“Veronica is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! My six month old puppy Zeke loved her and had such a great time with her and her dog JoJo. She kept me up-to-date on how things were going and sent pictures every day. She stayed at my house and when I returned, it was like I never left… She had cleaned everything up!! She is fantastic! Highly recommended!”

“Liliana was great with jeter! Super communicative and he was very comfortable with her. We could tell jeter was well taken care of and definitely would recommend her as a rover!”

“Deborah accommodated a last minute house sitting booking for us for a major holiday. She is friendly and communicative. She provided plenty of updates and photos. She was attentive to the med schedule and changes in litter box habits for our cat, as well as appetite changes in our dog. She safely handled our dog when there was another loose dog in our neighborhood. She was respectful of our home and most importantly loved on our pets while we were away. Thank you Deborah! We will be booking with you again.”

“Laurie took such great care of Marcus, kept him company and made sure he was entertained and exercised while I was out of town. She sent thorough daily updates with pictures and video. I returned home to a happy puppy exhausted and ready for a full night of sleep!”

“Holly is a brilliant sitter! Looked after my dog like she was her own, plenty of updates throughout my time away, and left the house neat and tidy. Thanks Holly!”

“I went out to CO for Memorial Day Weekend and Paris hung out at my place with Zoe. Haven’t done this before but with Zoe being 14, I preferred to have her in the comfort of our home. Paris did a great job with Zoe and the house, and was great about giving me updates. I’ll definitely be hitting her up again when I go on vacation and cannot bring Z with me!”

“Everything went well and smoothly!!! Timothy was very responsive and respectful!!! Logan has a great afternoon. Good to see you again Timothy”

“Kelly did an amazing job house-sitting and taking care of our Golden while we were away for an extended weekend. She was responsible, communicative, and great about sending us pictures - giving us peace of mind while we were away. The house was spotless and exactly as we left it, and it was clear that Huckleberry was well cared for and happy. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Tasha was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and it was easy to coordinate with her. She sent daily updates, pictures and videos and was great with my pup. Will def use her again!”

“Orianne is the best! She is so sweet, caring, calm. Madeline was comforted while we were out, which means the world to us. Madeline was happy to see us, and we could tell she was relaxed. Orianne will be our first call should we need a pet sitter again!”

“Karly was again a lifesaver, but this time with house/dog sitting overnight for several days. Communication was great and she left everything organized and clean at my house. She might have even left my place cleaner than how I left it for her! Karly will be my go to when I leave for future trips. Thank you!”

“Our small rescue dog has only been left alone for a couple of hours a day since she was saved from living in a field with a bad breeder. We were very anxious about leaving her for a week but Jason did an outstanding job of keeping her happy, well walked, and communicated with us twice a day or more to make sure we were comfortable with her status. We highly and unconditionally recommend Jason and look forward to using his services again.”

“Christina was incredibly responsive and showed our dogs lots of love while we were gone. One of our dogs doesn’t usually eat when we leave but Christina made her feel so comfortable that she ate all her meals. We received updates regularly while gone in addition to Christina making sure our home was taken care of. Highly recommend using Christina!”
“Katie is great! We have had her stay with our dog Grant twice and we’ll definitely reach out the next time we are out of town! She’s very sweet and a great communicator!”

“Wow, what a terrific dog sitter and dog walker. Eric is a trustworthy and reliable person. He met our little dog and immediately bonded with him. We have used his services since we moved to DC two years ago and feel blessed. Eric helps us with dog walks and dog sitting. He is very thorough and takes notes of any issues, treat schedules, or favorite toys. He also sends us lovely updates with photos of our little cockapoo. We are so happy with Eric he deserves 6 stars as a rating. Thank you, Eric!”

“Molly did such a lovely job with our Bailey! She was super communicative and on top of everything Bailey needed for the weekend. I’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Claudia is the best! She took great care of our pup and provided great updates. This was our second time with Claudia and we already have another week booked with her. Book with confidence!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and have always had a deep love for animals! One of my favorite things about pet sitting for my neighborhood growing up was getting to know each pet’s unique personality and what makes them special. I’m a dependable, caring, and communicative pet sitter who understands how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I’ll keep you updated with photos, messages, and timely communication, so you can see how much fun we’re having! Whether your dog loves long adventures or quick neighborhood walks, I’m happy to match their energy. I also enjoy playtime and giving plenty of attention and affection. After a fun day/walk together, they’ll be ready for a well earned pup nap! I work from home 3 days a week and am flexible on timing, so seeing your pup throughout the day or for a lunchtime walk is no problem at all! I am almost always local on the weekends as well. I focus on keeping your dog’s routine as consistent and comfortable as possible! I know pets feel most at ease in familiar surroundings, so I’ll follow your instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any specific preferences your pet may have. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, while making sure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’ll also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

We could not have asked for a better sitter than Summer! She took wonderful care of our baby boy, Willy, while we were away. Summer was exceptionally responsible, communicative, and attentive. The photos and updates she sent gave us complete peace of mind—it was clear from every picture that Willy felt comfortable, relaxed, and truly happy in her care. When we returned home, he was calm, content, and in great spirits. We appreciate Summer’s dedication and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!

Laurie took such great care of Marcus, kept him company and made sure he was entertained and exercised while I was out of town. She sent thorough daily updates with pictures and video. I returned home to a happy puppy exhausted and ready for a full night of sleep!

Olivia was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly communicative throughout my entire trip and sent me photos every day. Even just from the pictures, I could tell how happy, relaxed, and comfortable Cooper was with her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I had a few specific instructions for Cooper, including giving him his probiotic and turning on his Furbo camera whenever she left the house, and Olivia followed everything perfectly. She was extremely attentive, reliable, and clearly took such great care of him. I already have plans to book her again for another upcoming trip, which probably says it all. 10/10 experience and could not recommend Olivia enough!

Ariel is amazing and my dog loves her! She is so reliable, communicates so well with great photos, and spoils my dog while I’m away. She even stopped by to give him another walk and feed him dinner when my return trip was delayed. She left house in perfect condition, too. I hope she’s available another time I go out of town. Thanks, Ariel!!

Landrum was a life saver! He took excellent care of my dog while I was an away on a last minute trip - he even extended his stay when something came up - that really saved me! Not only was he helpful in accommodating my emergency travel plans, but he took such good care of Bowie and sent lots of photos. It look like they were having a blast - I could see Bowie was truly happy. Really puts your mind at ease when you know your pets are in good hands. Would definitely recommend!!!

This was our first time leaving our dogs with Vivian and she was wonderful! Our dogs really connected with her, including one that's a bit on the shy side. She left our home in great shape, is incredibly responsive, and sent photos and updates along the way that put my mind at ease. Highly recommend her!

Molly took wonderful care of our two cats: administering medications, playing, and giving them time and attention. Molly has a wealth of experience with animals, and is patient and thoughtful. We came home to two happy, healthy cats, and we’ll be booking with Molly again for our next long trip. It’s a huge relief to find a pet sitter that you trust completely!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baileys Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baileys Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baileys Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
