“Marlene took wonderful care of our dog while we were gone for 5 days. We appreciated all the pictures and could tell Zoe was having a great time! We would definitely book with Marlene again and recommend to others!”

“I left my dog Archie with Francise for a couple days and she was great with him! He’s an anxious one and when I went to get him he seemed so happy and comfortable. Francise was great with accommodating me and had great communication while I was away.”

“Katie did a great job watching Chloe at her place while I was away on vacation! She sent multiple pictures everyday which was so nice for my peace of mind and I could relax knowing Chloe was having a blast. I would definitely recommend Katie for your dog sitting needs!”

“My dog loved his stay and was well taken care of. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after my 12 year old pug. Without a doubt I would trust Michelle to look after Scooter again!”
“Jessica was a great pet sitter! Our dog Charlie was very well taken care of and he absolutely loved chasing balls at the park. We would definitely use Jessica again! Thank you!”

“Deborah and Justin took great care of Louis while I was on vacation for Labor Day weekend! I felt very comfortable and knew Louis was being well taken care of and getting lots of attention! Lucky for me, they also live close by so I will definitely be asking them to watch Louis again when I go away! Thank you, Deborah and Justin! 💕”

“Allie is wonderful! She has watched my pup twice and each time I’ve felt confident he is being very well taken care of. She was also incredibly understanding after weather delayed my flight home and I had to pick him up much later than expected. Would highly recommend!”

“Karen was such a great dog sitter! She watched my 2 year old labradoodle for the weekend, and I could tell my dog was very comfortable with her. Karen also sent great pictures. I would highly recommend Karen to other dog owners in the area 😊”

“Catherine & Nikhit were wonderful with our dog. We did a meet and greet beforehand and they sent plenty of updates. They were attentive and had a great backyard for Benny to play in.”

“Jodee and AJ are very experienced and took great care of my pup even providing pictures and updates. Being her first time with a rover I was slightly apprehensive but it couldn’t have gone smoother. The family was very attentive!”

About: I am a true Capitol Hill dog lover and I have always had a strong passion for animals, mostly for dogs. I have been caring for dogs since I was child, taking care of my mother’s beloved shitzu. Taking care of her helped me acquire basic canine behavior and taught me the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Most recently I raised my own best friend, Gelato an English Bulldog. I gained my breeder experience with Gelato and cared for her and her 6 puppies, until they were rehomed at 8 months. I enjoy taking long walks, which I consider the ultimate stress reliever and best way to exercise. I have no problem getting my hands dirty. I have 20 years of experience in the customer service field and enjoy striving to provide the best experience to my clients. In my personal time I am spending time with my 2 little girls teaching them how to play sports, and of course how to be loving pet owners. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page! I’m currently working part time and will be available to walk most pets during early mornings hours during the week and mid day and evenings during the weekend. I definitely would like to know your pets temperament, and what might scare them. I know they will feel most comfortable at home but if they are with me, I’d like to keep a calm, pet friendly setting for them to be comfortable in.
“Nina was amazing!!! We had flight delays, and last minute she was able to keep Winston another night for us. Super grateful for her, and her clear love for puppies!”

“Nani is a fantastic sitter. She is kind and treats your pup like her own. She is patient and flexible. My dog really enjoys his stays with her. I highly recommend her. I love the updates and photo’s too.”

“Aaron & Tia took great care of my Frenchie Bella. She had an initial knee injury that required crate rest and very limited activity and their willingness to accommodate our needs at the last minute for an extended (18 day) stay was beyond amazing. After the meet and greet with Aaron and their amazing soon I felt even more at ease. Prior to her stay, Bella was stung in the eye and was required eye drops in addition to the knee injury. Aaron wasn't phased by the additional special needs. While on travel in Asia, I received almost daily pics and a video. I could tell she was having a great time. She also needed to lose a few pounds to help with her knee injury and Aaron and Tia returned Bella in tip top shape and a few pounds lighter. She is off of her pain meds for her knee and her eye is healed. I can't thank them enough. When I met with them they only had a few reviews and I wasn't deterred. This is proof that the # of reviews does not determine the type of love and care your pup receives. I will be using their services again and again very soon.”

“Patience is outstanding! Warm, compassionate, and caring, with consistent communication and videos throughout our dog’s time with her. She went above and beyond with our extreme flight delays, and she is simply a wonderful human being and fantastic dog sitter. Will absolutely book her again!!!! What a life saver and wonderful person all around.”

“Anna took amazing care of our senior pup! We are so thankful to find someone who genuinely cares for pets and she treated ours as if she were her own. Anna also was a great communicator and we absolutely trust her to take care of our pup again!”

“My dog Shira had yet another wonderful stay with Nicole when my husband and I went abroad for a wedding. Not only Nicole took care of Shira in her home, she sent us many pictures of her stay. Nicole also visited our cat Morris every day and because our cat was feeling especially lonely, Nicole showed him extra loving and care with daily brushing and cat teaser play. Shira and Morris are looking forward to spending more time with Nicole right before Christmas, Nicole is a wonderful petsitter and communicator.”

We were very pleased with the care that Tim provided for our beloved senior dog. Curtis, our Jack Russell, was very happy with Tim and his pet dog. Tim administered several medications to Curtis and he advised us on a daily basis of our dog’s condition. He even sent photos. We were very satisfied with the pet sitter service and the accommodations, and we plan to use him again.

Jelik did an excellent job taking care of my dog, Rio! He kept me updated throughout the stay, and Rio looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It gave me great peace of mind knowing Rio was in such good hands. I truly appreciate the care and attention Jelik provided, and I would definitely book with him again. Highly recommend!

India was great during my baby girls stay. India kept sending updates along with pics and videos. My baby girl was very happy during her stay and I already have another booking for September with India. She also has a wonderful paw baby named Prince. Upon arriving I met her son/sons very well mannered and they were very welcoming as well. India took really GREAT CARE of my baby and even though I missed her like crazy India made it a lot easier with the great communication and pictures. Thank you India for giving my baby girl such great LOVE and CARE.

Cristian is honestly the best! Communication was great, and you could just tell he adored my dog like he was his own precious baby boy. Also, he was very flexible with scheduling — before the booking, after, even when my travel plans kept shifting around, he just rolled with it every time. Truly would recommend him to literally anyone, and I would definitely book with him again myself!

Fred & crew watched my two pups on very short notice for 6 nights while my husband and I traveled out of the country. I found his rate(s) fair for the care they received. Where we traveled had limited service, including WiFi which made it difficult to check in on the girls. Nonetheless, the days passed on and they were returned to us safely with all of our belongings. At drop off, they were attentive and thorough in the instructions for care. My only concern is that I provided freshpet as their meal (which needs to be refrigerated). The bag I received back was nearly full, warm and smelled rancid. Literally not possible if only sitting out for a couple hours- or even 8 hours. Future bookers: If your parenting style is unattached (not obsessive), then this will be a good sitter for you. Also, if you get a chance - check out the space that they will be keeping your pets. I didn’t care to because I genuinely didn’t have the time or resources to change my mind. If I had to, I would book again and I’d leave solid food and room temp soft food. 😬

Melonie always takes great care of our pup. Karma is an active husky and she is always excited when she has a visit to her favorite Rover sitter. We have done boarding several times and Melonie is always flexible. Communicative and very pleasant to interact with. We know our girl is in great hands. We’ll be coming back again soon.
Cindy was great. She is kind and provided great communication during our dog taz’s stay. She sent daily pictures and updates. When picking up Taz he seemed like he was comfortable and did not want to leave. I would highly recommend Cindy. I plan to use her again in the future.

Brieana and her family were absolutely amazing! We had a last minute cancellation with the person who typically watches Vito and she responded immediately and set up a meet greet. We could sense the comfort Vito felt with the family the second he walked in so we already had an overwhelming feeling of calm going into our weekend. When picking him up he was so happy but also super relaxed and it was clear he had a great stay with them. I couldn’t suggest Brieana enough. She will be at the top of our list for Vito I’m pretty sure he’s found a new best friend 😊.
Max is our go-to sitter. He takes such good care of our dog and always sends photo updates throughout the stay. We feel great about the care our pup always gets when we send her to stay with Max and highly recommend his care to anyone on the fence about who to go to with their own pet needs.

Elizabeth was great to work with, sent me daily pictures and updates of Zoe and was flexible when I needed to change the pick up time. She and Kim clearly cared for Zoe and asked for updates on how she was doing after I had picked her up. I will definitely book future stays for Zoe with them!

Joy has been our go to for over a year now. We love that she only takes one family at a time so the experience is more personable. She has a fenced in yard that my dogs love. She is also very prompt at responding at requests and general messages. Thank you Joy! -Deuce and Storm

We travel from North Carolina pretty often… and when we decide to go north Corola has been our go to! Her and her husband are really nice and pleasant people and our frenchie seems to love them! Corola keeps us updated on how he’s doing and sends us pictures often! That and the fact that they live on base gives us an extra sense of security knowing that our dog is safe and ok! We highly recommend Corola to anyone seeking dog care!

Serena is fantastic and a great person. When a problem came up between my dog and an off leash dog, she immediately texted/called/video called and kept me updated the whole time. While my dog was happy to see me, she was mad she had to leave Serena because she got all the attention and walks she demands. Highly recommend Serena and any dog will have the time of their life with her

Melissa was incredible with our Bear Bear. He struggles with separation anxiety, but her warm and gentle demeanor put him completely at ease. She kept us in the loop with tons of photos — Bear playing, enjoying treats, running around the backyard, and snuggling up. It didn't take long for him to go from anxious to absolutely in Love. We'll definitely be booking Melissa again. She's the best!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
