“Overall Sierra was great. She was very communicative and was willing to sort of modify what a normal visit would look like since I have pretty shy and anxious cats.”

“Musa was very personable, trustworthy, and great with my little girl. He was timely and followed instructions, let my girl out when I had an extended event. Will definitely use his help again!”

“Alison was amazing! She was attentive, kind, and very understanding of my pup’s needs. “Amanda was great with our cat. She was very attentive to our care instructions and got along well with the cat who is usually very shy. She sent us numerous pictures each visit to show how the cat was doing. She was clearly happy, healthy, and relaxed in Amanda’s care. I would definitely request her again the next time we need a cat sitter.”

“Elise is wonderful! She responded quickly and was accommodating to a last minute request. My dog Monty responded very well to her and she communicated thoroughly for each of the drop in visits. I will be using her again in the future!”

“Our puppy loves Devora!! She is communicative, prompt, reliable, and we know that our puppy is in good hands. She initiated a meet-and-greet before we booked and we could tell she was a good fit right away. She takes Nala on long walks, plays, and sends lots of cute picture updates. We are so lucky to have her watch our pup!”

About: I have experience taking care of dogs of all different kinds from a young age! I have a strong love and appreciation for all dogs and their unconditional love. I was an elementary school teacher for 8 years so patience, organization and an intense sense of care are my strongest skills. I am currently in the process of finding a new remote job and am home during the week and most weekends! I love to walk and having a buddy to come with me would make my day. My hours and days are pretty flexible ♥️ I live in an apartment with plenty of outside space around the building to take any pups outside to play with. I don’t have any pets at home so your pet will have my full undivided attention 🤍
“Sophia is absolutely amazing! She was so sweet during our meet and greet and I knew she was going to take care of my senior dog so well. My pup took a liking to her immediately which was great sign. She has done so well with providing detailed visit summaries that I have no questions about how my pup did that day. She’s great at communicating if an issue arises as well. I have enjoyed having her as a sitter and would recommend her!”

“Sara did an excellent job looking after our cat! She was thoughtful, timely, and communicated well with us to make sure our cat was well taken care of. I would recommend her highly!”

“Abigail was a wonderful Petsitter! She was so communicative and easy to work with. I felt very reassured that my cat was in good hands! I would have no hesitation booking her again.”

“Carina was great with Roxie and went above and beyond by taking our garbage out because it was smelling bad. Big thanks to her for keeping us informed and communicating with us while we were away!”

“Alexis was an absolutely wonderful sitter and went above and beyond to be communicative and kind. I was delighted to receive regular videos as well as rover cards, and fully trust her to cat sit in the future. Thank you Alexis for taking care of my baby!!”

About: My childhood dog was obsessed with my dad, so I didn't *truly* embrace my love of dogs until I moved in with an anxious, expressive Weimaraner 15 years ago. Beyond walking and sitting my sweet "furnephew," I have cared for a sassy Chihuahua, a paranoid bowling ball (aka Pitbull), a ball-obsessed Jack Russell mix, and a shy English Springer. Most significantly, I co-owned a stubborn, aloof Shiba Inu for more than four years, starting at 9 weeks. He taught me a special appreciation for reactive, highly-vigilant, and misunderstood dogs. I was accustomed to writing detailed instructions to make sure my sensitive boy felt comfortable and safe with any walker or sitter. I work mostly from home, and I'm looking to fit in sitting and walking engagements into my downtime to get my dog fix. I will also be available some evenings and weekends. I live in a dog-free building, but I am ready to take care of your pet in your home to fit your needs. I'm comfortable crating dogs as you deem necessary, letting the dog roam in a fenced-in yard, playing with a variety of toys in your home, or taking your dogs on walks with my full attention.

About: I started caring for dogs in 2017 when my family welcomed our first dog into our home. Since then, I’ve gained experience caring for my neighbors’ and friends’ dogs, providing them with attention, companionship, walks, and loving care. In 2024, I welcomed my own dog, Milo, a mini Goldendoodle who has helped me grow even more as a pet owner. I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and care I give my own. Taking care of pets is already a part of my everyday life with my dog Milo. I enjoy going on walks, playing, and making sure he feels happy and cared for. I love creating a safe and loving environment for pets, and I’m excited to bring that same care and attention to your furry family member. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I like to follow their normal routine, whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just giving them some extra attention and company. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I treat every dog like I would treat my own dog, Milo. I’m also happy to send updates and pictures so you can feel reassured that your pet is having a great time while you’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dunn Loring
Sarah has watched our cat at least three times now for extended periods of time and has done an excellent job every single time. She goes the extra mile by offering to do things such as watering plants, tidying up, rinsing off dishes, visiting extra days, and we are very appreciative and fortunate to have Sarah helping us, thank you!

Becky took wonderful care of Margaret while we were away. She came every day right when she was supposed to, made sure Margaret was fed, and even brushed her. She also sent us pictures every day, which gave us peace of mind while we were gone. Before long, it was pretty clear Margaret was very comfortable with her. We’d absolutely trust Becky to take care of her again.

Victoria was wonderful with both of my cats. She was caring, attentive, reliable and kept me updated throughout her visits.Even my usually shy cat warmed up and came to her which really showed how gentle and comfortable she made him feel.I felt completely at ease knowing both of my cats were in such good hands. She clearly loves animals and went above and beyond to make sure they were happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend her and would be happy to book her again!

Amanda did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs while we were gone for a few days! They were clearly very happy when we got home and she kept us posted with lots of cute pictures while we were gone. She even left them some treats and made sure their things were tidy on her last visit. We would 100% have her care for them again.

Elisabeth came through for us in a crisis and we can’t recommend her enough! She was flexible and willing to extend her pet sitting duties by a couple of days when the airlines cancelled our flight. Also our kitties loved her and she did a stellar job with photo updates.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
