“Kim was responsive, friendly and great at giving updates on our pups! She spent time with them and communicated very well. We appreciated her flexibility and willingness to love on our pups!”

“Jing was wonderful! She took great care of my cat, Kiki. She provided updates and went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend Jing and would book in the future.”

“Rachel recently watched our two cats while we were out of town and it was one of the least stressful trips we’ve ever taken from a pet care perspective. Rachel checked in with a note each time she visited the house and sent pictures, which was much appreciated, and the cats were happy and healthy when we returned, so we couldn’t ask for anymore. We will definitely be reaching out to her again next time we need a pet sitter!”

“Laura was responsive to my request and easy to communicate with. I needed someone to give my dog an insulin injection while I was out of town because my husband doesn’t do shots. We had a meet and greet visit in advance. I found Laura to be pleasant and good with the dogs. The day of Laura’s visit, my husband said she was on time, polite, professional, efficient. We would hire her again.”

“Sheila did a great job taking care of ALL of the critters at our house, two dogs, two cats, and a bunny. She took time before our trip to come over a couple of times to get to know the fur babies and ensure they were comfortable with her. When there seemed to be an issue, she let us know immediately and provided regular updates in the course of the week we were gone. Highly recommended. We would definitely user her again.”

“Katherine came for a daily drop in for our dog while we were on vacation. She did an excellent job, and sent me daily reports and pictures. I highly recommend Katherine as a pet sitter!”

“Gabrielle was the perfect sitter for our two cats. She fed them, cleaned their litter, and gave lots of snuggles and pets. She was also a phenomenal communicator, sending us detailed messages and several pictures each night. We definitely give her our highest recommendation and will be using her again next time.”

“Overall Sierra was great. She was very communicative and was willing to sort of modify what a normal visit would look like since I have pretty shy and anxious cats.”

“manrong was communicative, reliable, clean, and great with both our highly anxious dog and cat. our cat has never come out for a sitter until we booked with her, which really spoke volumes. manrong also followed all my instructions and made adjustments when asked. she was patient and gentle with our babies so i felt completely at ease while we were gone. i’d definitely recommend her!”

“Courtney took such good care of my cats while I was out of town. One of my boys recently had surgery so I was extremely nervous at leaving him but with Courtney I needed not be - he was incredibly good hands! She was reliable, communicative, knowledgeable, and gave my boys all the love and attention. Would definitely use her services again!”

About: I have owned dogs my entire life and am lucky to still be caring for my childhood dog (17 years old!). Because of this experience, I know some dogs require a routine schedule to make sure they continue to be happy and healthy. Every dog has a one of a kind personality and I love getting to know each dogs quirks and little joys! I will be working close to a 9-5 schedule around 4 days a week. I will be able to give potty breaks or walks before and/or after my work during the work week but I am much more flexible Friday-Sunday. I live in an apartment so I unfortunately cannot offer dog sitting at my place at this time. Because I live in an apartment, I make sure to give my dog morning and evening walks and can make sure your dog gets the same treatment!
“Courtney did a wonderful job from being flexible with scheduling, communication, and even more so with sharing great photos/updates of the pups! Would certainly recommend her for your next booking💯”

“Stephanie was very attentive in learning about our cats and their needs (ie feeding and medicine schedules). She was great at communicating with us while we were gone, providing picture from each visit. We would definitely use her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Fairfax Station
Kate is a great pet sitter - she came to meet our cats before our weeklong trip away and provided all the info we needed to feel like our fur babies were okay while we were gone. We felt like she was a super experienced cat lover and nothing could happen that she couldn’t handle - it was so nice to not have to worry! Good communication and our cats loved her.

I traut Mariel with all of my pets and home visits. I have left my dog twice and have also had her take care of my cats while i was away. She is easy to communicate with, shows genuine love for your pets, and always seams to go above and beyond. Someone you can count on for all the issues that can come up. Strongly recommend her to anyone!
Forest is always the first person we will go to when we need someone to watch our cat! They’ve taken the time to build a great rapport with him so he trusts them enough to take his meds and food every time. We always come back to a clean home and a calm happy cat!

Jiamin was great! She checked on our two cats twice a day (hour visits) for a week while we were away. She made sure the boys were fed (which can be a tall task since they like to eat each others’ food and one gets easily distracted away from eating), played with them a ton which they need bc they are pretty active, and gave them all the pettings. She made sure the food bowls were clean after each feeding and did the litter. She also treated the house with care which we appreciate too! Highly recommend Jiamin!

Jenesis exceeded our expectations when caring for our cat during daily visits. We appreciate her kindness and communication, particularly how she left us a status note for each day when sending photos of our pet. We will not hesitate to reach out to her in the future!
Ella did an amazing job with my tuxedo cat! She sat and played with her-gave her treats-scooped the litter box-even managed to brush her a little! Tazz only comes out for those that she trusts- Ella was patient and kind and took her time with her. I will be booking again! Highly recommend this young lady!!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairfax Station. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
