime, as well as at responsible and thoughtful in my interactions. I work full time remotely, but am available to be flexible depending on your needs! I’m responsible and thoughtful, in caring for your home and pet. I also have many experiences with reactive animals that need more care and patience. Let me know your expectations!
“Abigail took such great care of my two floofs in the afternoons. They loved her! She was available last minute multiple times, took them on great walks and wore them out just enough for a great afternoon nap. I got comfortable enough with her that I didn’t even worry anymore and was able to focus on my work. Very kind and reliable sitter!”

About: Growing up with three dogs, I have learned not only that different dogs have their own lifestyle and personality, but also different feeding habits and behaviors. My clef pallet pup, Daisy, has taught me that patience can lead to happiness and learning with all kinds of dogs. As a recent high school graduate, I am available all summer to care for your furry friends. As I prepare for college, I am building my savings to have a successful first year! Growing up, I have had dogs of different sizes, from teacup size to 50+ pounds. Not only do I have experience with tricky behavioral dogs, but also pups with disabilities, such as clef pallets.
“Callen did a wonderful job taking care of our cat Willow! She was very responsive and communicative and sent plenty of photos, and Willow took right to her. We’ll definitely book with her again!”

“Niamh was a wonderful sitter for my cat! She was timely, communicative, and showed Pauline so much love and kindness. Came home to a very happy kitty and would not hesitate to have her sit for us again!”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy building trusting relationships with every pet I care for. I understand that each dog has a unique personality, routine, and set of needs, so I take the time to provide individualized care that helps them feel comfortable, safe, and happy. What sets me apart is my reliability, patience, and attention to detail. As a doctoral student in clinical psychology, I'm accustomed to being responsible, observant, and dependable, which are qualities that naturally carry over into the care I provide for pets. Whether your dog is energetic and loves long walks, needs a slower pace as a senior, or simply enjoys extra affection and playtime, I tailor my care to fit their needs. I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering oral medications if needed, maintaining feeding and walking schedules, and providing regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make every pet feel loved and cared for as if they were my own, while giving owners confidence that their furry family member is in compassionate and capable hands. I'm currently on break from my graduate school program for the summer, so I have wide open availability throughout the week. I am available both mornings and evenings as well as weekends! Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I understand that trusting someone with your furry family member is a big decision, and I strive to provide dependable, attentive care that gives you peace of mind. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine by following feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any other preferences you provide. I respect your home, keep the environment clean and secure, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, affection, and supervision while you're away. During walks, I prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses, avoiding hazardous areas, monitoring weather conditions, and paying close attention to your dog's comfort and behavior. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel connected and confident that your pet is happy and well cared for. My goal is to create a calm, positive experience where your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable, and where you can relax knowing they're in responsible and caring hands.
About: Growing up, my home was never quiet, and I wouldn't have had it any other way! I was raised surrounded by furry family members, starting with Koshko, my beloved cat, along with Puffy my sister´s Poodle and Madonna, the family´s Mutt. My grandparents had two gentle giants, Puma and Paleta, English Mastiffs who taught me early on how to care for and respect dogs of all sizes. Since moving to DC, I've become the unofficial "aunty" to my friends' dogs, and honestly, it's been one of the greatest joys of my life. I spent countless hours playing with Nacho, a grouchy and absolutely amazing Pomeranian who's now living his best life in India. Then there's Bailey, the chubbiest, sweetest Labradoodle you've ever met, who traded DC for sunny Mexico. And my real niece, Lulu, an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, recently embarked on her own international adventure with my sister and her family to England. It seems all my favorite pups are world travelers now, leaving me with an empty lap and a heart full of love to give! I deeply miss having these wonderful dogs in my daily life, the walks, the playtime, the snuggles, and even the goofy moments that make every day brighter. That's why I'm here on Rover: to share my experience, love, and dedicated care with your furry family members while you're away. Your dog won't just be looked after, they'll be loved, played with, and treated like the VIP they are! I primarily work from home, which means I can provide plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day! I do head to my office about three times a week, either in the morning or afternoon depending on meetings, but I'm very flexible. I'm also happy to work from your home, as long as there's a table where I can set up my portable screen and laptop, I'm all set! I prefer caring for dogs within a 30-minute travel radius of Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle to ensure I can balance work commitments while giving your pup my full attention. I strongly prefer caring for dogs in their own homes where they feel most comfortable and secure. There's nothing better than letting your furry friend stay in their familiar environment with all their favorite toys, beds, and routines intact, no stress of adapting to a new space, just pure comfort and love! Your pet's safety and comfort come first! I maintain their regular routines, keep doors and gates secured, and stay attentive during walks and playtime. Since I work from home most days, your pup gets plenty of company. When I'm at the office (about three times a week for a few hours), I coordinate around your dog's schedule to minimize alone time. I provide regular photo updates so you have peace of mind, and I treat every pet with the same love and care I gave to Nacho, Bailey, and Lulu. Your home will be respected, and your dog will be happy, safe, and well-loved!
“Maureen took great care of our cat, Leo, while we were out of town for a weekend. She played with him, fed him and took a lot of videos and photos so we always felt informed.”

“Nick was fantastic with my cat. My cat is very shy but by visit #2 he was letting Nick pet him. Nick is very prompt in responding. I will definitely ask Nick to take care of my cat again.”

“Matthew is great! We have two cats and Matthew watched them while we were away for a week. He was communicative and thoughtful and our cats seemed to enjoy his drop ins! Place looked great upon our return. Would definitely book again.”

“Maca was wonderful with our two cats! She took great care of them, including administering a medication on short notice. We got great pictures, helpful updates, and we could tell they had a good time with her.”

“Amanda was great and detailed oriented, which really worked for me. she makes you feel very comfortable, and it was great that she worked with me for a meet and greet beforehand!”

“Mila went the extra mile to care for my cat Ziggy while I was out of the country. She provided lots of details about Ziggy’s activities and took many photos of Ziggy’s antics during her visits. You can count on Mila to treat your pet the same as her own pets. I highly recommend Mila for your pet’s needs.”

About: I've spent years around dogs and cats and love spending time with them. More recently I've pet sat cats needing medication, plus dogs and cats spanning the full personality spectrum: high-energy goofballs and shy, need-to-warm-up-slowly types alike. I read each pet's cues quickly and adjust. I'm outgoing, upbeat, reliable, with good attention to detail. I also have my own cat, so I know what it's like to want a caregiver you can fully trust with your pet's routine. If you're looking for someone your pet will actually be excited to see, I'd love to hear from you — send a message anytime! I typically work 9-5 M-F with some flexibility - especially on Mondays and Fridays. I can always stop by before and/or after work, and depending on schedule/location, I can sometimes do a midday visit. I'm pretty flexible on the weekends. When I'm caring for a pet in your home, I stick closely to your instructions — feeding schedule, medication, walk routine, and any specific habits or quirks you flag. I do a walkthrough of the space early on to spot anything that could be a safety issue (open trash, auto feeders plugged in and functioning, etc.) and make sure doors and gates are always secured. For dogs, I keep an eye out during outdoor time for other animals, traffic, or anything that might spook them; for cats, I make sure litter, food, and water are consistent and that they have a safe, quiet space if they're the shy type. I'll also always check in with you with photos, updates, and answering any questions! Additionally, I'll always treat your home with respect. I am clean and organized and happy to help with tasks like bringing in the mail, watering plants, etc. I typically can't bring pets into my own home but if there's an emergency in your home (i.e., power outage or water leak) while you're away and the pet needs to come over while we figure out a solution, I'm happy to do my best to accommodate that.
“Jacqueline is a super cat sitter! She took detailed notes about our place and what our two felines like and dislike, and everything went great! Her visits were on-time, the reports were awesome and we could tell our two fur kids had a great time with her! Thank you - highly recommended!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Washington, D.C.
I had to make an emergency trip to see my mom when my dog was struggling with a knee issue that was going to require either surgery or physical therapy. Jesse cared for our dog Iris so well that when we came back, she had actually improved with her injury. This gave me the opportunity to choose physical therapy over having to go forward with the surgery.

Ryan was exceptionally communicative, kind, and warm! He left detailed notes, returned my key that I gave him, left my dog and home in great condition! Highly recommend!! This was my first time using Rover so I was a bit nervous but it went super smoothly!!

Samantha did a wonderful job checking in on my two dogs while I was away for the day! She even stayed with them a little longer just to ensure that they were calm and safe. Leo and Cookie were so comfortable around her and I know they enjoyed their time with her! I will definitely book with her in the future.

Claire immediately made me feel at ease leaving my anxious dog and temperamental cat! They responded so well to her, and her patience and kindness were palpable. She was so communicative and responsive to my pets’ needs, I hope I get the pleasure of booking her again!
