“Kateland was excellent in taking care of our cat for the week while we were out on vacation. She would send plenty of pictures and descriptions of her visits and was very kind!”

About: I currently have an open schedule and can come walk and play with your dogs and cats as early or as late as you would like! I am flexible. I've just moved to Vienna, live alone, and have an open schedule. I am flexible and reliable, and would love to play with and care for your dogs and cats! I took care of up to 5 cats and 1 human, simultaneously, for 14 years. They received a lot of my love and attention. We spent lots of time in nature trails, our backyard, and on the couch. And now I'm happy to extend that to your dogs!

“Alison did a fantastic job. Detailed reports with pictures, and was very punctual. Our dog seemed so happy during their drop-ins. Will definitely be using Alison's services in the future!”

“Jennifer was great watching our 3 cats over a long weekend! She was very easy to get in touch with, responded quickly, was very responsible and reliable, sent great updates and photos and of course took great care of our cats and got to know all of their personalities. She even got our very shy girl to come out when she came for her visits! We will be using her again for future trips!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, hamsters, fish!) and have spent time volunteering at shelters and even fostering dogs when I was in high school. I have a cat of my own right now and am eager to get to know other pets and help out community members in need of pet care! I have a full time job during the week but am available on weekends and some evenings. I look forward to helping care for your pet! I will treat your pet like it’s my own. They are furry family members and I will take care of them like I would want someone to take care of my cat :)
“Anne did a great job petsitting Charlie. She watched him in the afternoon when I had to go into work. She arrived on time, followed all the instructions we provided for his care, and we came home to a happy puppy.”

“Michael was prompt and responsive and took great care of Mindy, adjusting to her needs. There were a couple unexpected surprises along the way - one major one which we also did not expect while away - and that was gardeners in the back yard…which Mindy wasn’t very happy with - but Michael swooped in and dealt with it as well as he could, and remained professional. From the pictures, Mindy seemed to enjoy their time together. We would invite Michael back again!”

About: I’ve taken care of family dogs almost my whole life. I’ve been trusted to walk, feed and play with them. I am not a professional trainer but can adapt to help with the process! I’m currently a student at college but only go in for one class so have a lot of free time all day! I am very flexible. I will not be doing in home care but overall I will be making sure leashes are snug on and all doors closed within reach of the pet.
About: Hi there! I love animals and have been dog sitting since 2012! I myself have owned dogs growing up and adopted a cat named Albus in 2014! I also have experience with fish, bunnies, chickens, geckos, chameleons, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and frogs! I previously volunteered at a local zoo putting together meals for animals so I had plenty of experience with meal prep and feedings, even with live food. If you are not seeing availability for what you need please message me! Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to do a formal interview! I work weekdays between 8 and 5. I am free after work on most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and after 7pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. House sitting may be limited to the weekend depending on my work schedule. I may have some flexibility with advanced notice, please feel free to message me if you aren’t seeing availability for what you need. Most of my availability will be during weekends at any time of day. I love playing with animals and will happily keep them entertained! I also will give plenty of pets and affection if you pet enjoys that! I have worked with many dogs and cats of all ages and levels of energy and can accommodate accordingly! I love snapping photos (if ok’d) of your pets to share with you!
“Trent took excellent care of our three pets while we were away. We have three pets, an older black lab Coal requires medication twice daily (thanks to some jerk running him over in the dog park parking lot), along with my wife’s two cats, Cooper & Murphy. Trent was completely reliable with his care routine, including using excellent judgement on the length of Coal’s three daily walks in last week’s extreme heat. What really impressed us was how quickly he connected with Murphy. She is extremely shy and cautious around new people, especially men, but she warmed up to Trent almost immediately and even sitting next to him to let him pet her - which is the highest praise we could give any pet sitter! Trent was easy to work and coordinate with, including being very responsive. His communication throughout our trip was outstanding. He kept us updated and sent wonderful photos that gave us such peace of mind knowing our quadrupeds were in great hands. His attention to detail and genuine care for our pets made our time away stress-free, evidently stress free for our pets as well given Murphy’s endorsement. We highly recommend Trent and will definitely be booking him again for future trips.”

“Quincy was amazing! She kept me up to date her entire visit and took us on last minute. The dogs had so much fun with her and she provided amazing care. She showed our dogs so much love and affection during her stay, it took all the anxiety off of me as I was away for work. Would definitely book again!”
About: I’ve loved animals my whole life and grew up with a sweet senior dog. Though we now live far from family, I always look forward to visiting my fur nieces and nephews back home. I'm a dedicated animal lover who truly enjoys bonding with pets, making them feel safe, loved, and happy. I treat every pet like family and take pride in being gentle, patient, and attentive to their individual needs. Happy to meet and greet to see if we are a great fit! I work from home most days, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide attentive, timely care. I also have a car, so travel is easy! I know how much trust it takes to let someone care for your pet and enter your home. I’m respectful, reliable, and always prioritize your pet’s safety and comfort. Whether I’m stopping by for a visit or taking them on a walk, I make sure they feel secure, happy, and loved every time.
About: With over 15 years of being a dog mom and volunteering for dog rescues, there is little I have not/cannot do for your pup. I am able to administer meds, at least two daily walks, ample play time and lots of belly rubs. Experienced in effective humane dog training. I am currently on a hybrid schedule. I work from home 2-3 days a week, but I work 5 min from home and come home for furry family potty breaks. I do not work weekends. I have a fenced in backyard. I have two dogs that are vaccinated, house trained and crate trained. Dogs get ample human interaction and lots of walks.
About: I’ve cared for dogs&cats since elementary school. I’d find myself naturally responsible for feeding, walking, cleaning, and loving them. I’ve done cat sitting for a friend for as long as a month, and dog sitting basically all my life since I grew up them. I’m experienced in caring for pups less than a year old, and older dogs as well~ I worked at Dogtopia where I handled over 40 dogs in one room! I have experience handling dog scuffles and managing dog behavior. My current schedule is open and free Sunday through Saturday. The holidays being an exception as I will be out of town for the week of Christmas. I am prepared to meet the needs of your 4-legged loved one in any way that they need. Request and I will deliver as best as I can. I believe our furry friends deserve respect and have boundaries as we do.

Thank you Alison for the fantastic photos and detailed information about the information I’ve conveyed I care the most about. And going above and beyond and my baby boy (cat) leans into you even without prolonged exposure or time btw you two which means you give off good cat instincts :) thank you for doing what you do! I trust you in my house and w my boy :)

Lindsay was the best! I have a very clingy cat and she didn't hesitate to sit down and spend some time with her every visit. I received text and photo updates every day. It was a big relief knowing my favorites were taken care of while I was away. I'll be booking Lindsay for my time away in the future for sure!

Virginia was great with our two cats while we were away for our wedding, it was great to have peace of mind that they were in good hands. She very clearly loves cats and treated them with so much respect from their very first meeting! She also gave us updates through the Rover app each visit letting us know what mischief the cats got up to!

Joshua was so amazing with my furbabies! I have ring cameras and could see how calm he was around them and did everything perfectly! Would highly recommend!!! Incredibly responsive, professional and caring. And he was a total lifesaver with a last minute booking!!! 10000000000000% satisfied customer.

She was exactly who we needed to care for our finicky sweet cat. Abby communicated with us every time she visited with photos and videos of our kitty. She updated us on our kitty’s patterns and eating habits and learned when she wanted attention and when she needed a little space (so important for cats!). She was flexible with needing to find supplies in the house like trash bags when we didn’t leave enough out. Our cat clearly loved having her there and warmed up to her quickly. Bubs is usually visibly stressed after we are gone even with care but this time she was happy and relaxed when we got back. Abby was really the perfect cat sitter for us!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
