“Jen is terrific with our dog. He loves spending time with her and getting his exercise :-) Communication with Jen is clear and consistent, and she's always been on time. Already re-booked her time.”

“I was impressed with Daniel right from the start! He is a very humble, respectful, responsible, kind young man who loves animals. My dog Sophie immediately took to him and she would have great walks with him. I asked a lot from Daniel when I went on holiday…and he delivered! He came to my home for 10 days to not only walk my dog but also feed her…give her medicine, and as a bonus, he played with her. Socializing w Sophie went a long way because she was alone most of the time. He would always be on time and, when another dog walker canceled, he quickly covered that shift. No questions or higher charge. He sent a lot of photos too. Since I’ve been back from my holiday, I’ve been in poor health. I texted Daniel and he is now my dog walker on days when I’m unable to take Sophie out myself. Again, punctual & always thinking about what’s best for my dog…. For example, He remembers to dry Sophie’s paws when they arrive from a walk in the snow or rain. I highly recommend Daniel as your dog walker or sitter.”

“Juan walked our dog on short notice and was able to handle him jumping and barking without any issue. We really appreciate his friendliness and responsiveness.”

About: I have pet sit for friends and neighbors for years, with dogs of all different shapes, sizes, and needs. I've walked dogs, checked in, or spent the night. I'm an avid animal lover and love meeting and spending time with new dogs! I'm a college student home for the summer with lots of flexibility in my schedule. Even though I'm a college student early mornings are fine with me, I'm happy to be with your dog any time of the day. I'm adaptable to whatever rules and established routines you have in your home. I don't mind getting up early and I'm an avid walker so I'm happy to get outside any time.
“Isabelle walks my goldendoodle furchild every day and she’s such an important part of Maya’s life. To start, she’s super communicative and reliable, which makes it really easy to plan and coordinate walks and dogcare with her. She was also great about learning what behaviors we try to reinforce, Maya’s habits and routines and what Maya eats, which gives me the warm and fuzzies that as a parent, aunt Isabelle is staying consistent with dad’s rules. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. Yep Isabelle is a wonderful dog “auntie” and just a delightful human being. I don’t know what her advertised rates are on here, but you should pay them and then some. Isabelle, get after it girl. Charge people what you’re worth! ?”

I have one dog in home named Biscuit (8yr old male cavapoo) I also take care of cats!! I work in pastry so I am up early (3/4am) and am home by 2pm every day! My days off vary each week- just feel free to reach out to me and let me know what you're looking for! I have one very friendly dog in home, he is fully crate trained and can be kept in a separate room if needed! I live just a few blocks from the swampoodle dog park so we can always walk and play there! :) I have plenty of dog toys, food/water bowls, etc in home if needed as well
“We had a great experience with Lexy and Robert! They came by to do a meet and greet first and we felt really comfortable with them walking Motu. They were so communicative and left great write-ups post walk.”

About: I’ve taken care of a multitude of different dogs and cats throughout my life - whether it be for friends, neighbors, family, or even coworkers! I have lots of experience in cat care - including grooming, nail trimming, and oral medications. I have 3 cats of my own, so I’m very adaptive to all sorts of cat personalities! My experience with dog care is just as plentiful! I’ve taken many on fun walks, played fetch, groomed fur, and dispensed oral medication. I’m rather good when it comes to pulling on leashes, and I also have experience training young puppies. I’m available at all times during the week! Whether you’re looking for someone to check in on your pup to feed, give bathroom breaks, groom, or play with, I’m available morning, afternoon and evening! The same applies to kitty owners! I always make sure all fenced in homes are securely locked in the event a dog wants to play outside. All leashes and collars will be checked before walks, and if your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs I will be sure to maintain a safe space between myself and other owners. As for cats, I always make sure that all doors are quickly closed and closed all the way to prevent any indoor kitties from escaping. If your cat is outdoor/indoor, I’ll make sure they get back inside safe and sound!
“Mike was fantastic! This was our first time using a walker for our dog and he not only made the process very easy but extremely comfortable for us. He even came and met us and our dog before we completed the booking. He was very communicative the entire time we were away and it was a huge relief to know our beloved pet was in good hands! We look forward to booking with Mike again in the future.”

“Sophie has been excellent and our dog absolutely loves her! She is kind and considerate and we know our dog is in good hands when Sophie comes over. Would totally recommend her as a dog walker to anyone!”
“Dominique is reliable, professional and kind. He arrives rain or shine with a smile. He walks our dog for the full time and our dog comes back safe and happy. Very pleased we found Dominique.”

About: Hi! I’m Cora, a student majoring in Food Science in Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I grew up in Arlington and will be staying here for the rest of the spring and summer. As a lifelong caretaker and lover of animals, I am really excited to join Rover and show some love to the pets here. I have always been obsessed with animals, and my experience in a variety of contexts makes me confident I can give your pet the best possible care while you’re away. I practically grew up in my local animal shelter, reading to rescue cats and waiving adoption fees through bake sales. As soon as I was old enough, I became an official volunteer, responsible for socializing animals, walking dogs, and adhering to the highest safety and sanitation standards. I became certified in rescue pet welfare through the Fear Free Shelter program, giving me the knowledge necessary to put shy dogs at ease. I also foster puppies through the Lost Dog Rescue foundation, giving me a firm grasp on the needs of younger dogs, from potty training to administering medication. Need a sitter for an exotic pet? No problem! In high school, I took a Career and Technical Education class in the advanced small animal sciences. I gained hands-on experience with countless pet species, from leopard geckos to chinchillas to cockatiels (and everything in between!) I also wrote a research report on the welfare of the school’s rabbits, taught the class cats how to high-five, and became certified in pet first aid through the National Association of Pets and Pet Sitters. Your pet is your family, and as a college student, I deeply understand what it means to be apart from them. Trust me to treat them with as much love, kindness, and respect as I show my own pets. I can’t wait to meet them! Aside from a few virtual appointments, I have a lot of flexibility throughout my day. Your pets would be my top priority - I’d love to go for long walks, play outside, and/or meet a new study buddy :) Safety is my top priority when it comes to pet-sitting. I am certified in Pet First Aid through the National Association of Pets and Pet Sitters. Additionally, through my volunteer position at the Animal Welfare League, I pursued extra coursework through the Fear Free Shelters program to learn about rescue pet welfare and animal psychology. Most recently, when my pair of 8-week-old foster puppies fell ill, I took them to the vet and learned how to administer various oral medications. I provided care at all hours of the day and night, successfully nursing them back to health. Beyond my qualifications, I've been described as exuding quiet confidence that puts animals and people at ease. I prioritize gentleness and kindness in all of my animal interactions; with your pets, I'd focus on minimizing stress because I know how attached pets and their humans are.
About: I've had pets for most of my life, but in recent years, I've been actively caring for my mother's cat whenever she travels, along with her two Chihuahua dogs. I even lived with them for a while. Pets bring me joy, and their companionship fills me with tenderness. I currently reside in Arlington and have ample time available to walk pets or care for them in their owners' homes, Monday through Friday. I am available between eleven in the morning and three in the afternoon. I'm available, preferably within the metro area, to take your pets for an enjoyable walk or, if needed, to visit them at home and spend quality time with them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
