“She was exactly who we needed to care for our finicky sweet cat. Abby communicated with us every time she visited with photos and videos of our kitty. She updated us on our kitty’s patterns and eating habits and learned when she wanted attention and when she needed a little space (so important for cats!). She was flexible with needing to find supplies in the house like trash bags when we didn’t leave enough out. Our cat clearly loved having her there and warmed up to her quickly. Bubs is usually visibly stressed after we are gone even with care but this time she was happy and relaxed when we got back. Abby was really the perfect cat sitter for us!!”
About: I once said something to a friend about how my cat was just communicating his boundaries when it came to our new kitten, and they laughed and said that was the most gen-z thing they had heard in awhile. I love my cats deeply, and really enjoy spending time with other people's cats as well. I don't have a lot of expertise in administering medication, other than flea and tick topicals (which is a two-person job in our household). I do have a wide variety of cat toys and strive to give my cats enough daily enrichment to keep them fulfilled and happy, and I scoop both cats' litter boxes daily. About: I adopted my cat Albus as a kitten in 2014 when he was found in a box on the side of the road. He was dehydrated and covered in bugs. After getting him to the vet and nursing him back to health, he loves staying close by! He is about 12 years old and is now losing his eyesight but is still so playful. About: Since I was five,I grew up with pets and having the responsibility of taking care of their basic and emotional needs to the best of my ability. I'm currently in college and many of the classes I take are online so most of the time I am at home caring for my cat sage! About: Over the past 20 years, I’ve had three dogs, a Pomeranian, an Akita, and a Yorkshire Terrier. Each one had a different personality, but they were all very attached to me. None of them went to a training school, but they were all well-behaved. I trained them myself before they turned one year old. I currently live in a clean, quiet, pet-free home. There are no pets living in the house at this time, so visiting dogs will not have to share the space with other animals or adjust to another pet’s presence or scent. I only accept small dogs up to 20 lbs and prefer low-shedding breeds. My home provides a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where dogs can feel safe and relaxed during their stay. I’m home most of the day, so your dog will rarely be left alone. Big park around the house. Like walk and play with dog. I work from home as a consultant with a lot of flexibility during the week, so weekday middays are actually open rather than squeezed around something else. I'm looking after all kinds of dogs, from easy ones who just want their loop around the block to dogs who need a little more thought. My own dog is Buddy, a 70lb pittie who was very reactive towards people and animals. I've also fostered for Lost Dog and AARF in Baltimore, which meant a steady rotation of dogs showing up with almost no history, so you learn to read a dog quickly and adjust rather than run everyone through the same routine. Some of those fosters were reactive, on leash with other dogs or with strangers approaching, and a few were both. It's an area I am familiar with and I'm glad to take those dogs on. It also just made me a better walker generally. I pay attention to the small stuff, the ears and the pause, and I'd rather pick a calm route your dog actually enjoys than a scenic one that leaves them wound up. If your dog does better in a particular harness or with a specific setup, tell me and I'll use it! I used to pet sit here on Rover, and these days I stick to weekday walks and drop-ins close to home so I'm never rushing between neighborhoods. I've got a car, so rain doesn't change anything and I can get to a vet fast if I ever need to. I ask for a meet and greet for reactive dogs before every first booking. I want to meet your dog on their turf with you there, and hear how you read them, since nobody knows them better than you do! Non-reactive dogs can have a meet and greet too, but it isn't mandatory. Available weekdays, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Would love to hear about your dog! I'm currently off-season for my job, so I can reliably be scheduled from 9AM to 3PM (so I can do daycare pickup)! I have lots of flexibility this time of year. Happy to be a recurring friend! I follow whatever routine you set. Tell me where the leash and treats live, how you want the door handled, and any quirks I should know about, and I'll stick to it exactly. I leash up before opening the door, check the collar or harness fits properly, and confirm the door is locked behind me on the way out. Keys or codes stay with me and aren't shared. If anything seems off with your dog, you'll hear from me right away.
About: I have taken care of a family pet for over 5 years and helped with friends and cousins pets as well! I have a gentle yet firm approach and comfortable with dogs from 5 pounds to 99 pounds. I work from home 4 days a week and am in grad school that is 100% virtual. My schedule allows for flexibility with dogs of various sizes! I do not have a yard myself and I am well prepared to care for dogs in apartments, houses, or any other homes regardless of yards or not.
