“She was exactly who we needed to care for our finicky sweet cat. Abby communicated with us every time she visited with photos and videos of our kitty. She updated us on our kitty’s patterns and eating habits and learned when she wanted attention and when she needed a little space (so important for cats!). She was flexible with needing to find supplies in the house like trash bags when we didn’t leave enough out. Our cat clearly loved having her there and warmed up to her quickly. Bubs is usually visibly stressed after we are gone even with care but this time she was happy and relaxed when we got back. Abby was really the perfect cat sitter for us!!”

But a small, more fragile dog really needs a particular place where they can be safe and comfortable, so Devora’s home really was a perfect fit for this niche that put my mind at ease and allowed my dog to have a stable space he could relax without anxiety at the times we weren’t able to take him along with us. About: I've pet sit for my friends dogs and have raised a corgi puppy from 10 weeks old! I love dogs and will treat yours like mine. I have a playful and friendly corgi who plays well with all dogs. Plus I give excellent scratches. I will send a bunch of photos, as long as you don’t mind me spamming you with them! We do at least 3 walks a day, dog parks after work, and fun adventures on the weekends. Normally we eat breakfast around 8:30, go for a potty walk, and play. During the weekday, I take them out every 4 hours and do mental puzzles at home. If the weather is nice, we will go to a nearby dog park. On weekends, we tend to go out for outdoor adventures if the weather is nice I live in an apartment with ample walking nearby. Super dog friendly neighborhood. We have space to set up crates if needed. I am a neat person and will clean up after myself and the dogs.
About: Over the past 20 years, I’ve had three dogs, a Pomeranian, an Akita, and a Yorkshire Terrier. Each one had a different personality, but they were all very attached to me. About: [NOTE: I was active on Rover before the star system was employed, so I have reviews, but no stars yet as I jump back in!] I'm Tom, based in Falls Church near the National Cemetery. I work from home as a consultant with a lot of flexibility during the week, so weekday middays are actually open rather than squeezed around something else. I'm looking after all kinds of dogs, from easy ones who just want their loop around the block to dogs who need a little more thought. My own dog is Buddy, a 70lb pittie who was very reactive towards people and animals. I've also fostered for Lost Dog and AARF in Baltimore, which meant a steady rotation of dogs showing up with almost no history, so you learn to read a dog quickly and adjust rather than run everyone through the same routine. Some of those fosters were reactive, on leash with other dogs or with strangers approaching, and a few were both. It's an area I am familiar with and I'm glad to take those dogs on. It also just made me a better walker generally. I pay attention to the small stuff, the ears and the pause, and I'd rather pick a calm route your dog actually enjoys than a scenic one that leaves them wound up. If your dog does better in a particular harness or with a specific setup, tell me and I'll use it! I used to pet sit here on Rover, and these days I stick to weekday walks and drop-ins close to home so I'm never rushing between neighborhoods. I've got a car, so rain doesn't change anything and I can get to a vet fast if I ever need to. I ask for a meet and greet for reactive dogs before every first booking. Their yard was amazing - especially for our 95 lb mutt who just loves to run. And our little old man loved the cozy beds around the house. They sent pics and videos every day and our boys came back happy and healthy. As a bonus, while we have noticed our dogs often come back from Rovers smelling like a kennel, after a weekend with Helena and Nathan they came back smelling great!”
