“Elise is very professional and also has been very flexible with my ever changing schedule. Her report cards are very detailed with fun photos. She clearly loves animals and my dog loves her back! Highly recommend Elise for your fur baby!”

“Joon was great with Luna, who is a very sweet but timid dog especially since this was her first time being walked by someone else without my presence. Joon was calm, confident, and caring and I will 100% use him again.”
“Come rain or shine, Amanda was always here with a smile for our big and little bubbas! There is no price for the peace of mind to know that our abode, Finnegan and Nibbs were in good hands while we were away! Would give more stars if I could! Hate to move away, hope to be as fortunate with whomever we find next.”

“Lei was great with Korra! She was very good with her and took her for a nice long walk, which she needs as an Aussie! Korra had a good time and is nice and tired now. Thanks!”

“Ihana was great and helped us out last minute when our normal dog walker had to cancel a week of walks. She was able to walk Norman with short notice and was very responsive and took great photos!”

About: Ever since I was little, I have been known to care extra for the animals and creatures around me. I can remember helping out with family friends' dog, cat, or horse feedings fairly early on in my life. I have petsitting experience as well as internship experience at Ark Veterinarian Hospital, where I completed a 6-week full-time internship shadowing Dr. Kate Connell 2 years ago. I was able to work with some amazing technicians and doctors. I was even able to observe a few orthopedic surgeries. Now I can say that I have worked with all sorts of dogs and cats in varying medical and behavioral states. I feel incredibly grateful for the experience. I have pets of my own; my family dog Cabot (a Welsh Springer Spaniel) lives with my dad in Middlebury, and my cat Somtso (a beautiful longhair rescue) lives with me between Pennsylvania and Virginia. My family and I have cared for Cabot for over 7 years now, and sweet Somtso for over 5. I am a full-time college student going into my senior academic year at Dickinson College and am curious about fun ways I could save some money this summer. Let me know if you have any specific questions! Summers are the best time for bookings. Between semesters I have full time flexibility to accommodate a variety of bookings and locations. Working for rover allows me to organize my hours in a way that is best for me and my clients. I live with roommates on campus, and alternate between living spaces when I am home, so having pets stay with me is not something I am able to accommodate at this time. I would love to be able to care for your pets elsewhere. I can do anything from long walks or games of fetch to tire an excited pup out, light training and feedings, and any help with medication or supplement schedules.
About: I have taken care of cats and dogs for almost a decade. Fun, loving pet sitter with experience with cats and dogs with different diets and medical needs. I am currently doing this as my full-time gig. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I am flexible and more than willing to work around timing. I am mainly doing in-home visits as well as walking services. Following instructions to ensure safe and effective pet care as my approach is customizable for each pet and their owner.
About: I’ve been around pets for a majority of my life! I’ve have had a mini golden doodle (Bella) for 8 years and introduced our cat (Silvia) 3 years ago. A little passion of mine is teaching my dog little tricks, and I really enjoy getting to understand animals in general. I’ve fostered dogs for short periods, dog sat, dog walked, and have babysat for 6 years. I love caring for others and providing your pets with a comfortable environment, one you trust. I work 9-3 (sometimes 9-5) coaching kids tennis camps during the weekdays and am available during the weekends. On work days I can walk or drop-in in the mornings before I head out and first thing when I’m done, then later in the evening before bed. I’m happy to dog sit in the pets home any day, I would just be leaving early morning if it’s a weekend. I focus on keeping their routine consistent by following feeding schedules, providing fresh water, giving them attention and enrichment, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I respect your home and your pets individual needs. I’m happy to provide updates and pictures to give you peace of mind that your pet is taken care of.
“Tricia is wonderful with my older black Labrador, Zack. I know he is well taken care of. I appreciate the details about his visit with Tricia too and I feel well informed about how he is doing. Tricia has been helpful working with me on scheduling too. Zack is doing great when I get home and I am happy to not have to worry. I know he is enjoying his time with Tricia.”

About: Hi! I have grown up with German Shepherds all my life - mine are currently 2 and 3, so high energy! I have petsit all sizes and am open to working with all dogs. Comfort level with 1-2 dogs at a time, most open to walks and checking in. Happy to practice tricks and training with dogs, I work with my own dogs and used to work in behavioral research so I am familiar with reinforcements. I currently work full-time during the day with a commute. I am open to weeknight petsitting but would need to discuss what works best for my schedule so your pet gets all the love and attention they need! Most available on weekends I have a fenced yard that my two German Shepherds play in. I also walk them, one at a time, on a leash. Mine are very excitable, so I work with them on leash training so they are not pulling and do not bark at other dogs.

About: I’ve been a passionate animal lover since birth! I’ve raised my two rescue cats, Milo and Mila, and my pug Max since I was 14. I’ve volunteered at my local animal shelter every summer from 2014 onwards, and have been a trusted dog-sitter/walker around my neighborhoods then also. I am very active and willing to take care of and walk with the more younger energetic pets or stay and give company to the lovely older ones as well. I believe patience, love, and care is the most important for all animals and nothing brings more joy to me other than seeing animals smile :). I am a recent college graduate of NYU currently still in the job hunt. My schedule is completely flexible and available for you and your pets’ best needs. I am available as early as 8:00 AM and as late as 6:00 PM. I am available for most NOVA areas as well and I do same-day appointment walks, but would prefer a couple hours notice, thank you! I have a range of pet supplies and treats available at my disposal. I am very active and schedule oriented, walking my own dog twice a day with set feeding times in the morning to maintain consistency. I care for animals with the utmost care and concern with extreme attention for detail for all specific needs for each animal!
About: I’m currently raising and training my second guide dog through Guiding Eyes for the Blind! I have gained experience with meeting every dogs personal needs and I can’t wait to learn about your pets’!. I’m currently home from college at VCU, so I will most likely be available! I can’t wait to meet you and your fur baby so please feel free to reach out! I am not offering boarding, but I will personally give each pet the attention and love that they deserve! Let me know whatever quirks your baby has and I will adore them as long as they let me!! I’m big on respecting the boundaries of animals, while ensuring they are safe and healthy.

About: I've been watching my neighbor's dogs for 2 years while they go on vacation for 1.5 weeks during the summer. I would drop in and play with them and take them on walks. I also have two cats of my own so if anyone needs a cat sitter or someone to drop in and see your cats I would love to! I am currently a full-time student at James Madison University. With my schedule, it works with my classes (depending on the day) to come in the mornings and/or evenings. In a client's home, I will be sure that the food and water bowl will be filled if needed and will be sure to play/cuddle with them while I am there. I will also be sure to take them on long enough walks to make sure they will be comfortable for the remaining time they have left.
“Katrina was patient and honestly great for having to deal with the hassle of getting through the parking, security, concierge and my apartment’s very complicated way of entering the unit itself. I am sure Maple was very happy and can’t thank her enough for putting up with the hassle and giving Maple the much needed walk!”

Juan has been great with both my dogs, especially my standard poodle puppy who has lots of energy. His communication is reliable and honest. He has helped me out with the dogs on short notice when we have been traveling. He really cares about the animals well being. I would definitely recommend Juan and plan to continue using him for our dogs needs.
Absolutely thrilled with Ozge dog walking services! She’s incredibly trustworthy, always respectful with my dog, and does an excellent job every time. She spends the time to get my dog tired and sends multiple pictures each time. Her communication is prompt and clear, which makes everything so easy. I highly recommend her to any dog parent looking for a reliable walker. Highly recommend for anyone looking in falls church to walk or watch their dog!

Lei has been absolutely wonderful with Freya these past few months! Freya is always so happy when she stops by. She is so attentive and caring with her, wiping her paws and making sure it’s not too hot for her to be outside long. She went above and beyond staying past the appointment time when Freya was stubborn and wouldn’t poop right away. Thank you so much for everything!

Sarah was amazing as a dog walker for my pups! She was very responsive, came exactly on time for the walk, and was clearly so sweet and loving with both of my dogs! One of my pups is quite shy and Sarah spent extra time with her to get her comfortable before the walk which was above and beyond amazing. Will absolutely book with her again in the future!

I can’t thank Chelsea enough for the wonderful care she provided. She was so flexible with our shifting schedule and was consistently responsive and attentive to every detail. It’s clear she truly cares about the pets she looks after. If you need someone who will treat your dog like their own, Chelsea is the one!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
