“Giang helped my anxious pups feel at ease right away! She's clearly an animal lover and they warmed up quickly with her. She's also a fantastic communicator - very prompt and clear. Highly recommend and so grateful to have found her as someone trustworthy that both me and my pups can rely on.”

“Lei was great with Korra! She was very good with her and took her for a nice long walk, which she needs as an Aussie! Korra had a good time and is nice and tired now. Thanks!”

“It’s my first time with rover and Alison was super attentive! My building is incredibly hard to get to and get into, also my pup isn’t easy to deal with when putting on shoes for her walk but she did absolutely excellent with my Maple. Maple looks incredibly happy and absolutely loved Alison! Looking forward working with her more in the future! 100/10 would recommend!”

“Molly did a great job walking/visiting our goldendoodle this week! She was really responsive, left great messages and photos, and gave our pup the love and attention she needed. We will book her again!”

About: [NOTE: I was active on Rover before the star system was employed, so I have reviews, but no stars yet as I jump back in!] I'm Tom, based in Falls Church near the National Cemetery. I work from home as a consultant with a lot of flexibility during the week, so weekday middays are actually open rather than squeezed around something else. I'm looking after all kinds of dogs, from easy ones who just want their loop around the block to dogs who need a little more thought. My own dog is Buddy, a 70lb pittie who was very reactive towards people and animals. I've also fostered for Lost Dog and AARF in Baltimore, which meant a steady rotation of dogs showing up with almost no history, so you learn to read a dog quickly and adjust rather than run everyone through the same routine. Some of those fosters were reactive, on leash with other dogs or with strangers approaching, and a few were both. It's an area I am familiar with and I'm glad to take those dogs on. It also just made me a better walker generally. I pay attention to the small stuff, the ears and the pause, and I'd rather pick a calm route your dog actually enjoys than a scenic one that leaves them wound up. If your dog does better in a particular harness or with a specific setup, tell me and I'll use it! I used to pet sit here on Rover, and these days I stick to weekday walks and drop-ins close to home so I'm never rushing between neighborhoods. I've got a car, so rain doesn't change anything and I can get to a vet fast if I ever need to. I ask for a meet and greet for reactive dogs before every first booking. I want to meet your dog on their turf with you there, and hear how you read them, since nobody knows them better than you do! Non-reactive dogs can have a meet and greet too, but it isn't mandatory. Available weekdays, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Would love to hear about your dog! I'm currently off-season for my job, so I can reliably be scheduled from 9AM to 3PM (so I can do daycare pickup)! I have lots of flexibility this time of year. Happy to be a recurring friend! I follow whatever routine you set. Tell me where the leash and treats live, how you want the door handled, and any quirks I should know about, and I'll stick to it exactly. I leash up before opening the door, check the collar or harness fits properly, and confirm the door is locked behind me on the way out. Keys or codes stay with me and aren't shared. If anything seems off with your dog, you'll hear from me right away.

About: I’ve grown up with having pets, whether it was from a pet guinea pig to a dog. I know it takes time a lot of patience and responsibility to care for them. I’m currently working part-time as a pharmacy technician. I’m available mornings, Saturday after 6pm and Sundays any time of day. Gladly here to help. I have a cat at home who loves to eat and cuddle. I give him different diets to suit his needs and insure that he’s in a healthy and good environment.
“Sarah was amazing as a dog walker for my pups! She was very responsive, came exactly on time for the walk, and was clearly so sweet and loving with both of my dogs! One of my pups is quite shy and Sarah spent extra time with her to get her comfortable before the walk which was above and beyond amazing. Will absolutely book with her again in the future!”

“Trent is absolutely wonderful. He made going away for a weekend without our two large dogs stress free. Trent gave us detailed messages about how each of their walks went, followed all of our guidelines and it was easy to tell our dogs trusted him and enjoyed his company. He handled our reactive 80lbs dog with grace and ease. We would recommend him to anybody! One of the most reliable and easy experiences we’ve had with someone else caring for our pups. 10/10 would recommend!”

About: I absolutely love dogs and have experience looking after my sister's corgi from when he was a puppy to his 7-year old self now! I have also cared for friends’ dogs and cats, and will treat your pet with the same love I would treat my own! I was on Rover back in undergrad, then went to grad school so I took a break but would love to get back into it- please consider me for your pet care needs! I am currently on the hunt for a full-time job so I have plenty of time during the day as I have no set schedule. I live in a single home with a fenced yard and plenty of backyard space! I am alert and attentive to pets’ needs whether they are in a space that’s familiar to them or not.
About: The most important thing for me as a pet sitter/dog walker is their safety and wellbeing. That is that when I walk them I keep them safe. Before I had a dog of my own, I volunteered at a pet shelter and there I have helped people adopt dogs. I have done training on dog walking safety at the shelter, as well as basic clicker training. I have also taken numerous dog training classes with my own dog. I work at home so I have flexibility and can go to your home to pet sit or walk your dog as needed at any time. I will treat your dog like my own and always have their safety and well being in mind. I can send you updates for your dog and follow any instructions you may have.
About: Hi, I'm Catie Worley and I am currently a college kid working for wag so I can make some extra cash since moving back from my year abroad in Scotland! I grew up with dogs which has made this job loads of fun and easy going (: I'm always available before during and after the service for any questions you may have. Also feel free to reach out about other services as well as I've been doing dog walking for over 5 years now. I try and incorporate being around furry friends through my life because for me they make my life so much more enjoyable. Weather I’m working from home that day or taking classes online, caring for your pet has always made me very happy. I will always treat a clients home with the up most respect as this is all about creating healthy and trustworthy relationships with your clients.

Ozgenur took very good care of my dog Grace for almost 10 straight days while I was traveling…. She was always on time, and gave her very good walks and exercise. I was very pleased with Ozgenur’s work and would gladly have her take care of Grace again. Highly recommend her as a dog walker and caretaker for your Pet(s). Thank you Ozgenur!!

Lindsay is terrific. She’s everything I want for my dog. She’s a good communicator and has always been on time. She’s very good with my pup— can tell she has lots of experience with dogs. And she genuinely enjoys my guy, who’s very goofy and idiosyncratic. I’m very happy to be working with her.

Giang helped my anxious pups feel at ease right away! She's clearly an animal lover and they warmed up quickly with her. She's also a fantastic communicator - very prompt and clear. Highly recommend and so grateful to have found her as someone trustworthy that both me and my pups can rely on.

I ended up in a last minute bind and reached out to Sierra to provide 2 dog walks for me the following day. She responded quickly, worked with my time frame, and had great communication. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby and being available last minute!!! Will certainly reach out if i need care again
Lucy was an amazing walker! She took our foster dog DD on some fun walks and DD loved her. She came on time (or early! ) which DD was very happy about. And she put out her food after. Was quiet not to wake our family who is still asleep at 6:30am. :) We’d love for her to walk for us again!

As always Han was great with Baxter, our 80 pound bernedoodle who is not great on a leash. She did his morning walk every day for two weeks was very communicative and responsive. She provided comments in his Rover card about how it went, which was both informative and entertaining. Highly recommend her!

It's been so wonderful having Ruby walk my pup. I'm very protective over him and she has done a great job putting me at ease. She's always on time and responsive which is a huge deal for me. She handles all his crazy golden energy in stride. Highly recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
