“Jona is AMAZING! This is our second time having her watch our mini goldendoodle! At this point, we just call her place Disney World for pets. She stays in communication the entire time while sending photos of our pet eating his food, going for a walk, playing or resting. She’s very caring and you can tell that she loves nurturing animals. We hope to only use Jona when we need someone to watch our dog. She’s truly TOP NOTCH!!!”

“Very happy with our first Rover experience. I was nervous about leaving our dog but Michelle took great care of her. She sent pictures during our trip and it was nice to see our dog was doing so well. Michelle was also prompt with communication. I would not hesitate to use her again on our next trip!”

“This is the first time I used Rover for my cat. I was very nervous as I didn’t know what to expect. However, Heather was very accommodating. She allowed me to bring any items my pet was comfortable and familiar with. When I had missed an item and sent via Amazon, Heather was able to set it up and sent a pic. She sent me daily updates and pictures and reassured me that everything was alright. I would definitely be utilizing her services again.”

“Megha is one of the best sitters Pickle had. Our boy fitted right in as he got a lot of love and cuddles from the family. Megha was thorough and gave us updates throughout the day. She even treated Pickle’s ear. We’d love to have her take care of Pickle again”

“She was great, we did a meet and great and was friendly, loving towards my dog. Very patient and accommodating with changes on the book. My dog and hers got along great. I will book her again for sure!”

“Thank you Andrew so much for looking out for Slim. Andrew and his family were caring and loving while taking care of my little guy. I will definitely trust him with your pet any day! Thank you again!”

“This was the second stay Leo had with Jim. With all the frequent updates and communication, we knew exactly what was going on with our little boy in JIm's sweet home. We felt so lucky to have found a home outside of the home for our little boy. We will definitely book another stay with Jim.”

“Jordyn was everything we wanted in a sitter! Chance was socialized and engaged from start to finish. Jordyn sent us photos daily, which was so helpful alongside my anxiety. My boy was spoiled rotten! I will always recommend her for anyone on Rover.”

“Maria goes above and beyond to care for dogs. She cooks for dogs in her care. There were times I was thinking “my dog is eating better than I am”. She sends multiple daily photos and videos. You could immediately tell, it was more than just a job to her. Her, and her entire family, went above and beyond to make my dog feel right at home during my last 2 weeks away. I would recommend her for anyone who feels that dogs are a member of the house and I will be using her again for future trips from home.”

“Joy and her family did a wonderful job taking care of my dog especially after accommodating me on several fronts — including a last minute request and a dog food delivery that never arrived. She was communicative and courteous and followed care instructions to the letter. She has a great backyard with a pool! Her kids are gentle and loving with pets. Would highly recommend and definitely book again!”

“Bori had such a great time with this lovely couple! They provided so many updates with photos and videos. You can tell my dog had the best time ever! She came back looking super happy. Will definitely consider them again in the future!”

“Sujan did such a great job! I left my 2 dogs with him for the first time for 8 whole days over the Christmas Holiday while I was on a cruise. I got so many photos and updates and my pups seemed so happy and comfortable! They even smelled like they had a bath, which was so thoughtful considering my long travel day coming home. Thank you so much Sujan!”

“Sophie and Austin did an AMAZING job caring for our pups. We felt a peace of mind throughout our trip thanks to frequent pics/videos and updates. Highly recommend.”

“John was an amazing sitter for our golden while we were away on an international trip for a week. He sent tons of photos of Kobe on his numerous walks and trips to the dog park. We will definitely book with John again!”

“She was absolutely amazing as a sitter for my dog! She took incredible care of her, and sent me photos and a movie each day. It was obvious that my dog was just so happy staying with her, and we will definitely use her again. This is the best experience we have ever had on Rover!”

“Sabine is EXCELLENT! Not only did she take excellent care of my two little Yorkies, she went above and beyond in their care. I fell I’ll while on my trip and had to delay my return by a day. She was understanding and incredibly helpful, even picking up extra food for them. I can tell my little pups loved her and her dogs. She is kind, loving, very observant, and an excellent communicator. Now knowing I have someone I can trust wholeheartedly, makes me feel so much better when considering going out of town. THANK YOU, Sabine!”
“Matthew with family is very accommodating and will entertain your dog for a great price! They went swimming and on long walks. Executed Ozzie’s food plan and supplements no problem. They sleep in the bed with their dogs which my dog liked. I’ll be a return customer if they’ll have us.”

Leigh is amazing! She truly loves dogs and welcomes them into her home as if they’re her own. My senior dog wasn’t eating well the first two nights so Leigh paid extra close attention and tried a few tricks to get her to eat and it worked! My dog had a wonderful and relaxing time staying at her home. She also has a big fenced in yard that was perfect for my hound who loves smells. We will absolutely use Leigh again for boarding.

We left Meeko with Tracy for a week while away at the beach and we truly could not have chosen a kinder, more caring sitter. Meeko is a 150 pound sweet malamute boy who enjoys lots of attention and casual walks and my goodness, was he absolutely the center of attention with Tracy! Tracy went above and beyond, walking Meeko many times throughout the day and ensuring he was set up to stay cool and hydrated. She sent many, many updates and photos every day, which our family looked forward to and appreciated greatly. Her home is so welcoming and located close to several wooded paths, so any dog would be in heaven with her! I cannot recommend Tracy enough and Meeko came home happy, comfy, and sleepy. We are lucky to have found such a wonderful, caring person that we know loved our boy as much as we do. Thank you so much, Tracy!

Stella is a senior dog and leery of strangers. She took to Henry right away and was comfortable with him. When we came to pick her up, she kept going back to him, which let me know that it had been a good experience for her. Henry is also very alert; he texted us to let us know he thought Stella had a UTI and he was right. I will definitely book Henry again. You can relax and not worry when you leave your pet with him. I gave Henry a 5 star rating (the most I could); he is worth at least 10 stars!!
A big thanks to Natalia for her good care of my dog Yeena. Yeena is a picky eater but Natalia worked to get her meals she liked. Yeena is still learning to socialize so being able to run and play in her yard was perfect. Natalia sent several videos so I could see Yeena was enjoying her visit. I thank her again for her patience and hope we can call upon her in the future.

Josephine was great with my two dogs! She was super accommodating on last minute schedule changes and had no problem administering meds. They loved hanging out in the yard and playing with her dog Mannie. My pups came back happy and tired. I’d would highly recommend her!

Serena was a true lifesaver on this trip for us! She took such excellent care of our dog, who needed special medications and a specific diet while we were gone. Under her care, he was back to his normal self in no time and had a great time during his stay, as usual. We were so grateful to be able to go on our planned trip knowing he was in good care. Serena was great at sending us regular updates and giving Tucker lots of TLC during his stay. Would recommend 1000%

This was my first time having a non family member take care of my 16 year old dog. I found Suzi on Rover and felt comfortable with the reviews showcasing how great Suzi was with other senior dogs. Once I reached out to her and I got to visit her and get to know her as a person and her caretaking experience I knew I had found the right person to care for my dog for a long weekend trip. My dog felt right at home as soon as she arrived to Suzi's house and from then on she received only love and the best care. I got daily texts from Suzi telling me how things were going which helped me feel comfortable and enjoy my trip more. Suzi was 100 percent focused on meeting my senior dog's needs and medical limitations. I plan to continue using her caretaking services many more times. I feel very lucky to have found her.

Very happy to have my sweet pittie boarding with Alexis and Ducky again! She ran up to the house with great excitement and was welcomed warmly! Alexis also gave wonderful update pics and info on Envy's stay! She is easy to coordinate and communicate with! Will be bringing my pup back (:

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
