“Nicole is fantastic with my dog. She's reliable and trustworthy and is really great with all animals. She is my favorite dog walker/pet sitter, and my dog feels the same.”

“Tricia has looked after our cat multiple times, she has always been completely reliable and very attentive to the details of her care routine. I would not hesitate to request her services again.”

“Fantastic sitting for my dogs on a last minute request! Was very attentive and arrived on schedule to attend to the dogs. Will absolutely check in with her again first for future needs! Thank you!”

“We've been using Christina for years because we know our cat will get the care and love she deserves. Many other sitters we tried were flaky and the cat went into hiding. Christina's always dependable and our kitty bonded with her on day one.”

“Youyou took excellent care of my two cats. While I was away, I never once worried about their well-being. During her check-ins she sent tons of photos with detailed accounts of their activities. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Teodora has been great! She keeps us posted throughout her drop in visits and sends us plenty of pictures. She plays with our puppy during the visit, which is great. We highly recommend her service!”
“When I was out of town, Darcy took great care of my foster cat. I really appreciated her playing with him, the updates and pictures I received. She has wonderful communication, was punctual and reliable. Thank you so much!”

About: My family and I have owned and continue to own multiple pets. Currently we have 1 cat, who is a handful. Our neighbors also own many pets (mostly dogs) and some neighbors even foster puppies for adoption. This has given me experience ever since I was young on dogs of different sizes and personalities from big to small and aggressive to completely calm. I’m currently looking for small work here and there so pet care like this is a perfect opportunity for me. I am currently preparing for college at Virginia Tech however, so my afternoons are typically reserved for prep. When entering your home to take care of your pet, I will ensure to be 100% respectful to you, your home and your pet. Based on that pet(s) needs I will either be a very active mover or a more sedentary person.
“Amanda did a great job with my two cats. She came on time and sent pics. One cat is very friendly the other very fearful. She handled both very well. Thank you Amanda!”

“Barb, The Relief Every Pet Owner Needs Over the years, I grew increasingly scared to leave my 3 cats in a stranger's care. If needed I always drove them to my parents but it became clear that the roadtrip stressed them out more than if I had just left them at home and had a stranger come by the house. As a 1st time Rover user, Barb was a perfect find! She made the whole process unbelievably breezy. She very punctual to the meet and greet she set up the same day I sent my request. I ran her through the cat's litter and feeding schedule and already felt good about her. Immediately after this meet and greet, she sent me a screenshot of the notes she took afterwards which were notes on the food/water/litter instructions we had discussed for the brief meet. This really sealed it for me; not only did Barb exhibit great memory recall but also great attention to detail which is certainly needed in pet care. I had Barb check in twice a day for my 3 cats for a total of 9 days. She is very punctual to the times discussed and an expert with sending photos of furry loved ones to ease anxieties. She also made sure I was made aware of any event that occurred immediately in the Rover Card for that very check-in time. When responding to her or asking her questions she was quick and attentive with her responses. One of my cats loves to escape and is a bit of a "queen of the house" type of cat so she gets a bit protective of "her home" and after giving Barb some tips and tricks in what we do, my cat became calmer and more accepting of Barb as more check-ins occurred. They grew closer towards the end which is a testament of Barb's personality and care qualities. My other 2 cats are shy ones so there was a worry that we wouldn't be able to confirm if they were eating or not. But eventually Barb's calm and gentle presence coaxed them out enough to be spotted for a food grab or a hydration stop every now and then. Overall, having Barb as a first time Rover sitter and first time pet sitter was a perfect match and I feel lucky to have had her watching over my pets.”

About: I am a local college student/lifelong pet owner, and frequently care for my friends and families pets. I also volunteered at a veterinary hospital, where I walked and cared for dogs and cats staying in the boarding area (walking dogs, feeding pets, refreshing water and litter). I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to provide attentive, loving care and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind while ensuring your pet is safe, happy, and comfortable while you're away! I am a local college student with plenty of time between and after classes to pet sit. My schedule is generally very flexible week to week. I do my best to keep their routine consistent and follow your instructions to ensure that they remain comfortable, whether that's feeding, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, or just spending quality time with them. I'll also send updates and photos so you can feel confident that they are in good hands.
About: We have owned dogs all our lives and we truly think dog sitting should be done not by big boarding facilities but by loving and caring dog parents that have the experience of loving multiple dogs throughout their lives. My wife and I have had pets from 4 years old to now in our early thirties and we just used a home dog sitter for the first time. We were a little hesistant as this was our first time and it worked out perfectly. Seeing this work in action we both said this is the way a dog should be treated if their owners go away for vacation, so we decided to try to do the same things for our neighborhood. We treat all dogs like they are our own and will not disappoint anyone that books with us. Prior to sitting each dog, I send owners a few questions to learn more about their pup (e.g., Does your dog have health issues, behavioral issues, dietary restraints, etc.?). Services may not be rendered if special needs are not disclosed. Thank you.

“Absolutely fantastic Petsit!! Seth took care of my pup recovering from surgery on 3 legs. He asked the right questions and was genuinely interested in the comfort and care of our little boy!! Very thankful and I will be booking him again!”

About: I've been fortunate to have pets since I was young, including newts, rabbits, and dogs. My beloved Marley lived a wonderful 17 years, and he's deeply missed. For the past 8 years, I've been passionate about professional pet care, and I truly love what I do. I'm certified in CPR and first aid for pets, which helps me feel confident in caring for animals. I enjoy taking walks and supporting pet owners in their care routines. To me, being helpful and kind to all living beings is very important. I'm here for you and your furry friend every day of the week! During weekdays, I happily offer daily dog walks from 9am to 5pm, with slight variations possible if I have overnight visits. On weekends, I also enjoy taking your dog for walks between 9am and 5pm, unless I'm booked overnight. I can't wait to help care for your dog and provide peace of mind for you! I used positive reinforcement with treats for dogs. I make sure to show up on time for each visit. Make sure the animal has fresh water, food, or meds if needed. Check to see if the area where the dog or cat has access is clean. Then I get the dog outside so they can enjoy their visit. If I'm doing overnights I make sure the lights are rotated on and off, take out trash, bring in mail, and packages. My goal is to make sure your pets are comfortable and well taken care of.
“Katherine is sweet. She takes good care of my cat. Very communicative and easy to deal with. You can tell she cares deeply for the animals she watches. We have rebooked her a few times and would recommend her.”

About: I have taken care of cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I've watched my neighbors, family, and others' pets, making sure they are getting the top-notch care they deserve! Animals have always been a constant in my life, and I can't remember a time I didn't have any pets around. I work to build a connection with every animal I work with so that they feel comfortable until their human returns home. I've cared for pets big and small, and will always make sure owners get the updates they deserve. I am very flexible in my schedule, as I am a current college student. I have plenty of time in my day to make sure your pet is well cared for! In my home, I have a fenced-in yard with a designated dog area. I have plenty of room inside and outside so that your furry friend will feel comfortable. As for my client's home, I will make sure to understand the rules and boundaries for any animals I am caring for.

Alex is so amazing! She’s taken care of our cats twice now and it’s been great each time. Very communicative and accommodating, stays longer than we even say, and takes a lot of pictures and videos :). One of our cats was also on medications and she handled that with ease as well! Definitely would rebook!

Eliza is the best! She just gets it, and you can tell as soon as you meet her. She knows how to make even nervous dogs feel comfortable, gives each dog individualized care tailored to their temperament, didn't mind a high maintenance picky eater, sent lots of pics, made me feel so secure they were in good hands! Can't sing her praises enough

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Vienna stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vienna. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
