“Nadia enjoyed her visits with Katrina! Katrina was very attentive to Nadia and spent time during each drop in visit to make sure Nadia received adequate care and attention. Katrina is gentle and her attention to detail put us at ease that our baby was being well cared for. We will definitely book with Katrina again! We highly recommend her services!”

“Ayme made our first experience with Rover a great one. She was very communicative and took great care of our cat while we were away. We loved getting pictures each day and seeing him happy in Ayme’s care. We highly recommend Ayme!”

“As always Nicole goes above and beyond to make sure my puppy is taken care of. She’s always offering to do extra things to help me out and I feel so relieved knowing that my dog is in good hands when I’m away!”

“Janet really came through for us on our two week vacation. She did an excellent job in all respects. The cat was in great shape and spirits when we returned. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 12! I used to work at a small business where dogs would get dropped off while their owners are on vacation. I actively walk dogs/ pet sit in the Fairfax County area! I am currently a student at NOVA so I am very available! I work my schedule around the animal and their needs, so whatever you need I can help with! I have three dogs of my own and I love them to pieces! I enjoy playing with them in the backyard and taking them on walks, or just hanging around with them.
“Andrew was excellent with our high energy 2-year-old pup! His calming presence was the perfect match for Abe, and we had a happy dog upon returning home. Will book again!”

I am a freelancer/contractor so I have plenty of time to fit time with your pups into my day. It's an excellent break for me and I look forward to every visit! As a provider of walks and check-ins I will meet with you and your dog the first time to establish a relationship and acclimate with your dog while making sure this is a relationship that works for everyone. After that we can work together to make the most of my time with your pup regardless of the service provided.
“Trent did a great job taking care of my two cats with just a couple of days notice. He was very easy to work with, easy to communicate with, and is obviously a pet lover. Would definitely work with him again.”

“Melissa has provided outstanding care to our miniature dachshund Charlie. After my initial outreach to Melissa, her communication was excellent and we could tell immediately that Charlie would be comfortable with her even though he is sometimes apprehensive about people he hasn’t met. For over a month, Melissa has provided reliable daily care for Charlie which has given our family peace of mind during a time of transition. With both my wife and then me being off work for almost a year on parental leave, we were concerned Charlie would be spiteful of our return to both working. Melissa’s excellent care, attention to Charlie and reliability clearly helped Charlie settle into our new routine. We give Melissa our highest recommendation and are grateful for her care!”

“Shelby did a wonderful job sitting for my two cats while I was out of town! She ensured they were fed, watered and overall well. She played with them and hung out with them to give them some companionship while I was away. Her communication and follow up is excellent. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a cat sitter!”

“Bianca and Charles were amazing pet sitters, and took great care of my cat. They provided great communication and were incredibly flexible. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for someone to take care of your furry loved ones! 🐱”

“Marjorie was so easy and helpful to work with! We appreciated all of the photos and updates on our kitty as well as being able to accommodate my last minute change of dates! Thank you so much Marjorie! We’ll be booking again in the future. :)”

“Wow! Alejandra went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you so much for taking care of my girls! And for keeping up with my super long messages of instructions haha. Will definitely book again in the future :)”

Josh was great! He was able to keep my cat Tommy well fed and entertained on a consistent basis while I was away. I appreciate his willingness to take care of him for almost a months I would definitely recommend him and hope to book him again in the future.

Ni did a great job watching our cat while we were away for two weeks. She was very diligent about providing many pictures daily showing her completing each activity that we asked her to do, much more so than other cat sitters we have used in the past. Our cat is older and requires some specialized care, including a couple medications and cleaning up frequent messes she makes, having more difficulty than younger cats with her daily activities. Ni did everything she needed too well and diligently. We would definitely use her again and recommend her to others.

Many thanks, Samantha! So grateful we connected here. She’s been so good to and with my dog. He’s a grumpy old guy but she’s won him over :). She’s been great at keeping us in the loop with updates and pics, responsive to what he’s in the mood for (eg walk v hanging in the yard) and keeping an eye on how he’s doing. Really appreciate her working us into her schedule as we quickly became one of her regular clients. Highly recommend Samantha!

Michael did a great job looking after our dogs and cats. We were gone for two weeks and he was very reliable and responsive the whole time. We were confident everyone was very well taken care of and didn’t have to worry about them while we were away. We will definitely ask Michael to watch everyone again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
