“Becky was great with our two kitties. She spent extra time to get our shy cats to open up. By the end of the week, they were playing with her and accepting lots of pets.”

“Overall Sierra was great. She was very communicative and was willing to sort of modify what a normal visit would look like since I have pretty shy and anxious cats.”

“D'Arcy and Todd take care of my pup so well! They give her lots of love and always remember to refill her water. They are also very responsive and easy to schedule with.”

“Mary was communicative, caring and shared detailed updates! We had a lot of peace of mind that the cats were well taken care of while I was away, and they were happy and secure when we arrived home. Look forward to having Mary watch our cats again!”

“Boone can be a stubborn old hound and rather particular with the people he trusts. He took to Seth right away and it out my mind at ease. Seth’s experience and easy demeanor were a major stress relief for me. Communication was great and I had no worries while I was out of town. Will absolutely book again!”

“Abigail was a wonderful Petsitter! She was so communicative and easy to work with. I felt very reassured that my cat was in good hands! I would have no hesitation booking her again.”

“Mitzi was incredible with Pumpkin! She took her on walks, played with her, gave her treats, and communicated with all updates throughout the day. I already plan to have her watch Pumpkin again!”

“Christabelle did a fantastic job! She was reliable, communicative, and took great care of our pets while we were away. We came home to happy, well-cared-for animals and had complete peace of mind during our trip!”

“Regina did a great job taking care of our kitties. They take some time to get used to folks and really need hanging out and attention for that to happen. And to feel safe. They were so happy when we got home. It was incredible.”

About: I’ve cared for kittens on their first night home from the shelter, senior cats with mobility problems, a large dog with a recurring medical issue, to name a few! My family and friends trust that not only will I care for their pets, but stimulate and adore them, too! Having just returned from several months traveling, I have very open availability and can respond to bookings on same-day notice. I’m very mobile around the DMV area and can handle anything from mid-day drop ins to weeklong stays! The first meeting or two with a new pet is all about establishing comfort and trust. I always like to hang out on the floor with a new cat or dog and match their energy before leashing for a walk or handling some of the care chores.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I've watched my neighbors, family, and others' pets, making sure they are getting the top-notch care they deserve! Animals have always been a constant in my life, and I can't remember a time I didn't have any pets around. I work to build a connection with every animal I work with so that they feel comfortable until their human returns home. I've cared for pets big and small, and will always make sure owners get the updates they deserve. I am very flexible in my schedule, as I am a current college student. I have plenty of time in my day to make sure your pet is well cared for! In my home, I have a fenced-in yard with a designated dog area. I have plenty of room inside and outside so that your furry friend will feel comfortable. As for my client's home, I will make sure to understand the rules and boundaries for any animals I am caring for.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for 5+ years for friends, family, neighbors, and clients. I absolutely love getting to know every pet’s personality! I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies and cats to K9s and a 17-year-old dog who needed multiple medications and strict schedule. I also have 5 pets of my own (2 dogs and 3 cats), so I’m used to lots of love, different routines, and pets with all kinds of needs! Fun fact, I volunteer for rescue in puerto rico flying animals back to the states when I travel there. I’m currently in college, so my availability depends on my class schedule during the semester. However, when I’m home on school breaks, I’m completely available and would love to spend my time caring for pets! I’m flexible and happy to work around your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities! I follow each pet’s normal routine, give them plenty of attention and exercise, and make sure they feel comfortable in their own home. I’m respectful of your space, careful with instructions, and happy to provide updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for!
About: I work from home and have free time that I would love to fill with caring for your pet! I have had cats, dogs, and hamsters my whole life. I spent most of my teen years working as a pet sitter for family and friends, and most of my college years working as a pet sitter on Rover. I have recently needed some extra joy in my life and what a better way to find it then to love on your animals! I work from home and have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings to drop in on your pets! I also have time most afternoons for lunch break drop ins. I am happy to provide anything your pet may need in your home! I don’t offer boarding in my own home at this time, but may in the future.
About: I've taken care of dogs and cats intermittently since I was a child for the neighbors I babysit for. I love all animals and enjoy taking dogs on walks, spending time with them, and playing with them. I've watched puppies, adult dogs, guinea pigs, mice, and birds. As a full-time college student, I need the time away from school to reset. Pet care is the time I use to refresh from academia. Since my course load is relatively light this semester, I have plenty of time for pet care. For dogs, I take frequent time to play or just sit with them as they adjust to being away from their caretakers. For more energetic dogs, that may mean playing outside for long periods. For less energetic dogs, I often end up cuddling with them. For cats, I let them have their space and approach me as needed while I do my work. I am used to pets having specific and intricate care directions.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Vienna
D’Arcy is my go to petsitter. Her communications are great, she’s 100% reliable, she writes informative notes about the visits and sends wonderful pictures. I very much appreciate how attentive she is to details like what the cat wants to do when she’s there.♥️ When she’s had extra time, she has also been generous with longer visits - not just treating the visit like a task to finish. Thank you, D’Arcy!

Thank you so much for taking such good care of Bagel! We got home last night and could tell she was so well taken care of. 🥹 She doesn’t really open up to our other friends, so the fact that she really likes you means a lot! We really appreciate all the love and care you gave her. ❤️

Elizabeth is wonderful! She is taking great care of our cats while we’re away and is very reliable, attentive, and easy to communicate with. She follows all of our instructions carefully, keeps us updated, and gives us peace of mind knowing our cats and home are in good hands. We really appreciate her help and would absolutely trust her to care for them again. Highly recommend Elizabeth!
He is very reliable and response quickly. We had AC issue while we were away and he visited our house to feed our cat so we asked him to check the AC thermostat. He showed us the thermostat with his Facetime just like he did with our cat. It was helpful to confirm the thermostat was off.

I can’t thank Tricia enough! This was the first time my cat ever had a cat sitter and let someone in my own and Tricia was so communicative and kind from the very beginning to the meet and greet. All the photos each visit made me feel a little less sad being away knowing she was in great hands!! Just amazing attention to detail took so many notes from the meet and greet reached out with questions!! I am so thankful to have found her!!!!

Seeun and her husband provided expert care for my cats while I was away 10 days! That first day is always the hardest until I get the first picture but once I saw how happy my cats were I knew they were in good hands and I could relax on vacation. I highly recommend you book their services.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vienna. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
