About: I grew up caring for my own dog Daisy! I was responsible for feeding her, walking her, and washing her. I also have experience pet-sitting both cats and dogs for 5+ consecutive days. As a recent graduate from George Washington University, I have lots of availability to take care of your pets! I’m very flexible and accept booking on short notice. I approach animal care with a deep care for their safety and health, along with a sense of playfulness for their physical activity and fun. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets!
About: My past work as a veterinary technician has provided me with years of experience caring for diverse breeds, specializing in coordinating complex feeding schedules and managing senior pets with health needs. I prioritize a safe and calm environment for every animal. I have been retired for two years, which makes me available all hours of the day. I am flexible with providing care on weekends as well as weekdays. If it is your wish that I do so, I am available to stay with your pet in your home if needed. Your pet will receive the same care I would provide to my own
“Marta was great looking after our cat, Bijou, while we were away for our honeymoon. She was consistent with her check in times and provided detailed updates on how our guy was doing. She even helped bring in some packages that had arrived and looked after our dying plants :)”

“Nick was great with our cats, Sarada and Eli! This was the first time my roommate and I had used a cat sitter, so we were a little nervous. But Nick followed all of our instructions very carefully and gave great feedback and photos for each visit! I felt much better after the first check-in. He’s also just a very nice and friendly person overall, and our cats seemed to get along well with him! I highly recommend him for cat sitting!”

“Brendan has been amazing! He’s been reliable, consistent, and incredibly responsive to any updates or concerns I’ve had, which made the whole process easy and stress free. He’s also been wonderful with my kitten—very attentive, caring. I felt confident knowing she was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Brendan to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Katherine went above and beyond caring for our dog when we took a last minute weekend trip. Not only that but she did extra tasks like bringing in our packages and even offered to sweep snow off of our stairs. She is reliable and communicated very well. Highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life and have an affinity for animals of all kinds. I particularly excel with patience with elderly dogs (my childhood dog is currently 17!) and exercising young animals. I work from home part of the week, so I’m very flexible with walking and visit times during those days. Additionally, I love exploring DC and can take your animal on a longer walk, if that is your preference! I can easily work with whatever yours needs are to care for your pets. I recognize that they’re members of our family, and I take you trusting me to care for them seriously!
“John is awesome - we highly recommend him! He has exceptional communication and is very responsive before/during his visits. He is great with our pup who can be challenging with new people - he’s incredibly patient and knowledgeable about caring for dogs, including our very large puppy!”

“Hazel is an amazingly attentive sitter! She sent updates, photos, and videos all throughout the drop in and was very responsive. She is very kind and generous with her time. I will 100% be rebooking her again when the need arises and I would absolutely recommend her as a sitter for your pet!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Washington, D.C.
Had a wonderful experience with Julia watching my dog. She was punctual, communicative, and sent lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She also went above and beyond by washing some washable pee pads before she left. She was respectful, considerate, and easy to work with from start to finish.

Bo is the best with my dog, Kermit! She has taken him out every day for the last couple of months while I’ve been working. He is a shy pup but warmed up to Bo so quickly and they are the best of friends now! Bo was super patient with Kermit and has been very responsive. I would highly recommend Bo to watch your animals!

We couldn't be happier with the care Garrett provided for Tycho while we were away! Garrett was attentive, conscientious, and always right on time. We had some tough weather during our trip—from extreme heat to monsoon-level rain—but Garrett went above and beyond to ensure Tycho got all the attention, exercise, and care he needed safely. His communication was fantastic throughout the entire stay. Every photo update showed Tycho with a huge, happy smile on his face! Since Garrett knows the neighborhood so well, he knew all the best local walking spots to keep things fun and engaging. The ultimate test for us was coming home: Tycho was relaxed, content, and completely happy, which was the absolute best indicator of how well he was treated. We’ll definitely be booking Garrett again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!
