“Helena is so kind and responsive. She watched Charlie for 8 days and sent us pics/videos of Charlie’s daily walks and of Charlie having fun with her little dog.We also truly appreciated that she only took care of one dog at a time, so Charlie’s bed came back clean and didn’t have other pet hair. I would absolutely entrust Helena with Charlie again for a long term stay.”

“Veronica took care of Oliver for 9-days while we were on vacation. She kept us posted with messages and pictures of Oliver practically daily. Oliver really enjoyed his stay and meeting new friends that he was a bit dull after returning home. I will use Veronica again and I highly recommend her.”

“Prisila took amazing care of our cats while we were away! She sent us daily updates so we could see how well they had taken to her house. When we picked them up, they were happy and not stressed out the way they were when we left them with just a pet sitter checking in on them daily. I highly recommend Prisila and would not hesitate to board our cats with her again.”

About: Over the past 20 years, I’ve had three dogs, a Pomeranian, an Akita, and a Yorkshire Terrier. Each one had a different personality, but they were all very attached to me. None of them went to a training school, but they were all well-behaved. I trained them myself before they turned one year old. I currently live in a clean, quiet, pet-free home. There are no pets living in the house at this time, so visiting dogs will not have to share the space with other animals or adjust to another pet’s presence or scent. I only accept small dogs up to 20 lbs and prefer low-shedding breeds. My home provides a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where dogs can feel safe and relaxed during their stay. I’m home most of the day, so your dog will rarely be left alone. Big park around the house. Like walk and play with dog. Small dogs need lots of attention and one-on-one care, which is why I only host one dog at a time. I follow each owner’s feeding routine and do not give dogs any human food. Small dogs can have sensitive stomachs, so I believe consistency is important. My goal is to provide a quiet, comfortable, clean, and healthy environment where every dog can feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
“Behice was absolute amazing with my fur baby Scotty! She was super flexible when I needed to change my pickup time and sent daily photo and video updates. Scotty loved her so much he didn’t want to leave :). Very highly recommend”

“Carlos took fantastic care of our dog Eddie! He was very communicative, sent lots of pictures and updates throughout Eddie's stay and also took Eddie on several walks a day. He really took great care of Eddie and it was really the best Rover stay Eddie has had yet! I could tell Eddie had a great time going on walks, playing with Carlos's dogs and I will definitely have Carlos watch him again in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bel Air
Mia and her dad,Hector were the best sitters for our (sometimes!) crazy puppy Malibu. It was our first time leaving on a week long trip without taking her, and Mia gave updates with pictures almost every day. I felt very relieved that we chose the right family to partner with. Everyone was very kind. We will definitely use them again in the future! Highly recommend! 🐾😊
Always a joy having Banjo stay with Kevin and his amazing family. They do such an amazing job taking care of him and communicating with us. Feels like he’s almost always sad to leave them! They do a great job with daily updates and photos, and lots of snuggles. Thanks Kevin and fam!
Carmen was, without question, the best dog sitter I could have asked for! My old pup can be quite the grumpy little guy, but she treated him with so much patience, kindness, and genuine affection. She took him on walks, sent wonderful pictures, and accompanied each update with beautifully written notes that made me smile every time. It was clear she wasn’t just looking after him, she genuinely cared about him. Finding someone you can trust with an aging, sometimes difficult dog means the world, and Carmen went above and beyond in every way. I couldn’t recommend her more highly, and I would absolutely trust her with my pup again!
Javier was amazing with our dog Brody! It was our first time using Rover and Javier made us feel at ease with multiple updates a day, videos, and photos. Brody loved the backyard and with every update from Javier, we felt more and more at ease that our Brody was being taken care of. Highly recommend Javier!

Rico loved spending the weekend with Gail and her pup. He actually didn’t want to leave! She was welcoming and flexible when our plans changed. She sent many pictures and updates which we really appreciated. We would highly recommend Gail and Rico can’t wait to go play again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Bel Air home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Bel Air.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Bel Air sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
