About: My family has a nine-year-old Goldendoodle named Rocky, and caring for him has been a wonderful part of my life. When I lived with my parents, I helped take care of Rocky by taking him outside for potty breaks every morning and before bedtime. After work, I enjoyed taking him on walks around our neighborhood, giving him exercise and time to explore. I also loved spending time with him in my parents’ backyard, where he could relax and enjoy the outdoors while I worked on yard projects. Through these experiences, I learned the importance of being patient, responsible, and attentive to a dog’s daily needs. Now that I have moved out of my parents’ home, I would love to share that same care and attention with other dogs while their owners are traveling. As a dog sitter, I can provide regular potty breaks, enjoyable walks, outdoor playtime, and plenty of companionship. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I would do my best to make each dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in caring and responsible hands! I’m currently working full-time. I plan to sit your dog on weekends when I can pay attention to their needs and when most people might be travelling. I will take your dog on regular potty breaks. Let them enjoy the backyard in my townhouse. I will also walk them and take photos to share with the owners while they are away.

“Alexis did a wonderful job taking care of Ivy while I was away for the holidays - she gave detailed updates (& lots of pictures) which I really appreciated!”

About: I’ve had a dog of my own who will always hold a special place in my heart. 🐶💕 I’d love to give your pup the same love, attention, and care they deserve! I work full-time, but I live very close to home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to check in on your babies throughout the day. I’ll make sure they get regular walks, attention, and care while you’re away! I have two friendly cats who are happy to keep your pets company! 🐱💕 If your pet prefers their own space, I also have a spare bedroom where they can relax comfortably and have some quiet time. I’ll always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
“Abigail was a wonderful Petsitter! She was so communicative and easy to work with. I felt very reassured that my cat was in good hands! I would have no hesitation booking her again.”

“Seth was absolutely amazing! The constant communication and the daily pictures and videos he sent make you very comfortable. When I came home everything was clean for my cat and left the place just like how we left it. I would definitely recommend Seth as I will be booking him more for the future”

“Trent took care of my cats in two separate occasions, and he was great both times. He’s reliable, communicative and took good care of the cats. I would definitely reach out to him in the future when we need him!”

About: What sets me apart is that I truly treat every pet as if they were my own. I grew up with two dogs and have years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages and personalities. I've cared for family members' dogs, including senior dogs with health conditions that required administering daily medications and providing extra patience and attention. I've also helped care for friends' young puppies, reinforcing potty training, maintaining routines, and giving them plenty of playtime and affection. I understand how important consistency, communication, and trust are when leaving your pet with someone else. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, a calm companion, or a little extra care due to age or medical needs, I'm committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Also I WORK FROM HOME, makes day caring for your little ones easier. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. I work from home!! This helps with me being able to give your little one all the care and attention they need, so you can have peace of mind. I have a pet friendly condo where there are plenty of dog spots to walk and play with your loved one. I can crate a schedule around what they’re used to.
About: I've had dogs my whole childhood, and went to work at daycare and boarding later on. I absolutely love pets, and pets tend to love me! I've taken care of senior animals and know how to pill a dog. Rough or big dogs are no problem for me! I already have a few dogs I care for regularly, and a couple cats that I visit when the owners are away. I usually spend 30-60 min with them, feeding, cleaning, petting, and playing. I have experience doing minimal checkups (eyes & ears), and know tells for some of the most common problems. I work from home, and my schedule is very flexible! I'm available most days from 6am-9am, 11am-3pm and 7pm-12pm. I am very flexible, and can fit into most schedules almost every day of the week! I have experience wrestling big dogs and walking dogs that lunge. I found my scritches and pats are top notch and I can throw toys pretty far!
“Brianne is amazing! She’s so thorough and caring for my senior dog, leaves the best updates after visits, and is extremely communicative! Fully trust her with my special needs dog!”
“Leah was great! She treated our kitty, Sammie, so well, and went over and above, giving time not just for feeding but fun time and play time. She sent us great pictures too. Cannot recommend Leah highly enough. She is our forever pet sitter! 😸”

“Sydney was great with our girl Scully! She was very attentive, responsive, and we could tell how much she cared! The pictures she sent were always adorable and we appreciated the time that she spent with Scully each visit. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Ari was very attentive and communicative during her visits. I have two cats, one with asthma who requires an inhaler. Unfortunately he does not like strangers and does not like to get his inhaler from people other than family. Ari did her best to try to give him his inhaler each day. She was patient and caring despite the challenges. Overall, she took great care of both kitties! Thanks again, Ari!”

“Nedia is absolutely amazing. My pup loves her so much and they had such a great time together. She is so sweet and considerate and I feel so good knowing she’s checking in and hanging out with him! The absolute best!! If you’re looking for someone to book she is the one!!! 🤍”

About: Hello! I'm Valentina! I have experience caring for pets of different ages and needs, including my 10 year old cat and my sister’s 4 year old dog. Most recently, I cared for a Giant Schnauzer puppy right through his crazy growth spurt, from the day he came home at 3 months old all the way until he was 7 months old! Working with a high energy, big pup takes a lot of patience, consistency, and structure, so I kept him on a solid daily routine with twice a day walks to burn off that puppy energy and practice good leash manners. I’m also a very active person and genuinely enjoy being outdoors, walking, and staying on the move, so I love being able to bring that energy and enthusiasm into caring for pets. I have a flexible schedule and I’m generally available for walks and drop-in visits in the morning from 7:30 to 9:30 AM and in the afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. I’m happy to be flexible and work around your pet’s routine whenever possible. A little advance notice is always appreciated so I can plan my day and make sure I can give your pup the time, care, and attention they deserve. I love caring for pets in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable and stick to their familiar routine. I find that pets tend to feel more relaxed and at ease in their own space, especially when their owners are away. I’m happy to follow their normal routine, whether that includes feeding, walks, playtime, or any special instructions, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Strathmeade Springs
Gianna was very kind and patient with my little rescue, who can be quite anxious and complicated to look after. She sent me updates and pictures during each visit, which made being away from her much less stressful. I really appreciate her effort and would confidently recommend her to any pet owner.

Alexis did such an amazing job with my senior cat, Cayenne. She gave amazing Rover reports/photos and she was able to administer fluids for my cat. He is 19 years old and needs a lot of gentle care and attention. Going out of town is generally very stressful for us to leave Cayenne at home, but he clearly loved her!! I will 100% be using her again if we go out of town.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
