“I was lucky to find Tasha, a new local dog walker in our town. She responds to messages quickly, is available for morning walks, friendly and, most importantly, punctual and reliable.”

About: I just love animals! I have worked for an animal advocacy organization and received ongoing education about the care of companion animals. I volunteered at Fairfax County Animal Shelter walking and showing dogs, and fostering dogs, cats, kittens, guinea pigs, rabbits and more. I know how to meet a pet where they need me to be, whether it's lots of snuggles or lots of personal space. I grew up in a house full of animals and I look forward to meeting you and your precious pet. I'm only in the office 2 days a week so I have good flexibility to take care of your treasured pet and look forward to meeting you both! I have a fenced in patio area for lounging outdoors and great walking paths with lots of things to sniff. I love playing fetch and teaching new tricks if you're up for it!

About: Coupon Code for your first booking with Rover :-) https://www.rover.com/sit/giangd59383 I’ve had the honor to grow up with dogs since I was 7. I currently live with and care for a senior 15-year old chihuahua mix and a gorgeous 2-year tabby cat. It’s been a beautiful journey to navigate life with an anxious dog and a curious feline family member. I’ve learned that patience, time, and compassion is key. I am excited for the opportunity to meet your pet and get to know them 🤗 I currently have the opportunity to take some time to think about what I want to do in the next chapter of my life! I have plenty of time on my hands to spend time with your dog and/or cat! I treat your pets and home with deep reverence and integrity. I have respect for all boundaries and unwavering patience that is necessary for you and your pet to feel safe and comfortable. Trust is important to me and is a key foundation for all of my relationships. Transparency & Communication are also part of my core values, I will not hesitate to let you know if anything comes up and am prepared to give you as many updates as requested.

About: I’ve grown up with having pets, whether it was from a pet guinea pig to a dog. I know it takes time a lot of patience and responsibility to care for them. I’m currently working part-time as a pharmacy technician. I’m available mornings, Saturday after 6pm and Sundays any time of day. Gladly here to help. I have a cat at home who loves to eat and cuddle. I give him different diets to suit his needs and insure that he’s in a healthy and good environment.
“Sarah was amazing as a dog walker for my pups! She was very responsive, came exactly on time for the walk, and was clearly so sweet and loving with both of my dogs! One of my pups is quite shy and Sarah spent extra time with her to get her comfortable before the walk which was above and beyond amazing. Will absolutely book with her again in the future!”

“Isabelle walks my goldendoodle furchild every day and she’s such an important part of Maya’s life. To start, she’s super communicative and reliable, which makes it really easy to plan and coordinate walks and dogcare with her. She was also great about learning what behaviors we try to reinforce, Maya’s habits and routines and what Maya eats, which gives me the warm and fuzzies that as a parent, aunt Isabelle is staying consistent with dad’s rules. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. Yep Isabelle is a wonderful dog “auntie” and just a delightful human being. I don’t know what her advertised rates are on here, but you should pay them and then some. Isabelle, get after it girl. Charge people what you’re worth! ?”

“I was impressed with Daniel right from the start! He is a very humble, respectful, responsible, kind young man who loves animals. My dog Sophie immediately took to him and she would have great walks with him. I asked a lot from Daniel when I went on holiday…and he delivered! He came to my home for 10 days to not only walk my dog but also feed her…give her medicine, and as a bonus, he played with her. Socializing w Sophie went a long way because she was alone most of the time. He would always be on time and, when another dog walker canceled, he quickly covered that shift. No questions or higher charge. He sent a lot of photos too. Since I’ve been back from my holiday, I’ve been in poor health. I texted Daniel and he is now my dog walker on days when I’m unable to take Sophie out myself. Again, punctual & always thinking about what’s best for my dog…. For example, He remembers to dry Sophie’s paws when they arrive from a walk in the snow or rain. I highly recommend Daniel as your dog walker or sitter.”

About: I absolutely love dogs and have experience looking after my sister's corgi from when he was a puppy to his 7-year old self now! I have also cared for friends’ dogs and cats, and will treat your pet with the same love I would treat my own! I was on Rover back in undergrad, then went to grad school so I took a break but would love to get back into it- please consider me for your pet care needs! I am currently on the hunt for a full-time job so I have plenty of time during the day as I have no set schedule. I live in a single home with a fenced yard and plenty of backyard space! I am alert and attentive to pets’ needs whether they are in a space that’s familiar to them or not.
“Juan is definitely an animal person and is very caring and thoughtful about his clients and their pets. He’s punctual and communicative. My dog looks forward to his visits!”

About: I had a small maltese-poodle mix for over 16 years who I personally trained, boarded dogs of a family friend, and walked rescue greyhounds and other rescues. I currently have pretty wide open availability with prior notice. I am allergic to cats so unfortunately cannot board cats, but am able to do drops-ins. I currently have a wide range of availability with prior notice while working a PRN job in healthcare with the elderly. Currently available for weekdays and weekends. I will follow any instructions given to a T while striving to maintain the routine your pet is accustomed to, while giving them plenty of scratches and belly rubs and cuddles :) I understand some rescues prefer less physical touch due to trust and comfort issues, and I will proceed with whatever level of touch your pet chooses to engage with me.
About: I have previous experience working in the Veterinary field. We have one well-loved senior beagle mix and two, sweet male kitties. I am skilled with medication administration with dogs and cats. I am a part-time preschool teacher, so I have time during the morning and afternoon to take care of your fur babies. I am available on the weekends as well. I have a fenced in backyard and a screened in porch for a little extra relaxation. I will offer plenty of treats, and fresh water for every visit is a must!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bel Air
It's been so wonderful having Ruby walk my pup. I'm very protective over him and she has done a great job putting me at ease. She's always on time and responsive which is a huge deal for me. She handles all his crazy golden energy in stride. Highly recommend her.
My Luna girl LOVED Makaylah and was comfortable with her from the get go- which doesn’t always happen as Luna has… big feels lol. Makaylah handled her well, gave her good exercise, and communicated well with me regarding walks (and her move 😔)Sad to see her move away, she is great!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
