“Michelle was so wonderful watching our two pups. She kept us well informed for the five-day stay, and took SUCH great care of the two dogs. They came home happy and healthy and warn out from a great week of playing and snuggling. We definitely recommend Michelle and will be booking again with her soon.”

“Melanie, Greg, and their family were very kind, patient, and communicative about Phoebe during her first overnight stay away from home. We would definitely book them again!”

About: I’ve had pets for most of my life. I’ve had two cats and three dogs. My three dogs all weigh over 120 pounds and I am able and used to taking care of big dogs. Well experienced in taking care of multiple animals in a home. I’m well also used to talking care of cats needs, including their needs for space, litter, and playtime. I also enjoy spending time with any animal. I am flexible and free to help whenever needed. When I return to college I’ll balance helping out with your fluffy friends and my academics I will customise my service based on client needs. At home I feed my cat in the morning and early evening, cleaning litter daily and frequent water changes. For my dogs who are maremmas they require specific dietary needs so I cook for them as well as feed them regular kibble. One of my dogs had also specific medical needs.
“Exceeded my expectations! This dynamic duo is truly a dream team. They took very good care of my Tyson since the meet and greet! They are very communicative and will send you as little or as many updates as you can take. This was my first time away from my baby and it’s warming to find out I was the one with separation anxiety while he had a friend and a safe space to be a dog! Will DEFINITELY be using there awesome services again!”

“Brian was amazing to our Kona, she got daily walks throughout the day and we loved the photos and updates we would receive from Brian. Highly recommend and I would book with him again.”

“We were fortunate to find Alyssa through Rover for our miniature poodle, Russell, who has unique needs. From the moment I read through Alyssa's profile and the reviews, my instincts told me she was the right choice. The consistent praise she's received is all true and well-deserved. Initially, I couldn't help but wonder if she and Rich were too good to be true, but they surpassed all expectations. Before Russell's stay, I sent Alyssa a video demonstrating his specific nighttime routine, showing how he goes into his crate to sleep. I made it clear that I understood if adjustments were necessary during his stay elsewhere. To my surprise, everything went smoothly and seamlessly when we returned from our week-long trip and brought Russell home. This was a first for us. In the past, whenever we went on vacation, it would take a few nights to readjust Russell to his routine at home. To say we were impressed and happy with Alyssa and Rich's dog boarding service would be an understatement. They exceeded our expectations in every way. Alyssa kept me updated with daily messages and photos, ensuring I was informed and at ease throughout our family's time away. When we picked up Russell, Alyssa even described a specific behavior he exhibited while in her care—a unique way he drinks water in his crate, just like he does at home. It was evident that Alyssa and Rich provided exceptional care, surpassing anything we had experienced before. They truly go above and beyond. In all honesty, Alyssa and Rich are like unicorns disguised as humans. It would be incredibly difficult to find caregivers as extraordinary as them. We genuinely hope they will be available whenever we need a dog sitter in the future.”
“Serena was so easy to book and she responded to all texts very promptly. She and Jake took very good care of our Ellie. We would definitely ask them to puppy-sit again!”

“We’re always a bit anxious leaving our pups behind when we travel, but there was no need this time! Lucky and Sadie were treated wonderfully, and we really loved the updates we were given. We never had to worry if they were in good hands or not. We definitely would reach out again if we need help!”

“Kathleen was awesome!! She took great care of our pup, Hebert. She’s communicative, flexible, warm, and lovely to with! Our pup immediately bonded with her! 10/10 would recommend Kathleen!”

“Jessie and Erick took great care of our dog Otto while we were out of town for a week. They sent lots of pictures and videos and were so sweet about making Otto feel comfortable when he was dealing with some anxiety about being in a new place.”

About: Hi! I'm Kiley, and dogs have always been a huge part of my life. Along the way, I've also had the opportunity to care for them professionally. For nearly three years, I was the General Manager of a large Alexandria-based dog walking and pet sitting company, overseeing a team of more than 40 caregivers, working with hundreds of clients, and helping ensure that every pet received safe, reliable, and loving care. While most of my professional experience has been with dogs, I also cared for lots of cats and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and routine. There's no substitute for patience, consistency, and paying attention to the little things. I've been lucky enough to be a dog mom for more than 20 years. From energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs, I've experienced every stage of life with them and understand how much they mean to their families. While I don't currently have a dog of my own, I genuinely miss having one in my daily life—which is one of the reasons I'm so excited to be on Rover. It gives me the chance to spend time with wonderful dogs while giving their families peace of mind that they're in caring, experienced hands. Having been both a professional caregiver and a devoted dog mom, I understand the trust it takes to leave your best friend with someone else. That's why I make communication, reliability, and regular updates a priority. I'm dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. I'll follow your pet's routine closely, administer medications if needed, and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy and in good hands. Whether your dog wants an outside adventure, a leisurely neighborhood walk, or someone to keep them company at home—or your cat wants a calm, reliable companion, or someone to just keep the food coming and the litter box clean—my goal is for every pet to feel safe, loved, and comfortable until you're back together. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work full time in the office during the week, so I'm generally the best fit for pets who already have a midday dog walker, access to a dog door, or are comfortable being home during the day. If your pet's schedule is a little different, don't hesitate to reach out! I'm always happy to talk through your routine and see if we can find a plan that works well for everyone. I live in a first-floor condo with easy access to plenty of green space, walking trails, and quiet neighborhoods for regular walks and sniff-filled adventures. Since I don't currently have pets of my own, your dog will have my full attention while they're here. I'll follow their normal routine as closely as possible and make sure they get plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection, and downtime. I know pets are happiest when their routine stays as consistent as possible. I'll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to medications, favorite toys, and bedtime routines—while treating your home with the same care and respect I would my own. You'll receive regular updates and photos, and if anything unexpected comes up, I'll communicate with you right away so you always know your pet is in good hands.

“Thor was happy when we picked him up, so I know that India went above and beyond in taking care of him. If ever we are in need of a dog sitter, we'll without hesitation give India a call. Thank you India.”

“Helen was great and provided constant updates with Walter. I appreciated she let us into her apartment with our dog so we could see how comfortable she made it for him. You could see the care and preparation she put in for his stay. When we picked up our dog you could see he formed a bond with Helen in just a short time period. She clearly puts in the effort before and during to make your dogs stay wonderful.”

“Diego, was great caring for our fur babies during our vacation. He communicated with us everyday and provided photos and. videos of our babies enjoying themselves. They appeared to he enjoy him and his roommate. Our babies are spoiled at home and we can tell they received the same attention as if they were home. We really appreciated this. He provided them space both indoors and outdoors for them to run and have as much playtime as the needed. Diego understood their mealtime and gave Apollo extra attention so he would eat as he is normally not a good eater. They Loved hanging out with his puppy CoCo and they all seemed to get a long great. We don’t trust anyone else watching our babies but Diego! Thank you so much for treating our babies like family.”

About: I have been watching animals for friends and family since I was a kid. I thoroughly enjoy checking in on animals and getting to know them. I am pretty flexible, but I can play with your dog/cat, take them on a walk, administer medicine as needed, feed them, etc. I am available in the evenings during the week, and my weekend availability varies. Feel free to send me a walking/sitting request and I can see how I may be able to accommodate you! I will keep any key/code provided for entry safe, and I will take off my shoes as I come inside. I will also of course clean up any messes left by the pet as best as I can. I will respect your home as my own!
“Our dog loved their stay with Laura, Simon, and their children! We received photos and updates daily. Our dog unfortunately got sick while we were traveling and they even took her to the vet and administered medicine. We will absolutely be repeat customers.”

“Nina was a lifesaver when my flight got cancelled yesterday and I had to extend my dog’s stay. She saved me so much stress with her flexibility and care for my boy. Thank you again!”

“Very reliable. Melonie did outstanding in caring for Fitz. She made sure i see pictures daily. She became a 2nd Mom to Fitz; no adjustment needed when we dropped him off and he was happy and content when we picked him up. He’s normally anxious in change of environment but he really felt a home with Melonie and her household. No issues at all in our previous and current visits.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oxon Hill
My dog truly enjoyed his visit with Andrea! This lovely young lady had so much patience and was very kind to my not-quite-socialized dog, that I teasingly say is going through a rebellious teen stage. My dog likes to bark at anyone, & thinks that he's the biggest pup, despite his small size. I can tell how professional and thoughtful Andrea was, because she sat him for a week, and checked in periodically-always asking first before trying anything new. She kept me updated with cute pics & vids, which my non-furry children loved. I didn't have to provide much, and she let me know that he even was opening up more & getting along well with some other dogs. After picking him up, I could see that he was happy to see us - but had lost all of the anxiety he had before we dropped him off. Also, she lives very close to the new animal wellness center, which I think is a bonus - in case my dog ever had a medical emergency. I will DEFINITELY be booking with Andrea, in the future & would highly recommend her services to anyone I know.

Melissa took care of my Zeeba like she was her own. I received plenty of pictures that showed Zeeba on walks, playing, and eating. Zeeba had a good time in a safe environment. Melissa went above and beyond to enforce command training and introduce Zeeba to one of her cats. I would use Melissa again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful experience with Rasida! She was reliable, responsible, and incredibly caring throughout the entire time she watched our dog. She was very communicative, flexible, and willing to accommodate our needs, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dog and treated her with the same love and attention she would give her own. We truly appreciated how dependable and easy to work with Rasida was. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, and caring dog sitter. We’d happily have her watch our dog again!

Found Melonie on Rover and first met her back in January for a meet and greet before a trip I had been planning. That trip ended up not happening, so this was actually our first time using her services. The original meet-up went so well. My dog Sky isn't very socialized and tends to be anxious around new people and places, so how quickly she took to Melonie was a great sign. This was also the first time we'd left Sky with anyone outside of family, so that mattered a lot to us. Since some time had passed, Melonie graciously offered to do another meet and greet before this booking. Sky warmed up to her right away again. This time I brought my daughter along, and she felt just as confident in Melonie as I did. We both knew Sky was in good hands. Melonie has such a calm, pleasant presence, and it clearly puts Sky at ease. She sent us daily updates with pictures throughout the stay, and Sky looked happy and relaxed in every one. We'll absolutely be booking with Melonie again in the future!

We were very pleased with the care that Tim provided for our beloved senior dog. Curtis, our Jack Russell, was very happy with Tim and his pet dog. Tim administered several medications to Curtis and he advised us on a daily basis of our dog’s condition. He even sent photos. We were very satisfied with the pet sitter service and the accommodations, and we plan to use him again.

Jelik did an excellent job taking care of my dog, Rio! He kept me updated throughout the stay, and Rio looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It gave me great peace of mind knowing Rio was in such good hands. I truly appreciate the care and attention Jelik provided, and I would definitely book with him again. Highly recommend!

Fred & crew watched my two pups on very short notice for 6 nights while my husband and I traveled out of the country. I found his rate(s) fair for the care they received. Where we traveled had limited service, including WiFi which made it difficult to check in on the girls. Nonetheless, the days passed on and they were returned to us safely with all of our belongings. At drop off, they were attentive and thorough in the instructions for care. My only concern is that I provided freshpet as their meal (which needs to be refrigerated). The bag I received back was nearly full, warm and smelled rancid. Literally not possible if only sitting out for a couple hours- or even 8 hours. Future bookers: If your parenting style is unattached (not obsessive), then this will be a good sitter for you. Also, if you get a chance - check out the space that they will be keeping your pets. I didn’t care to because I genuinely didn’t have the time or resources to change my mind. If I had to, I would book again and I’d leave solid food and room temp soft food. 😬

Cindy was great. She is kind and provided great communication during our dog taz’s stay. She sent daily pictures and updates. When picking up Taz he seemed like he was comfortable and did not want to leave. I would highly recommend Cindy. I plan to use her again in the future.

Brieana and her family were absolutely amazing! We had a last minute cancellation with the person who typically watches Vito and she responded immediately and set up a meet greet. We could sense the comfort Vito felt with the family the second he walked in so we already had an overwhelming feeling of calm going into our weekend. When picking him up he was so happy but also super relaxed and it was clear he had a great stay with them. I couldn’t suggest Brieana enough. She will be at the top of our list for Vito I’m pretty sure he’s found a new best friend 😊.
Max is our go-to sitter. He takes such good care of our dog and always sends photo updates throughout the stay. We feel great about the care our pup always gets when we send her to stay with Max and highly recommend his care to anyone on the fence about who to go to with their own pet needs.

Elizabeth was great to work with, sent me daily pictures and updates of Zoe and was flexible when I needed to change the pick up time. She and Kim clearly cared for Zoe and asked for updates on how she was doing after I had picked her up. I will definitely book future stays for Zoe with them!

Joy has been our go to for over a year now. We love that she only takes one family at a time so the experience is more personable. She has a fenced in yard that my dogs love. She is also very prompt at responding at requests and general messages. Thank you Joy! -Deuce and Storm

We travel from North Carolina pretty often… and when we decide to go north Corola has been our go to! Her and her husband are really nice and pleasant people and our frenchie seems to love them! Corola keeps us updated on how he’s doing and sends us pictures often! That and the fact that they live on base gives us an extra sense of security knowing that our dog is safe and ok! We highly recommend Corola to anyone seeking dog care!
