“Rachel is a great pet sitter! From our first meeting, I could tell she loves working with people's pets and would be the right person to entrust our kitties to. For her 2 drop in visits with our 2 cats, she kept us informed of how things went and how our cats interacted and behaved with her. She updated and sent pictures with each drop in visit, following all of our instructions and ensuring their safety and well being. She was responsible, friendly and fulfilled all our requirements. Thanks, Rachel!”

“She is trustworthy and caring, my dogs and cat warmed up to her immediately. I also really appreciated the multiple photos and detailed updates for each visit. I would 100% recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

About: Hi! My name is Natasha (formally), but I go by Natalie or Nat. I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 15 years old alongside working in a veterinary hospital. I am willing to administer medications if need be and am happy to spend as much time with your furry friend as necessary! Let me know how I can help you help them. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to prioritize each pet’s individual needs. I’m available throughout the day for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I can easily adjust my schedule to accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend care. I enjoy building a consistent routine for the pets I care for so they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any special routines that help pets feel at ease. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space by keeping everything clean and secure, providing regular updates and photos, and ensuring their pet’s routine stays as consistent as possible. My goal is to give both pets and their owners peace of mind by providing reliable, attentive, and compassionate care.
About: I’ve taken care of many pets in the past. I also have a long time favorite customer that i continually go back to for visits. I go to Nova Community College full time and work part time as an RBT (registered behavior technician) with autistic children. I own 3 dogs of my own at the current moment, so taking care of them is part of my daily routine. Anything I can do. I have a fenced in backyard at my home and i let my dogs walk freely. I’m open to any accommodations needed for dogs +cats.

“Ella did an amazing job with my tuxedo cat! She sat and played with her-gave her treats-scooped the litter box-even managed to brush her a little! Tazz only comes out for those that she trusts- Ella was patient and kind and took her time with her. I will be booking again! Highly recommend this young lady!!!”

“Fatima was amazing!! She sent pictures and updates about my cats while we were away and I was able to enjoy my trip without being worried about my little guys. We are so grateful that she was able to check in on them and she will be our go to sitter in the future.”

“Brianne is amazing! She’s so thorough and caring for my senior dog, leaves the best updates after visits, and is extremely communicative! Fully trust her with my special needs dog!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and I enjoy taking them on walks or caring for their other needs. I have owned both big dogs and small dogs as well as senior dogs and puppies! I do not have a traditional work schedule so I am available for most times that you may be at work! I will fit in any pets that need care when I am not at work. I will follow all instructions that you leave for your pet to know how they feel comfortable in your own and around others. I want to treat your pet and your space properly!
“Uno had the best time with Jiamin! She took wonderful care of my cat, and sent lots of photos and videos. It’s easy to see her genuine care for animals. She is responsible, communicative and so sweet!”

About: Over the years I have taken care of many different kinds of animals including dogs and cats (of which I've owned two of each), guinea pigs, mice, and more! In my veterinary science classes, I learned a lot about the handling of dogs, cats, and small animals and got lots of hands-on experience working with dogs during weekly grooming days. Previously, I have worked in a dog hotel as a kennel assistant where I provided many different services for dogs including feeding, cleaning and walking. Along with this, I also often pet sit for my friends and family :D I have plenty of time to look after pets this summer. If anything pops up that will be communicated through messages or on my calendar 👍 I have experience working with a variety of tempers in dogs, cats, and other animals. I'm very patient with nervous/shy animals and can match a higher energy as well.
“Beth was amazing as always and extremely accommodating. Not only do the dogs love her but we adore her as well. She treats the pups as if they are her own and is extra careful of our elderly dog. As long as she is available when we go out of town, she will be our doggie care 🩵”

“Kimberley was the best pet sitter for my little sweets, Pumpkin! She responded to the inquiry quickly, came over same day to meet me, and took lots of pictures and left great updates each morning after dropping by. I felt very comfortable with her and could tell Pumpkin did too. I will definitely book with her again 🫶🏼”

“I wish we could give Sarah 100 stars instead of just 5! Our dog Gaia is almost 8 years old and has trust issues when meeting new humans so patience is a must. Sarah took the time to get to know her prior to us leaving and was very attentive and gentle with her. While we were gone, Sarah went above and beyond to make sure Gaia was taken care of. She sat with her to make sure she ate her food, she played with her, brushed her and gave her plenty of love. She treated Gaia like she was her own dog and I can’t thank her enough. She’s an angel!”

About: Howdy, my name is Anthony, feel free to call me Tony. I am a seasoned dog sitter; proficient in nurturing puppies, kittens, and wise old souls. My spouse and I moved here with our cat Bobbi Beans and our dog Valkyrie. I started online classes and dog walking full time at the start of this year and have found a love and talent for helping people and their pets. Combined with over 13 years of dog ownership and dog walking/sitting experience I hope to provide your furry friend with the best of care. I will take care of your pet full time while taking online classes at night. With my current path in life, pet care claims the spotlight, ensuring beloved companions receive full-time care and devotion. Positive reinforcement, finding the shaded routes or cool parks to walk on hot days, constant water breaks, our furred friends' safety and well being is paramount to me. Ensuring unmatched comfort for all, while skillfully nurturing canine minds and hearts with gentle guidance.

Jiamin was an amazing sitter. Did an awesome job making sure they were not only fed, but that they felt happy and comfortable. She took the time to find out what toy our kitties liked so they could get a good play time each visit. I would definitely hire her again!

We enlisted Maria to visit and provide care for our "super-senior" 16 year old cat (Tabitha), as our usual neighbor was not available. This was for an extended trip of 11 days, and we were very concerned about finding a proper caregiver. Maria did a terrific job! She followed our instructions precisely, and she had no difficulty in giving Tabitha her meds 2x/day (not an easy task). She provided pictures and an update summary from every visit. We came home from our trip to find Tabitha content and quite well. We will definitely enlist Maria for our next trip.

Lucas was GREAT!! Mishu can be shy but opened up to him fairly quickly<3. Lucas went out of his way to update me on how Mishu was doing, as well as sending me pictures of her. It was nice being able to know she was okay from afar. You can truly tell Lucas loves animals, even Mishu noticed haha. If you’re looking for a sitter for your sitter for your furry babies, i would 110% recommend Lucas.

This was Kate’s first time watching my crew and it couldn’t have gone better. From the initial meet and greet to the last day everything was great. My cats took to her almost immediately. She is very communicative and send pictures every visit. It makes it easier to travel when you know your pets are being well cared for.

Bridget is wonderful with our kitty. Came over to learn our needs for our diabetic kitty and made sure she was ready for the task. She was prompt at timing and hung out with our fur baby to give her plenty of loving. We received photos for every visit. We would book with her again!

Ella did an amazing job with my tuxedo cat! She sat and played with her-gave her treats-scooped the litter box-even managed to brush her a little! Tazz only comes out for those that she trusts- Ella was patient and kind and took her time with her. I will be booking again! Highly recommend this young lady!!!

Winnie was AMAZING with our dog and cat. She gave them tons of attention and made sure they were mentally stimulated. She also sent us thorough updates after each drop-in, which relieved a lot of our anxieties. I would definitely rehire her, and I highly recommend her if you want someone who takes care of your pets like they’re her own.

Matt is an exceptional pet sitter who has taken care of our cats several times over the years. He has gone above and beyond to make it through snowy and icy weather and check on the animals despite the hazardous conditions. He and his wife Carolina are our go-to sitters.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairfax. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
