“Zosha did an excellent job! He was on time… even for the early morning walks. He walked Bella twice per day for 4 days. Bella was waiting at the door for him and was happy to see Zosha. He had good “command” of Bella and at the same time was playful and affectionate. I highly recommend Zosha and will contact him the next time we need a dog walker.”

About: I've been a dog lover and owner my entire life. Over the years, I've cared for a Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, Chocolate Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, and Goldendoodle, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I've also been the trusted pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors for many years. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, exploring outdoors, or simply relaxing with plenty of attention, I'll make sure they receive the care, exercise, and affection they deserve. I understand that every dog is unique, and I'll follow your routines and instructions so your pet feels comfortable, safe, and happy. I treat all pets like they were my own. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to provide dependable care throughout the week, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and many holidays. Because I have plenty of availability, your pet will receive the time, attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. I'll do my best to accommodate your schedule and provide reliable, consistent care you can count on. I'm available for weekday and weekend bookings, and I'll always do my best to work with your schedule whenever possible. Many dogs are happiest in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and routines. That's why I'm happy to provide attentive, reliable care in your home while you're away. My goal is to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for. I'll follow your instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special routines that help your pet feel comfortable. While you're away, I'll keep things clean and tidy, provide regular photo and message updates, and make sure you have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and in good hands.
“Neida goes above and beyond for our pups! We are so happy to have found her and trust her completely with our two fur babies. She is both knowledgeable and communicative. We will certainly be using her again in the future!”

“Musa , thank you for your courteous and polite manners. It’s always refreshing to be around optimistic people like yourself. We were always informed of the progress of your visits to walk Browny and had that very important peace of mind knowing we were in good hands.”

“Alison was wonderful with our German shepherd. She was always on time for walks and very communicative. I can tell she has a true love of animals. Our dog was in great hands with her! We will be using her services again in the future.”

“Tricia was great. This was her first week meeting and walking our male Doberman while we were away. She bonded with him immediately, was eager to learn his cues, and was always prompt and courteous. I felt I could trust her completely with him. She kept us updated about her arrival times, and after just two days of getting to know her, he was clearly looking forward to their walks.”

About: I’ve done another dog sitting service for 2 years and am switching to rover now that I am in a new city! I’ve watched many family friends dogs over the years as well. I am waiting on credentialing things so am currently free all day every day until that comes in so I am ready to take care of all of your animals! In your home I do love going on walks so I am more than happy to walk them and in my home we are in a busy area with lots of walking space for them.
“Sarah was amazing as a dog walker for my pups! She was very responsive, came exactly on time for the walk, and was clearly so sweet and loving with both of my dogs! One of my pups is quite shy and Sarah spent extra time with her to get her comfortable before the walk which was above and beyond amazing. Will absolutely book with her again in the future!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities over the years. I raised my own dog from puppyhood and also have experience fostering, so I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, crates, and keeping up with your dog’s normal routine. I know how important it is to have someone you genuinely trust with your pet, so I’ll treat them like they’re my own and keep you updated while they’re in my care. I’m also comfortable with multiple-dog households and dogs that may need a little extra patience and attention. I work from home full-time, which gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I’m also able to accommodate many last-minute requests. If you happen to live in my building or nearby, even better — I’m happy to help with quick walks, drop-ins, or care when something comes up unexpectedly. I live in a secure high-rise and provide a calm, clean environment where your dog will get plenty of individual attention. I’m comfortable following whatever routine your dog is used to, including feeding schedules, walks, crate routines, and any house rules you have in place. About: [NOTE: I was active on Rover before the star system was employed, so I have reviews, but no stars yet as I jump back in!] I'm Tom, based in Falls Church near the National Cemetery. I work from home as a consultant with a lot of flexibility during the week, so weekday middays are actually open rather than squeezed around something else. I'm looking after all kinds of dogs, from easy ones who just want their loop around the block to dogs who need a little more thought. My own dog is Buddy, a 70lb pittie who was very reactive towards people and animals. I've also fostered for Lost Dog and AARF in Baltimore, which meant a steady rotation of dogs showing up with almost no history, so you learn to read a dog quickly and adjust rather than run everyone through the same routine. Some of those fosters were reactive, on leash with other dogs or with strangers approaching, and a few were both. It's an area I am familiar with and I'm glad to take those dogs on. It also just made me a better walker generally. I pay attention to the small stuff, the ears and the pause, and I'd rather pick a calm route your dog actually enjoys than a scenic one that leaves them wound up. If your dog does better in a particular harness or with a specific setup, tell me and I'll use it! I used to pet sit here on Rover, and these days I stick to weekday walks and drop-ins close to home so I'm never rushing between neighborhoods. I've got a car, so rain doesn't change anything and I can get to a vet fast if I ever need to. I ask for a meet and greet for reactive dogs before every first booking. I want to meet your dog on their turf with you there, and hear how you read them, since nobody knows them better than you do! Non-reactive dogs can have a meet and greet too, but it isn't mandatory. Available weekdays, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Would love to hear about your dog! I'm currently off-season for my job, so I can reliably be scheduled from 9AM to 3PM (so I can do daycare pickup)! I have lots of flexibility this time of year. Happy to be a recurring friend! I follow whatever routine you set. Tell me where the leash and treats live, how you want the door handled, and any quirks I should know about, and I'll stick to it exactly. I leash up before opening the door, check the collar or harness fits properly, and confirm the door is locked behind me on the way out. Keys or codes stay with me and aren't shared. If anything seems off with your dog, you'll hear from me right away.
About: I grew up with 4 German shepherds and currently have a baby golden doodle. He is so energetic and very friendly to everyone he meets. Im current a full time college student which gives me flexible time to work and attend classes. This also means I can rearrange my schedule to fit the things I need to do outside of my in person classes. I provide loving, reliable care by following each pet's routine, including feeding, fresh water, exercise, and playtime. In a client's home, I follow their instructions and keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment.

Ozgenur took very good care of my dog Grace for almost 10 straight days while I was traveling…. She was always on time, and gave her very good walks and exercise. I was very pleased with Ozgenur’s work and would gladly have her take care of Grace again. Highly recommend her as a dog walker and caretaker for your Pet(s). Thank you Ozgenur!!

Lindsay is terrific. She’s everything I want for my dog. She’s a good communicator and has always been on time. She’s very good with my pup— can tell she has lots of experience with dogs. And she genuinely enjoys my guy, who’s very goofy and idiosyncratic. I’m very happy to be working with her.

Giang helped my anxious pups feel at ease right away! She's clearly an animal lover and they warmed up quickly with her. She's also a fantastic communicator - very prompt and clear. Highly recommend and so grateful to have found her as someone trustworthy that both me and my pups can rely on.

I ended up in a last minute bind and reached out to Sierra to provide 2 dog walks for me the following day. She responded quickly, worked with my time frame, and had great communication. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby and being available last minute!!! Will certainly reach out if i need care again
As always Han was great with Baxter, our 80 pound bernedoodle who is not great on a leash. She did his morning walk every day for two weeks was very communicative and responsive. She provided comments in his Rover card about how it went, which was both informative and entertaining. Highly recommend her!

It's been so wonderful having Ruby walk my pup. I'm very protective over him and she has done a great job putting me at ease. She's always on time and responsive which is a huge deal for me. She handles all his crazy golden energy in stride. Highly recommend her.
There really are no words to describe Elisabeth's commitment to serving her clients. She goes above and beyond every single time. I am house ridden with a broken femur and she stepped in to help me out this week even though her schedule was already full. I could not have made it through this week without her-she deserves more than five stars!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
