About: I have been taking care off dogs since age five, when my family first got my childhood dog. Since then I have cared for two other dogs, providing basic training. Professionally, I have been watching dogs for 4 years, walking, feeding, and providing a fun experience to many dogs. I love dogs and would be so happy to care for yours! I currently work part time, mostly on the weekends. This means I would have around the clock time to assist during the week. For the weekends, I could board dogs if they are able to be apart for up to six hours, which typically would not happen. I have a large one bedroom apartment which will allow ample space to play with the dog inside. Regarding being outside, I love going on walks and can take them to the dog park, as well as using the yard outside my apartment.

Mikela was very personable and very communicative when we did our virtual meet and greet. Our kitty is very old and needed some extra care and she was very understanding and helpful about it. We were away with no service except for emergencies/ rare service spots so when we were able to check in she was very fast with responding and giving us updates. We super appreciated her and her attention to detail and how well our little old lady was cared for. We would absolutely book her again. Thank you Mikela!

About: I have helped my mom care for our house animals (dogs, cats, etc.), but I stepped in and took responsibility when we adopted our boy Kato. He is a six 1/2-year-old Staffordshire Pittie with all the skin problems bully breeds come with. I have aided in feeding, walking, and giving him his medicine at appropriate times. I am employed part-time, so I have plenty of time to walk and play with your furry babies. I also have my means of transportation, so getting to them will be no problem. I do not intend to use my home to watch your dogs because my pitty was not properly socialized as a puppy; however, I can adapt to any of your pet's routines or needs in your home.

About: My partner and I work together to provide reliable and attentive house sitting and pet care throughout the DMV area. I currently work part-time as a concierge, which has strengthened my professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for building security and residents’ privacy. My partner is studying online to become an electrician, which gives him a flexible schedule and a strong sense of responsibility and problem-solving. We also have a cat of our own, so we understand the importance of routine, litter care, enrichment, and recognizing subtle changes in behavior. Caring for animals in their home requires patience and attentiveness, and we take that seriously. Together, we have experience caring for dogs and cats of various sizes, ages, and temperaments. Working as a team allows us to provide consistent supervision, maintain routines, and ensure pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. We are comfortable with: • Small to large dogs • Senior pets • Multiple-pet households • Following detailed feeding and care schedules We prioritize clear communication, cleanliness, and maintaining a calm, secure environment at all times. Our goal is to provide dependable care so you can travel with peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into our routine. I work some night concierge shifts, which gives me flexibility during the day to maintain feeding schedules, walks, and check-ins. Spending time outdoors with pets is a great balance after overnight work, and I enjoy being active with them. My partner studies in the evenings, so we are both structured and routine-oriented. Having pets in our care fits well with our schedule, as we prioritize consistency, fresh air, and daily activity. Because of our schedule flexibility, we are able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening care while ensuring pets receive attentive and reliable supervision. About: I have been an animal lover my whole life and have been deeply invested in the care of all dogs I’ve owned. Ever since I got my first dog at just 3 years old I knew what it meant to truly care and connect with another animal. While I don’t currently care for dogs professionally I would love to open a rescue shelter one day. Most of my experience is with medium to large dogs and I currently care for my senior Akita mix named Prince. Our pets are our children and I ensure to care for yours as I would, and do, my own. Long or short walks, playing at the park or just chilling at home I’m up for it all and your pet will be in safe hands. I work remotely allowing for me to have a flexible schedule for dog walking, pet sitting, and check ins. I don’t currently have accommodations for more than one dog at my home but am easily able to travel to meet your needs. I come Prepared with poop bags, organic treats, and small toys. I work remotely, making my schedule more flexible during the weekdays for sit-ins, pet sitting, and dog walking. I am also available most weekends for any needed care. Since I am currently caring for my senior dog Prince, the area I live in is equipped for the needs of all dogs. There are two large grassy areas to explore as well as a park just 2 miles away. I carry poop bags with me so I can easily clean up after your pet and keep our community clean. Additionally I am attentive and watchful over all pets in my care.

About: I love all the dogs. I enjoy playing with them and taking walks. I love long hiking in the parks where me and dogs can be closer to nature. I have always met only great dogs. They all have different personalities and this is something that requires patience and understanding to allow the dog connect with me. However, as big or small the dog can be, it has no difference for me. In my life I had only one time dog biting me and it was when I was a child and was running through the neighbor's property and the dog did his duty and started running after me. He scratched my left leg with his teeth, but it was more of a gentle warning, than a bite. Dogs listen to me very well. Sometimes I get surprised myself how well they respond to me. This is something I would enjoy doing with all my heart Dogs are amazing creatures! Thank you, Oksana

About: I've cared for animals of varying breeds, shapes, and sizes since I was a young girl. As an aspiring veterinarian, I've made staying informed and attentive to animal's needs my top priority. In my time taking care of other's pets, I've conduced overnight stays, routine check-ins, walking & enrichment activities, mild grooming, as well as medication administration. I keep detailed logs of the eating, drinking, and energy levels of the pets I watch and communicate regularly with the owners. This way, I can ensure that your loved ones are receiving the attention they need to thrive in your time apart. I have a pure, genuine love for animals, and I look forward to meeting your pet! I currently work as a Veterinary Nurse at a clinic with 3 days off a week. With proper notice, I am comfortable rearranging my schedule to meet the needs of your pet. I have open availability on Wednesdays and weekends as well. I make sure to thoroughly read and notate any instructions left by the owners. I understand that allowing someone into your home is a huge act of trust, and I make it a point to remain considerate, respectful, and tidy as I operate around the house. I understand that being around new company can be stressful for some animals, so I make sure to slowly build a bond that allows your pet to trust me.

Mickela was great with my cats, and we have a lot of cats. She was able to make each of my cats feel safe and cared for while I was gone on a very long work trip. Normally I come home to a house with some kitty messes due to stress and this time I came home to a clean and happy house where I could just hop right back into our normal routine. I have already booked Mickela for my next work trip and she will 100% be my regular sitter. I highly recommend!. She was able to give my cats their medicine, handle a pretty hectic feeding time, and keep everyone happy and stress free. If you want someone to love your cat like their own Mickela is your person!

Cassandra is an absolutely fantastic sitter. She is proactive, detail oriented, and reliable. We were gone for a week and have two very spoiled cats. I left a long list of things I wanted her to do for us, including giving one of our cats his inhaler every day, and mixing in supplements into food, along with lots of preferences to keep their routine as normal as possible. Cassandra not only followed everything we requested, but went above and beyond. She gave us detailed reports about how the cats were doing and photos every day for us. We do not leave our cats alone often and I was so happy to have someone that I knew was exceedingly capable of caring for them. We had a few issues with another sitter that was also booked for another time of day while we were away on the same trip, and I think I would've lost my mind if Cassandra wasn't around. She gave me peace of mind that she was handling any potential problems, even if she wasn't the one that caused them. Thank you again for all of your efforts and keeping Spooky and Jinx happy and healthy while we were away!

They were absolutely amazing. I just moved to the area from Texas and had to travel to Colorado for my niece’s birthday, but couldn’t bring my dog. My usual pet sitter is back in Texas, so I was unexpectedly without pet care. When the dates of my trip changed, they were generous and flexible enough to watch Scooby a little longer. Scooby normally takes a while to warm up to new people and can be particularly hesitant around men, but he bonded with them incredibly quickly. They truly exceeded my expectations. I will absolutely book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and wonderful with pets.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Hillcrest Heights stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hillcrest Heights. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
