“This was my first time boarding and being away from my pup for an extended period, so I was a bit nervous at first. Nicole helped put my mind at ease, and I came back to a happy, well cared for pup. Very grateful!”

“Billy loved his stay at Brian's. He got to play with tons of toys and received a lot of attention. Brian also sent me daily updates with photos of Billy, and was also very conscientious about Billy's special food and medication needs. I will definitely be bringing Billy back to Brian's next time I go out of town.”
“Our dog stayed with Donna for nine days and she was fantastic! He warmed to her quickly and she was very loving with him. She also sent daily updates with photos, which we really appreciated as we were abroad and missed our dog very much. We would definitely use Donna again!”

“My pup was so spoiled in love and clearly very happy and comfortable! Best Rover stay she’s had yet! 🥰 I highly recommend booking with Melonie. She provided tons of photos, daily updates and was very thorough in our initial meet and greet. Thank you for caring for Gianna, Melonie!!”

“Rilo had a blast with Nina and her pup! I got lots of photo updates and Rilo came home happy and tuckered out from so much play time. Thank you for taking such good care of my girl!”

“Jennifer and Louis were very friendly and accommodating for me and my pup first overnight stay I was very nervous in the beginning due to it being my dog first overnight stay. I a new to the app and was looking for a playful friendly dog that my dog can stay and play with occasionally. We have found one thank you Jennifer and Louis for your hospitality pictures and videos everything went great!”

“Patience was absolutely AMAZING!! She cared for my pup like she was family. Peaches acted like she didn’t want to come home. Lol! Patience communicates daily with videos and messages to provide reassurance that your fur baby is great hands. I would highly recommend her and look forward to booking with Patience again in the coming weeks. I cannot thank her enough for her support and the TLC she gave to Peaches.”

“Another amazing experience with Beth. Our pup ran straight to her when he saw her (getting dropped off for a sleepover with Bastien). Thank you for taking such a good care of Figaro!”

“Del had a great stay with Shane while we were away on vacation. He was communicative with updates and Del happily played with other pups all week. She came home happy. Will definitely book with Shane again. Thanks!”

“Our dog had such an amazing time at Nicole’s! He can be a little timid and has trouble eating in new environments, but Nicole made him feel right at home and he did great! We like how she only takes in one dog at a time. He got along great with her dog but still got lots of 1:1 attention.”

About: Hi! I'm Krista and I genuinely love spending time with dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I recently said goodbye to my sweet and quirky 12‑year‑old German Shepherd. Caring for her throughout the years has given me experience with all the different stages from energetic pups to the oldies with mobility challenges and slower routines. My shepherd struggled with anxiety around other dogs, so I’m very familiar with reading body language, creating safe distance, and keeping walks calm and controlled. Throughout the years, I have cared for and spent ample time with doggos belonging to friends and family members and look forward to the opportunity to give others peace of mind when they need to leave their loved ones. Lots of walks, pets, play time and of course, photos/videos for owners! I work from home so there are lots of opportunities to go outside. There are a few parks nearby and lots of grassy areas. I also have dog beds, dishes and plenty of toys! Please note, my building unfortunately has restrictions on the following dog breeds: Akita, Alaskan Malamutes, Chow Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Malamute, Pit Bull Breeds, Presa Canarios, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Terrier and Wolf Dogs. I live in a condo building but there's lots of areas outside to venture around! I do own a crate if needed/preferred. I will bring your dog on many walks and ensure they have lots of play time (for the youngins) and rest (for the oldies) :)
“McKinley was the best sitter we could’ve had! She was able to accommodate to a last minute request. She sent frequent updates and my pup felt so comfortable in her house with her other pets. 10/10 best sitter in the area!”

About: I love all pets. I have been pet sitting since I was a teen. My clients trust me and they know their beloved pets will be well taken care of with me. I currently work full time. I have a very flexible job that allows me to have enough time to care for your pet when needed. I have a large yard where your pet can play and explore. The house is large enough for my and your friends. My pets are very friendly and love having visitors.
“Serena is great! We needed a last minute affordable dog sitter while we went on a family Vacation and Serena came thru! We would recommend her for sure. She is friendly and has great communication. She sent pictures of our dog Taz throughout his stay. We will use Serena’s services again.”

“Our dog Erwin had a great time staying with Carolin and her dog Nutmeg. Carolin is very caring and conscientious and posted lots of photos and videos so we could see how Erwin was doing.”

Joe was great and we would be happy to leave Dakota in his care again. He was super flexible and provided daily updates which were really appreciated. Dakota made some dog friends and seemed to enjoy his lengthy visit. Joe lives near a wooded area so it was nice for Dakota to be a little bit out of the chaos of the city.

Audrey has watched T’Challa twice now over this past month since I’ve traveled for work. She’s been super responsive when I inquire about availability and also when I’m checking in. I also love that there’s a dogpark on her rooftop—how fancy is that to see them hanging out up there?! She takes such good care of my little guy and I’m so grateful for her and her super cute pup! I’d recommend Audrey — 10/10!

Thank you India for taking amazing care of our cat! We all felt your deep love and care for all furry family members as you fed and watch out for her. We will request your expertise again and again! If anyone is looking for a true animal advocate who will take care of your furry family, India is great!
Prompt, personable and informative. Jotrice demonstrates great care and experience working with large dogs. She sent picture and videos of the fur babies in her care and my Kali loved being apart of the pack. She thoughtfully ask about my old girl’s pressure spots to make sure she was comfortable. At pick-up Kali couldn’t decided if she wanted to stay or go home! That’s a great sign! I would recommend and would definitely use again should the need arise.

Cindy was great. She is kind and provided great communication during our dog taz’s stay. She sent daily pictures and updates. When picking up Taz he seemed like he was comfortable and did not want to leave. I would highly recommend Cindy. I plan to use her again in the future.

Brieana and her family were absolutely amazing! We had a last minute cancellation with the person who typically watches Vito and she responded immediately and set up a meet greet. We could sense the comfort Vito felt with the family the second he walked in so we already had an overwhelming feeling of calm going into our weekend. When picking him up he was so happy but also super relaxed and it was clear he had a great stay with them. I couldn’t suggest Brieana enough. She will be at the top of our list for Vito I’m pretty sure he’s found a new best friend 😊.
Max is our go-to sitter. He takes such good care of our dog and always sends photo updates throughout the stay. We feel great about the care our pup always gets when we send her to stay with Max and highly recommend his care to anyone on the fence about who to go to with their own pet needs.

Elizabeth was great to work with, sent me daily pictures and updates of Zoe and was flexible when I needed to change the pick up time. She and Kim clearly cared for Zoe and asked for updates on how she was doing after I had picked her up. I will definitely book future stays for Zoe with them!

Joy has been our go to for over a year now. We love that she only takes one family at a time so the experience is more personable. She has a fenced in yard that my dogs love. She is also very prompt at responding at requests and general messages. Thank you Joy! -Deuce and Storm

Serena is fantastic and a great person. When a problem came up between my dog and an off leash dog, she immediately texted/called/video called and kept me updated the whole time. While my dog was happy to see me, she was mad she had to leave Serena because she got all the attention and walks she demands. Highly recommend Serena and any dog will have the time of their life with her

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
