“David and his family were great for my dog! Very communicative through the whole process and made us comfortable at the meet and greet. They sent plenty of pictures of my dog accompanying their everyday life, so I know he was well taken care of and had a great time. Will definitely book David and his family again!”

“Nicole is the best!! She asked many good questions on intake, I knew my dog was going to get the best care. I got many photos and a full report on his day. It is obvious from all the little details that Nicole gave my dog so much love! Im so grateful!”

“Miguelina took great care of our pups when we went out of town last minute. She sent photos everyday along with keeping us updated on how they were doing. They came home happy and healthy:) highly recommend”

“Melissa is amazing. She is very prompt with messaging, sent us daily pics/videos, and our dogs looked happy in their huge backyard. She has 2 kids and were playing with our dogs, cuddling, and sleeping with them. Her other 2 dogs are super sweet, calm, and got along with our dogs. She also brushed our crazy shedding dogs and offered to pick and drop off without charge so we can spend some more time with them before we left for vacation. We were worried our dogs wouldn’t want to come back to us, because they were getting so much love and care. Thank you Melissa! You kept our family’s mind at ease while on vacation. Pretty sure the dogs thought they were on vacation too. Lol. Definitely recommend!”
“Brianna was super kind and patient w/ pup. He takes a long time to adjust to new environments and can be anxious, and there were some challenges but Brianna was always reassuring that it was ok and she handled it well. She sent plenty of pictures and videos and gave daily updates. I recommend her services to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Mary watched my dog nacho for a week while I was out of town. I love that I don’t have to worry about him at all, because I know he’s having so much fun and while taking care of. Mary provides plenty of update pictures without feeling like I’m getting pictures every hour of the day, so for me the frequency of updates is perfect!”

“I'm a happy returning client. Wendy thoroughly enjoys her stay with Sonia and John. John provides a lot of updates and photos, and I can relax knowing that she's having a great time.”

“Marcela is amazing! Our puppy loves her and being at her home and even playing with the other pups that may be boarding there as well. Our furbaby was very shy and nervous and I’ve noticed over time her confidence building as she’s been boarding with Marcela! Marcela is very flexible and accommodating when we have last minute trips… we can always count on her. She’s the best!”

“Jordyn was great with our dog! She and her partner were such a sweet couple and made Skye feel right at home. She provided pictures throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Skye got along great with her pups, and Jordyn was very flexible and reliable. We would absolutely book with her again!”

“Jizelle was fantastic! This was our first time boarding Whitney using Rover (or ever for that matter) and Jizelle made everything so easy. From initial communication, to meeting her and her lovely pups at the meet and greet, all of our interactions with Jizelle confirmed that Whitney was in great hands while we were away. Jizelle was also very flexible with a last minute request to shift the drop off earlier than planned and provided us with regular photos and updates to let us know how things were going - she even braved foot high snow and ice to ensure that Whitney had adequate walks and fresh air following a once-in-a-decade snowmageddon! I 100% plan to utilize Jizelle's boarding services going forwards and would not hesitate to give her my strongest recommendation.”

“Henry is a great sitter who was able to accommodate care on short notice for my quirky Golden Koda, who cannot be near another dog as he gets fear reactive; thus he must be the only dog in care. We had a successful meet & greet, and Henry asked a lot of good questions. He communicated and sent pictures regularly and kept me informed about how Koda was doing. I felt comfortable leaving my pup for a doggie staycation while I got to spend a few much-needed days on a trip with some family members. I would not hesitate to have Henry care for Koda again or to recommend him to others.”

“Shanti boarded our pup, Koda while we were on vacation for over a week. She provided excellent care, sent pictures, and reached out with updates. Koda seemed very happy when we returned for pick up. We will be reaching out again. Thanks Shanti!”

About: I’ve been a lifelong pet lover and have had pets my entire life. I’m also a dog mom myself, so I understand the anxiety that comes with leaving your pet while you’re away. I truly believe pets are family, and I’ll care for yours as if they were my own. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and individual needs, and I’m always happy to go the extra mile to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and loved. Booking with me means you’ll also receive detailed updates and plenty of photos, so you can feel connected and have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I love using my breaks to step away from the computer, get some fresh air, and take walks with my pup. After work, you’ll usually find me going for a run or getting my steps in with my dog. I’d love to have your furry friend join me! I have a very friendly and playful 3-year-old Bernedoodle who loves making new friends! I have a spacious, pet-friendly home with a yard (not fenced), plus a great, walkable neighborhood where we love getting outside. Your pup will have plenty of space, exercise, and companionship!
“Alyssa was very good with communication and regularly sent us pictures. It is clear that Bones felt safe and comfortable during his stay. We would definitely re-book with Alyssa.”

“If you love your dog, you want this family to pet board/sit while you’re away. Phenomenal to work with. They love animals and it shows with the care they take. I am very particular about what sort of people are allowed to watch my dog (commutative, social, can follow the walking scheduling etc) and they passed with flying colors.”

“Thanks to Susan B. and her family, my husband and I were able to fully enjoy a vacation over the holidays without worrying about our pups. Will definitely reach out to her if we are traveling again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Springfield
Kate took fantastic care of my border terrier, quickly getting him comfortable and settled, and she showed him lots of love throughout the week. She took him on regular walks and he even lost a little bit of weight (which he needed)! She sent us photos regularly, which we appreciated, and it was clear he was well cared for and felt at home! She was great and we’d board our dog with her again in a heartbeat!

We couldn’t have asked for better care for our Marley! Hyunbang, Austin, and Love were absolutely wonderful with her while we were away. The regular updates helped put our minds at ease, and the photo updates were so cute and fun, and we looked forward to them each day. It was clear Marley was having the best time playing and running around their backyard and then napping comfortably around the house. She came home happy, and we’re already looking forward to her next stay with them!

Paula is absolutely wonderful! This was the third time she has watched Samba, and once again, she was amazing. This time, she cared for Samba for 10 days, and we felt completely comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. She kept us updated and took such great care of Samba. We’re so grateful to have found someone we trust so much and would highly recommend Paula to anyone looking for an excellent dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
