Some dogs want a brisk, purposeful walk; others need time to sniff and explore at their own pace. I follow the dog's lead. I know Falls Church well and plan routes that are safe, enjoyable, and appropriate for the dog's size and energy level. I always carry water for longer walks and keep dogs leashed and under close control at all times. For cat drop-in visits, I keep things calm and low-key. Cats are creatures of habit, so I stick closely to their established routine: feeding, fresh water, litter box, and a quick health check to make sure everything looks normal. If a cat wants affection and playtime I'm happy to provide it; if they'd rather keep their distance, I respect that too. Having lived with a cat myself, I know not to take it personally! I'll always send an update with a photo so you know the visit went smoothly. In a client's home, I treat the space with full respect: no disruptions to the pet's environment, doors and gates secured, and clear communication with the owner if anything seems off.

“Isabelle walks my goldendoodle furchild every day and she’s such an important part of Maya’s life. To start, she’s super communicative and reliable, which makes it really easy to plan and coordinate walks and dogcare with her. She was also great about learning what behaviors we try to reinforce, Maya’s habits and routines and what Maya eats, which gives me the warm and fuzzies that as a parent, aunt Isabelle is staying consistent with dad’s rules. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. Yep Isabelle is a wonderful dog “auntie” and just a delightful human being. I don’t know what her advertised rates are on here, but you should pay them and then some. Isabelle, get after it girl. About: Hi! I’m Katelyn, and I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. Growing up, my family always had a full house of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, fish, and even a lizard. We also bred show Cocker Spaniels, where I learned the fundamentals of animal care early on by helping to feed, clean, and train the puppies. In high school, I worked at a horse breeding ranch, gaining hands-on experience with halter and lead training. This taught me a great deal about reading animal body language, building trust, and handling large animals with calm, quiet confidence—skills that translate perfectly to walking and managing dogs of all sizes. As an adult, I adopted my own dog, Karma, who had been abandoned on the street. Because of her background, she came to me with significant fears of men and other dogs. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I successfully socialized and trained her from scratch. She blossomed into a wonderful, confident, and loving companion who stayed by my side for 12 beautiful years before passing away in 2022. While I still miss having a pup of my own, my heart is ready to share my love, patience, and expertise with new furry friends. I am currently living in Arlington, VA, and am immediately available to help care for your beloved cats and dogs. Pet care is a top priority in my daily routine, not an afterthought. Because I currently have a highly flexible schedule, I am readily available for mid-day dog walks, morning or evening drop-in visits, and weekend care. About: I had a small maltese-poodle mix for over 16 years who I personally trained, boarded dogs of a family friend, and walked rescue greyhounds and other rescues. I currently have pretty wide open availability with prior notice. I am allergic to cats so unfortunately cannot board cats, but am able to do drops-ins. I currently have a wide range of availability with prior notice while working a PRN job in healthcare with the elderly. Currently available for weekdays and weekends. I will follow any instructions given to a T while striving to maintain the routine your pet is accustomed to, while giving them plenty of scratches and belly rubs and cuddles :) I understand some rescues prefer less physical touch due to trust and comfort issues, and I will proceed with whatever level of touch your pet chooses to engage with me.

I also became a late-life cat lover after unexpectedly adopting a cat in college so I’m happy caring for both pups and kitties. Spending time with animals is one of my favorite things, and I’ll always make sure they get their treats, walks, and plenty of pets. I work from home, which means if I’m hosting your fur buddy at my place, I can provide multiple walks throughout the day. If you prefer in-home care, I’m also happy to stop by your place for midday weekday visits. I’m weekend availability is also flexible for in-home care or hosting! I don’t currently have pets of my own, so your dog/cat will have my full attention. I live in a house with a yard and nearby walking trails, providing a safe and comfortable environment.
