“Cassie has been very caring and communicative. She came the day before to meet our dog and ensure Roxy was comfortable with her. She gave us extra details on the walk and Roxy's well-being. Very much appreciated. Thank you.”

““Reliable, caring, and punctual!” Kimara has been walking Coco weekly and has been absolutely wonderful. She’s always on time, gives updates promptly, and genuinely cares for Coco. I can trust her completely and appreciate her consistency and professionalism. Highly recommended!”

“Let me tell you about Cleo’s best friend Monique!!!! I went on a last minute trip and had to leave Cleo behind for the first time. I was SO anxious and felt super guilty about leaving her alone. Monique was very diligent about showing up, sending reports, and following my tedious instructions about leaving the TV on/moving our coffee table for our roomba lol. I felt like she actually wanted to be there and love on Cleo. Cleo loves tug of war and Monique would play with her literally every time she visited and made sure she got her treat’o’s. I’m glad I don’t have to go through the trial and error process of finding our go to dog sitter for Cleo! I’ll be contacting her very soon for their next play date.”

“Samantha was so great with my parents’ old, sweet dog we were babysitting. My parents’ dog is used to being around her humans all day long and with my husband and I out of the house for long hours while we’re at work we’re really stressing her out. Samantha’s walks really helped to keep our dog happy and relaxed. Would highly recommend Samantha to anyone for your pet needs!”

About: My husband and I have taken care of our friend’s teddy, Pomeranian, Rottweiler and Labrador retriever, Friends have relied on us to walk, feed, and board their pets when they are at school, at work, on vacation or when they had to deal with emergency situations. I’m currently working on a hybrid schedule where I work from home on Mondays and also I have Fridays off as well meaning I am able to pet sit from Friday to Monday night! We have a fenced back yard, and a very large grassed park area behind our townhome. My husband and I loveeee going for walks, would be thrilled to take your furry out to explore some new smells near our home. Happy to provide updates with photos through out the day.

“Brianna is a great dog walker!! She is very quick to respond to messages and took the lead organizating the meet and greet. She was available on pretty short notice, which was such a relief. Brianna was immediately comfortable with my 150lb dog, which means she is comfortable with any dog! She is a great dog walker and I will be using her regularly!”

“Thanks for helping us out with walking Riley and Archie this week! Really appreciated the time you spent with Riley too to get her comfortable with you. Will be sure to reach out in the future!”

About: I have nearly 2 years of experience as a kennel assistant at a Hayfield Animal Hospital caring for dogs, cats, and exotics of all sizes and personalities. I also was a part of the Edison Academy veterinary science class where we provided grooming services to clients. I’ve taken care of my own dog for 8 years and have pet sat for family and friends. I’m reliable, patient, and focused on making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I also helped train my dog as a puppy and have experience administering medications to pets at my work and will be getting experience as a veterinary assistant this summer. I currently work part-time as a kennel assistant, so caring for animals is already a big part of my daily life! I’m available most weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to make time to stop by and care for your pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I’ll make sure they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own by making sure they feel comfortable and loved while their owner is away. As a pre-vet student at Virginia Tech, my passion for animals runs deep. Just as I do with my own dog, in a client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of attention and companionship. I also make sure pets have a clean, stress-free environment and would love to keep owners updated with messages and photos!
About: Hi! My name is Manu and I truly love animals. I have had pets for most of my life, and I also have 5 years of experience caring for other people’s pets, which has helped me understand different routines, personalities, and needs. Taking care of pets is not just a job for me, it’s something that genuinely makes me happy. I love watching them grow, play, go on walks, and socialize. I enjoy spending time with them, taking them on walks, playing, making sure they eat well, and ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved at all times. I am very patient, caring, responsible, and detail-oriented. I understand that every pet is unique, so I adapt to their habits, energy level, and specific needs to provide personalized care. You can feel confident knowing I will treat your pet as if they were part of my own family. My priority is to make them feel comfortable, safe, cared for, and loved while they are with me. I would be honored to take care of your furry friend and give them all the love, attention, and fun they deserve.☺️ Pet care fits very well into my daily and weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule through my cleaning work, which allows me to organize my day around the pets’ needs. If required, I can adjust my full day to focus on caring for the pets, ensuring they receive the attention, walks, feeding, and companionship they deserve. My flexible availability allows me to be reliable, attentive, and present, whether it’s for drop-in visits, walks, or extended care. I always prioritize the pet’s well-being, safety, and happiness, treating them with love and patience as if they were my own. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow their usual schedule, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I keep their environment clean, calm, and comfortable so they feel secure in their familiar space. I also give them plenty of attention, affection, and companionship so they never feel lonely while their owner is away. When caring for pets in my home, I create a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment where they can feel relaxed and loved. I supervise them closely, maintain their feeding schedule, provide playtime, and ensure they get enough exercise, rest, and attention. I also provide updates, photos, and communication to keep owners reassured and informed about their pet’s well-being.
“Nicole is absolutely amazing! My fiancé and I were very worried about trying to find care for our dog Whiskey. He has a lot of anxiety around new people and some medical issues as well. Nicole has gone above and beyond for Whiskey. Nicole spent over hour with him on their first walk, so that Whiskey could get accustomed to her at his own pace. Of course, now they are best friends and Whiskey always looks forward to his walk with Nicole. This past week Whiskey was very sick, and Nicole was able to utilize her years of veterinary experience to assess him and ensure that he was okay to make it until I got home from work. Nicole is incredibly kind, outgoing, and reliable. She is incredibly sweet, caring, and attentive to Whiskey and his needs. My fiancé, and I truly could not have found a better person to walk and care for our dog. Thank you so much, Nicole! 🤍”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 8. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets. I had my childhood dog for 14 years, and have since then gotten another dog. I have experience training puppies and taking care of older dogs and their needs. Flexible schedule which allows me plenty of time to take care of your pups. I am available for walking dogs and for drop-in visits Monday- Sunday from 8am-9pm. When walking dogs I avoid any heavily trafficked areas and am able to take dogs to different locations to walk/hike if needed (beach, dog park, etc.) I have my own dog who loves interacting with others that I can bring to walk with your dog if they want company.
About: I’ve taken care of family dogs almost my whole life. I’ve been trusted to walk, feed and play with them. I am not a professional trainer but can adapt to help with the process! I’m currently a student at college but since I am mainly online I usually can be pretty flexible! I can do walks mostly on an as needed basis I will not be doing in home care but overall I will be making sure leashes are snug on and all doors closed within reach of the pet.

“We have been using Maura for daily visits for a long time now. We can always count on her (even to show up in a pinch), she treats our doggies very well, and is always very caring. We are very lucky we found her!”
About: I've cared for friends' fur babies throughout my teen and adult years. I also grew up with dogs. I was tasked with walking, feeding, and watering our black Labrador, Blackjack, until he passed back in November 2012. I know every dog needs at least two walks. I want work-life balance, so I am available on weekdays afternoons and evenings, plus weekends, as long as it's scheduled at least three days before. While in my client's home, I'll send daily photos and videos of their fur babies so they don't need to worry or miss their dogs. I'll also be sure to leave the home almost exactly as I found it.
“Alejandra was incredibly responsive and really helped us out in a pinch, doing more than was originally asked of her. Grateful to have found her and will continue to use her services!”

“Janet is amazing! My dog loves her and gets so excited when he sees her coming. She is very punctual, flexible, and kind to both myself and my dog. She has a smile and great attitude and she’s been a blessing to have around. Would hire her again and again!!’”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bristow
Steve is the best. Our slightly special needs rescue needs a gentle but confident hand, and Steve is great with him. He makes sure our old boy gets his medication and food (which he can be quite uncooperative about) and he always takes him on the best walks. We’ve used Steve for boarding and drop-in visits/walks in our home. We know we can trust that he’ll take care of Riley just like we would (or maybe even better!) He’s reliable, communicative, and always sends great pictures, so you’ll always know how well things are going with your furbaby while you’re away!

This was my first experience using Rover, and I couldn’t be happier. Cassie was amazing, and I sincerely hope she is always available to walk/board my Labrador when I need her. From our first meeting I could tell she genuinely loves dogs. She is trustworthy, reliable, provides timely communication and was a joy to work with. Rover is very lucky to have her on their team.

I booked Julia for reoccurring walks with my dog, a senior husky. She was very patient with my pup and made sure she was well taken care. Julia listened to all my notes and concerns with my dog and made me feel comfortable with entrusting her to take care of her. I definitely recommend Julia to look after your dog too!

Sophie is responsive to requests and communicated very well. She was accommodating for a kind of last minute request and also let me know how things went afterward. I was happy she was available to give my pup a midday trip outside and some nice attention too. She listened to everything I shared about Elli and her habits & was very comfortable. Thanks, Sophie!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
