“Victoria was an amazing sitter!! She sent wonderful pictures and descriptions of her drop-ins, which made me feel so at ease while I was on my trip. I could tell my cat Blackjack really adored her and loved the time he spent with Victoria. Would absolutely recommend her.”

“Monica took such amazing care of our cat and we are so thankful for all of her updates and photos! We could tell our cat was well loved in our absence!”

“Caden was great at taking care of Thelma & Louise for a last minute booking. He communicated well and showed pictures of them eating since one of my cats eats fast especially when anxious. He did a great job sending pictures too. Highly recommend Caden for your summer vacations!”

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, especially cats, so I naturally understand their needs and unique personalities. Even though I’ve never owned a dog of my own, I’ve cared for many dogs through friends and family — from puppies who need full attention to older dogs who need extra patience and care. I also have experience giving pets oral medication, so I’m comfortable following special routines. My goal is to always give each pet the same love, comfort, and attention I’d want for my own! I am currently a full-time student at Howard University so I have class everyday. With any free time I have on my hands not studying or in class, I’d love to help! Im happy to take your pets on walks, give them fresh food and water, and spend quality time with them so they feel cared for while you're away. Im gentle and attentive, making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. Building trust is very important to me, and treat one like my own! :)
“Erin was great with Pepper! She was prompt so Pepper could stay on schedule, asked clarifying when something was unclear, sent us updates! Overall, it’s clear Pepper loves Erin and Erin loves Pepper!”

“Pamela is has gone above and beyond for our 2 dogs. They love her and get so excited when she arrives, she has gained our trust and is a great addition to our pups care.”

“We’ve used ambers services twice so far. She is great with Rosie and we worry far less thanks to her consistency and care. But she’s also responsive, positive and accommodating! Thanks amber!”

“Caris was amazing with looking after my cat over a long weekend! Very communicative and highly detailed in reporting on drop in visits, would most definitely book again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Washington, D.C.
Becca was fantastic! She took great care of our two cats while we were away, including giving one of them medication twice a day. She sent us lots of photos and daily updates, and we came home to a tidy house and happy kitties. I would recommend Becca as a cat sitter!

Elise is a fantastic sitter who we’ve had several times for our active cat. Elise is great about playing with our cat, she provides great updates, and she is attentive and knowledgeable about cats. We especially appreciate that she alerted us to our cat’s lack of use of the litter box and handled our concerns kindly and helpfully and with flexibility (and all ended up being okay). Her care gave us peace of mind while we were away.

Hadley did such a great job watching my two kitties! Successfully gave my cat his meds and even picked up their wet food from the front desk when the delivery was delayed for after I left. She was thoughtful and punctual in her updates and pictures she sent me. I’ll definitely be asking her to cat sit again!

Shannon was an amazing cat sitter. Not only was she able to administer daily complex meds (an inhaler for my cat's asthma) but also gave me a heads up when my cat went outside of the litter box. Both of those together gave me confidence that she knew what she was doing to support my cat and to look out for early warning signs of issues (which my vet recommended continuing to monitor). Outside of those critical areas, she was still able to play with my cat and send super cute pictures of her so I knew she was doing well during my time away. I would definitely request Shannon's assistance in the future and highly recommend her (5/5 stars!). Thanks Shannon!

We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter. Our seven-year-old cat is very shy and easily scared around new people, and he was initially hissing and keeping his distance. But Badr was incredibly patient, calm, and respectful of his boundaries. He took the time to let our cat get comfortable at his own pace, and before long, he became one of the very few people our cat has genuinely bonded with beyond us. Badr was always punctual, reliable, and excellent at communicating, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that he truly cared about our cat’s well-being—not just completing the basic tasks. We are so grateful to have found him and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a thoughtful, dependable, and truly wonderful cat sitter.
Deniz is kind and communicative. I appreciate the extra mile she went to in caring for my sweet geriatric kitty! Not only do I think this, but Catness the cat did too; she came out to say hi to Deniz and get pets, which she only does when she trusts someone. 5 stars, highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
