About: I've had a dog for 5 years. I always walk, watch, and care for my friends' dogs. I am their go-to person when it comes to what's good for their dogs. I'm a stay-at-home wife. So I have plenty of time to walk and take dogs on their daily exercise. I can fit my schedule around the dog's owner schedule. I live in Oldtown Alexandria. It’s a very walkable neighborhood with plenty of dog parks. It’s a very dog friendly area and dogs love it here.

About: Experienced dogwalker bringing safety-first focus to every walk. Expert in energetic exercise, positive reinforcement and specialized care, ensuring your pup is safe, thoroughly exercised and expertly handled. I currently work as a seasonal lifeguard, which leaves my mornings completely open. I am fully available for walks and check-ins from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM daily, right before I head out to hit the pool for my shift at 12:00 PM. My Old Town Alexandria neighborhood features pedestrian-friendly brick sidewalks, designated dog parks, and strict leash habits, creating a secure, welcoming environment for any pup!
“Elena took extra care of my cat while I was away on a business trip. She was very kind and thoughtful and went out of her way to go and check on my cat when my flight was cancelled on my way back home. I will definitely rebook Elena in the future!”

About: As a pet-owner and rover-user myself, I know how important it is to have someone you can trust take care of your pets when you aren't available. I am passionate about giving dogs happy highlights to each and every day, and I love to play with them and take them on long walks to sniff and enjoy the outdoors. As a work-from-home employee, I am often free during work hours to pay your pet a visit or take them on a nice walk to help break up the day while you are away! I can be free on evenings and weekends as well, and would be happy to spend time playing with your pet and giving them happy moments each and every day while they wait for you to return. My dog loves to play indoors, which means I am extra vigilant that the house is safe for him should he get zoomies and run around the furniture. I would be careful to provide that safe environment for your dog as well, in your home or mine.
“Adriana was great with our drop-in services. She provided updates and photos for every walk. She was very thorough with her care level and we will definitely use her services again.”

“Jessica has been so helpful checking in on our new puppy every day! She’s friendly, reliable, and communicative, and we always love getting her updates and adorable photos. It gives us peace of mind knowing our puppy is in such good hands!!”

“Robin took such care of Rasha even through the snow storm of 2026! I felt so bad when Ro in got stuck in the snow for two hours leaving my house busy she still came back the next day to care for my Rasha! I can definitely recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“Erin was fantastic! She was communicative and took great care of our cats while we were away. We have one very high energy cat and one very shy cat and she was great with both - she was even able to pet the shy cat a few times! She went out of her way to make the process easy, met the cats in advance to learn their routine, followed instructions exactly, and sent tons of pictures while we were away. We will definitely reach out to Erin when we need pet sitting and recommend her highly!”

“Nina was great and took good care of my Ivy girl! She sent videos and photos, and followed all of my instructions. Will use be using her again in the future.”

About: I have many years of experience caring for friends’ and families’ pets (both dogs and cats). Unfortunately, I am unable to provide boarding, I can drop in on your pets whenever you need! I work as a nanny for two different families, so I’m typically out of the house very early. Though, I do have a break in between (usually 10:00-2:00) where I return home, so your pet won’t be lonely for the entire day. Though I am not able to board your pets, I treat them as if they were my own - lots of attention, adherence to particular feeding schedules, and play time! Your pets are your family, and my goal is to keep them happy and healthy while you’re away!

Jeana did a fantastic job with our 2 pups! She arrived for drop-ins on time, played with them and took awesome photos of them! We’re so grateful we could rely on her while out of town and appreciated the updates! Thank you Jeana- will definitely book with you in the future!

My boyfriend and I were stuck and needed a sitter super last minute on the 4th of July of all holidays. Laura responded super quickly and was able to do a drop in visit for us. She really was a life saver! Would recommend her to anyone needing their dogs sat.

First time using rover, and found Johnny. He was wonderful, and my 5 month old German shepherd x malinoi absolutely adored him, Johnny was a good listener and has such good patience. I would definitely recommend him especially for those with high energy puppies or breeds. I know my puppy had such a good time with him with all the photos i received.

Tommy did a great job taking care of our older dog while we were away on a short vacation. He completed all drop in visits and walks on time and sent regular updates and photos. It was a relief to know our little guy was in good hands while we were away. Thanks again Tommy!!

Sophia was great to work with! She was willing to accommodate my request with short notice and was flexible when I needed to modify plans. She was very communicative and sent photo updates. She gave great attention and care to my two pets. They were immediately comfortable with her. I will definitely book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
