“Erica was very responsible and took great care of our Pomeranian! Sent lots of pictures and kept in constant touch. We were very happy with the service and will definitely use Erica again.”

“Anne was great! She stayed two nights with our Lab, and she was very communicative and just generally on top of things. She was very careful with him with the extreme heat and gave him frequent but short breaks outside. She asked good questions and was very attentive to his needs and his routines. She also went above and beyond and voluntarily returned to walk him one more time before she left town. We would absolutely recommend Anne, and will absolutely try to book her again in the future.”

“I cannot recommend Emily enough! She took amazing care of my pets while I was away for the second time. It’s clear she genuinely loves taking care of them — she provided regular updates, including adorable photos and detailed messages about how each pet was doing. Knowing my pets were in such caring hands gave me incredible peace of mind. I’ll absolutely be booking with Emily again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Antonia is great! Helped me out with house sitting while I was out of town and was great with my dog Lily. Even offered to put out the trash/recycling which was so kind and unexpected! Will certainly be hiring her again whenever I need pet care 🙂”

About: Note: Be sure to check my calendar for availability before booking. Thanks! I adopted my Puerto Rican rescue named Leo in 2019 and he has completely changed my life. He can be reactive on walks and is a super anxious boy in general so I have experience managing nervous dogs. Leo has taught me to see every dog as a cherished family member and loyal companion. When I meet a dog, I want to make them feel as loved and special as they make us feel everyday. My goal is to spend as much time as possible with dogs and I would love to meet yours! I know how exhausting it can be to work and meet your pets needs, and I would love to give you some peace of mind knowing they’ve gotten attention, love, and exercise while you’re busy. I am a student home for the summer and am free until September, but am taking a couple of weekends away so make sure to check my calendar. I am open to spending time with your dog in your home during the day and stay overnight for up to a week. I can do mealtimes and take walks/backyard playtime. And of course, will include endless cuddles.
“Hayley did an AMAZING job with my fur kids. I could not ask for anything better. She communicated well and made sure both my cat and dog were happy, healthy, and well loved ? My dog is wheelchair bound, which was a new experience for her, but she did a perfect job with him and I was so at ease with her being there. She was also a wonderful house guest and left my apartment as clean as when I left! I’ve had some bad Rover experiences and some pretty good ones, but I have to say that Hayley has been the best. I will 10/10 be calling on her again!!”

“I can't recommend Emma highly enough! From the moment we met, it was clear that they genuinely love and understand dogs. Our pups, who can be a little shy with new people and one 16 years…warmed up almost instantly — which never happens! Throughout the entire stay, Emma went above and beyond. She kept us updated with photos and adorable little notes about what our girls were up to. Whether it was playtime in the yard, snuggles on the couch, or rests it was obvious our girls were not just cared for — they were loved. When we returned, our pups was happy, healthy, and clearly had the time of their life. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our girls were in the hands of someone so responsible, kind, and attentive. If you're looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, look no further. Emma is a true gem!”

About: My childhood dog was obsessed with my dad, so I didn't *truly* embrace my love of dogs until I moved in with an anxious, expressive Weimaraner 15 years ago. Beyond walking and sitting my sweet "furnephew," I have cared for a sassy Chihuahua, a paranoid bowling ball (aka Pitbull), a ball-obsessed Jack Russell mix, and a shy English Springer. Most significantly, I co-owned a stubborn, aloof Shiba Inu for more than four years, starting at 9 weeks. He taught me a special appreciation for reactive, highly-vigilant, and misunderstood dogs. I was accustomed to writing detailed instructions to make sure my sensitive boy felt comfortable and safe with any walker or sitter. I work mostly from home, and I'm looking to fit in sitting and walking engagements into my downtime to get my dog fix. I will also be available some evenings and weekends. I live in a dog-free building, but I am ready to take care of your pet in your home to fit your needs. I'm comfortable crating dogs as you deem necessary, letting the dog roam in a fenced-in yard, playing with a variety of toys in your home, or taking your dogs on walks with my full attention.
“Kylee took great care of our dog at our apartment! She sent us updates and we felt very comfortable with her. We would definitely recommend her services!”

“Karly was great! This was my first time having someone other than friends/family watch Chase and it went so well thanks to Karly. She was very communicative. She took fantastic care of him. I absolutely recommend Karly!”

“Katie is so absolutely lovely, our dog Stega adored her. Katie did an incredible job getting Stega out of her shell and making her feel safe while we were out of town. Katie was responsive, respectful, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and Stega immediately took to her. Stega is not the easiest dog to win over, so we were very grateful that she had such a warm, playful, and approachable personality. Katie also took lots of pictures, which we loved. Excited to have her back next time we travel without our beloved pup!”

“Summer has taken care of our senior dog and senior cat multiple times. She’s developed a great relationship with them and is very reliable. We really appreciate the great care that she provides.”

“I would highly recommend Jess. She comes with a big smile in her face even if is a nasty raining day. She was affectionate towards my little puppy and super responsive to my messages while I was away from home. She sent pictures and let me know everything was going on with my dog. On top of that, she took an AMAZING care of my place. I got home and everything was pristine and clean. I would love to keep working with her.”

“The Best! Wayne and Jordan were amazing with my two rescue huskies while I was on vacation. The dogs are generally very cautious of strangers, and they were going through some sibling rivalry and needed to be kept apart - on separate floors of the house. Wayne and Jordan’s pet-sitting experience and patience were apparent in their daily communications and photos. It was great to see how the girls warmed up quickly! Each pup got lots of attention and exercise, and they were calm and happy when I got home. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The icing on the cake - the bedding was all washed and the house was clean when I got home. Highly Recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Jeff & Rebecca did a great job house sitting and looking after our two dogs and two cats. Jeff house sat for the four days, made sure the dogs were well looked after and the cats had their needs met. The house was kept up well and he made sure to clean up after himself. Jeff sent us daily pictures of all of our critters. We would definitely recommend their services.”

“Had a sitter cancel the evening before sitting. Madeline totally stepped up and took great care of my pup and gave me plenty of cute pics and updates through the day.”

“Deborah accommodated a last minute house sitting booking for us for a major holiday. She is friendly and communicative. She provided plenty of updates and photos. She was attentive to the med schedule and changes in litter box habits for our cat, as well as appetite changes in our dog. She safely handled our dog when there was another loose dog in our neighborhood. She was respectful of our home and most importantly loved on our pets while we were away. Thank you Deborah! We will be booking with you again.”

There are no adequate words to describe Yiting's incredible gift with animals and our gratitude for her work with us! We have a dog with very special needs, but from the first moment our dog interacted with Yiting, he was at ease and connected with her as if they'd known each other for years. This is entirely due to Yiting's innate ability and specialized training to connect with animals in a way that dignifies them and their needs, helping them feel secure. I am so thankful we found Yiting. She will be our #1 go-to for anything our dog needs in the future. And she took absolutely wonderful, thoughtful care of our home and even our two birds as an overnight sitter. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

We had another wonderful experience with her! She took fantastic care of Ollie while we were away for the week, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. She sent lots of photos and updates, had excellent communication throughout the stay, and our house was spotless when we got home. Best of all, Ollie was so happy and clearly well cared for. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter!

Ava was the perfect housesitter to our two pups! She was on time, had great communication, our house looked better than when we left it, and most importantly, our dogs were clearly taken care of with love and expertise. We’ll definitely be looking forward to working with her again.

I get nervous leaving my Gus with anyone. He is 15.5 and has some medical issues. But, Lucia was phenomenal and took wonderful care of him! Gus sadly got sick when Lucia was watching him, and she handled it all so well. She was very communicative and showed Gus a lot of love and care to help him feel better. I’m so thankful it was Lucia who was here while I was away. I highly recommend Lucia to take care of your fur babies.

Paola took wonderful care of Max while we were away for the weekend. She was kind, responsible, and attentive, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. Max looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we came home. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him, and I would absolutely trust her to care for Max again. I highly recommend Paola to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Ajia was a wonderful sitter for our two goldendoodles. She was incredibly communicative and it was clear she cared for our dogs so well, especially with one of them being a very anxious guy. We loved getting updates and photos each day! I would highly recommend her to anyone else and we would definitely ask her to watch our dogs again!

Alicia was a dream to work with. I don’t get away often & my terrier pup can be a handful, so I really appreciated her taking the time to help us all feel comfortable from start to finish. She’s a great communicator (with both people + pets), took attentive care of both the apartment space and my high-energy guy; we’re incredibly grateful for her help!

Elisabeth did a great job for us on July 11. She was prompt, arriving when I asked her to come, followed my instructions and communicated and sent pictures throughout the day. Came home after a long day to happy, stress free dogs. We will definitely reach out to her again if her availability allows. 👍
Gregory (Dean), was a terrific house sitter for our large mixed breed boy while we took a bucket list vacation for two weeks. He took good care of both our dog and our home, watered plants, brought in mail, and did great job bonding with our sometimes shy guy. I would absolutely recommend him.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westover walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westover maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westover choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
