About: I love working with dogs! I grew up with a variety of breeds and I am very patient and caring with all animals. My family had both large German shepherds and small miniature poodles, so I feel extremely comfortable with any size dog. I currently have a small rescue poodle mix, who I spoil just a little too much. I have also fostered and sat for various breeds and I really enjoy getting to know each dog's unique personality and temperament. Every dog deserves to be treated as a member of the family, which is exactly how I treat any pet in my care. “Barb, The Relief Every Pet Owner Needs Over the years, I grew increasingly scared to leave my 3 cats in a stranger's care. If needed I always drove them to my parents but it became clear that the roadtrip stressed them out more than if I had just left them at home and had a stranger come by the house. As a 1st time Rover user, Barb was a perfect find! She made the whole process unbelievably breezy. She very punctual to the meet and greet she set up the same day I sent my request. I ran her through the cat's litter and feeding schedule and already felt good about her. Immediately after this meet and greet, she sent me a screenshot of the notes she took afterwards which were notes on the food/water/litter instructions we had discussed for the brief meet. This really sealed it for me; not only did Barb exhibit great memory recall but also great attention to detail which is certainly needed in pet care. I had Barb check in twice a day for my 3 cats for a total of 9 days. She is very punctual to the times discussed and an expert with sending photos of furry loved ones to ease anxieties. She also made sure I was made aware of any event that occurred immediately in the Rover Card for that very check-in time. When responding to her or asking her questions she was quick and attentive with her responses. One of my cats loves to escape and is a bit of a "queen of the house" type of cat so she gets a bit protective of "her home" and after giving Barb some tips and tricks in what we do, my cat became calmer and more accepting of Barb as more check-ins occurred. They grew closer towards the end which is a testament of Barb's personality and care qualities. My other 2 cats are shy ones so there was a worry that we wouldn't be able to confirm if they were eating or not. But eventually Barb's calm and gentle presence coaxed them out enough to be spotted for a food grab or a hydration stop every now and then. Overall, having Barb as a first time Rover sitter and first time pet sitter was a perfect match and I feel lucky to have had her watching over my pets.”

“She was exactly who we needed to care for our finicky sweet cat. Abby communicated with us every time she visited with photos and videos of our kitty. She updated us on our kitty’s patterns and eating habits and learned when she wanted attention and when she needed a little space (so important for cats!). She was flexible with needing to find supplies in the house like trash bags when we didn’t leave enough out. Our cat clearly loved having her there and warmed up to her quickly. Bubs is usually visibly stressed after we are gone even with care but this time she was happy and relaxed when we got back. Abby was really the perfect cat sitter for us!!”

About: I adopted my cat Albus as a kitten in 2014 when he was found in a box on the side of the road. He was dehydrated and covered in bugs. After getting him to the vet and nursing him back to health, he loves staying close by! He is about 12 years old and is now losing his eyesight but is still so playful. After caring for Albus I decided to extend my help to other cat parents in 2023 after settling in Virginia. I have experience with feeding, administering oral medications, playtime, and liter box cleaning whether it’s a drop in or overnight stay.
