“Shelby is great!! She is communicative and lets us know all the details of her visit with our baby. We also love the pictures - never can get enough! We highly recommend Shelby!”

“Trent did a great job taking care of my two cats with just a couple of days notice. He was very easy to work with, easy to communicate with, and is obviously a pet lover. Would definitely work with him again.”

About: With over 75 dogs under my care, past and present, I bring unparalleled expertise and heartfelt dedication to every pet care assignment. My extensive experience spans all sizes, ages, backgrounds, and needs of dogs, ensuring your furry friend receives not just care, but genuine companionship and understanding. From fostering German Shepherds to volunteering at local shelters, I've honed my skills in nurturing pets through transitions. Each visit isn't just a task—it's an opportunity to forge a bond and tailor care to your pet's unique needs, leaving them wagging their tail with joy. I am a freelancer/contractor so I have plenty of time to fit time with your pups into my day. It's an excellent break for me and I look forward to every visit! As a provider of walks and check-ins I will meet with you and your dog the first time to establish a relationship and acclimate with your dog while making sure this is a relationship that works for everyone. After that we can work together to make the most of my time with your pup regardless of the service provided.

“Maura was fantastic. I have never hired a pet sitter before, but I'm certainly glad that I chose to have Maura watch my two cats while I was traveling overseas. Maura went out of her way to put my mind at ease by ensuring I received daily updates on the status of not just my two cats, but also of my home. Maura was incredibly attentive to the needs of my pets and addressed any discrepancies related to the safety and security of my home while I was away. Maura also took the time to water my house plants, ensuring that they survived my long absence. I am more than satisfied with the level of service I received. Thanks again for all your help, Maura!”

“Absolutely fantastic Petsit!! Seth took care of my pup recovering from surgery on 3 legs. He asked the right questions and was genuinely interested in the comfort and care of our little boy!! Very thankful and I will be booking him again!”

“Bianca and Charles were amazing pet sitters, and took great care of my cat. They provided great communication and were incredibly flexible. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for someone to take care of your furry loved ones! 🐱”

“Sierra house sat for us and was respectful to our house, kept my plants alive (maybe better than I can), and most imporantly took great care of our cats. She was in very good communication with us if our cats needed anything and I felt very comfortable knowing she was watching our house and pets. We will contact her first if we ever need house sitting/pet watching again”
“Jennifer took great care of my cat when I’m on trip! She’s super easy to talk to, and always send tons of cute pictures that I’m assured my cat was very happy with her :)) 10/10 recommend 🌟”

“Michael did a great job looking after our dogs and cats. We were gone for two weeks and he was very reliable and responsive the whole time. We were confident everyone was very well taken care of and didn’t have to worry about them while we were away. We will definitely ask Michael to watch everyone again in the future!”

“Great communication and Asia was able to balance my super clingy/needy cat while also drawing my shy cat out of her shell. By the end of the week both cars were running up for cuddles when they heard her come in. Have already rebooked with Asia for our next trip.”

About: I have almost 30 years of experience taking care of pets, from mostly dogs, to gerbils, to fish, to rabbits, and even cats. It all started by taking care of my aunt and uncle's dog and cat while they were away. I also helped my cousins with their rabbits when we were younger. Over the years, my family had many goldfish (won from fairs or carnivals), two gerbils, and a black lab who lived almost 14 years. In college, one of my roommates got a rabbit that we all worked together to take care of as well. Now, I mainly help family and friends with their pets while they're away, but I would love to branch out. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them in the backyard (or inside a house if it's allowed). I'm looking to try this out as a side gig and possibly turn it into more, so I am dedicated to find time that meets your schedule. Since I live in an apartment, I am unable to take care of any pets (not already listed on my lease) in my home. However, I am willing to come to your house and will make sure to lock any doors used and make sure everything is cleaned up as much as possible before leaving.

About: I started caring for dogs in 2017 when my family welcomed our first dog into our home. Since then, I’ve gained experience caring for my neighbors’ and friends’ dogs, providing them with attention, companionship, walks, and loving care. In 2024, I welcomed my own dog, Milo, a mini Goldendoodle who has helped me grow even more as a pet owner. I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and care I give my own. Taking care of pets is already a part of my everyday life with my dog Milo. I enjoy going on walks, playing, and making sure he feels happy and cared for. I love creating a safe and loving environment for pets, and I’m excited to bring that same care and attention to your furry family member. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I like to follow their normal routine, whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just giving them some extra attention and company. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I treat every dog like I would treat my own dog, Milo. I’m also happy to send updates and pictures so you can feel reassured that your pet is having a great time while you’re away.
“I was so nervous to leave my kittens for the first time, but Kate immediately made me feel at ease. She was so professional and kind! She took amazing care of my kittens- I am so grateful! Thank you so much, Kate!!”

“Beca is AWESOME! Not only did she take great care of my furbaby but her communications with me were fantastic! She went above and beyond during her visits to ensure my girl was at ease, well cared for, and happy. I could not have asked for a better sitter!!!”

“Andrew was excellent with our high energy 2-year-old pup! His calming presence was the perfect match for Abe, and we had a happy dog upon returning home. Will book again!”

“The girls loved Sophia! She was amazing with my dog who’s nervous of strangers, and warmed up to her quickly, which is rare! Thanks to Sophia, we had an incredible, worry-free day, knowing our pets were in good hands! Thank you Sophia!”

“Bethany was lovely and made our cat feel very loved and cared for! I've had times coming home when my cat was just desperate for human contact, but while he was definitely happy to see me, he wasn't as desperate and clingy as he's been before, so I know he was getting some extra attention. Bethany even brought our mail in when we had a late flight, which made a 2am arrival that much easier.”

“Katrina was super great with our newly adopted cat. She was reliable and consistent with visits and provided much appreciated updates on our fur baby. Would definitely book again.”

About: I have grown up with dogs since I was young. I have volunteered at Pet Rescue centers and I have dog walked and was a sitter for many people in my community. I want to become more active and dog walking will help. I love to play fetch, walk dogs and if they are down to cuddle we can do that too! I’m a huge Dog Lover and I will do my best to give your dog a fun and enjoyable time. I am pretty flexible in the evenings every day and I will be available during most weekends. This is something I love to do so please feel free to contact me and I would love to meet you and your furry friend! I’m currently pretty flexible with my schedule. I work part-time from home and I have a morning routine but fairly flexible schedule during the daytime. I enjoy dog walking in the safer areas within the city with plenty of space for each of the dogs to roam, explore and play.

“Megan was prompt and easy to work with, did everything I asked her to, and provided messages about my cats and pictures of them with each visit. Having Megan cat sit for me was my first rover experience, and there's nothing more I could have asked for. I highly recommend booking with Megan if you're looking for a cat sitter.”

Katrina was awesome! She left me great messages and photos. Even though my cat was so skittish, he never really came out for her, she's still trying to get a picture of him every time so I could see him.. She cleaned up everything when he decided he was going to make a mess. I would highly recommend her and I will use her again.

Josh was great! He was able to keep my cat Tommy well fed and entertained on a consistent basis while I was away. I appreciate his willingness to take care of him for almost a months I would definitely recommend him and hope to book him again in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
