“Elizabeth was great with our persnickety senior dog! She delivered medications at specific times for her and spent time building trust with her. She was communicative and we felt confident our dog was totally taken care of. We'd definitely book with Elizabeth again.”

“Renee took fantastic care of my dog while I was away and clearly loved on him totally! She sent great videos of their walking adventures and him playing. The house was in terrific condition when I got home. I look forward to booking with Renee again when I travel. I trust her to keep my fur child safe and happy. Thanks Renee!”

“Always amazing with my dogs! One of my pups was suffering from an upset stomach the night before my trip and Oriana went out of her way to feed her a special diet of pumpkin all week. I really appreciate when a sitter goes out of their way to take care of my senior pets 🙏❤️”

“Andrea was very professional and also clearly likes animals. She was very clear with me about what she would do and when. I would hire her again. Great job!”

“Christina was incredibly responsive and showed our dogs lots of love while we were gone. One of our dogs doesn’t usually eat when we leave but Christina made her feel so comfortable that she ate all her meals. We received updates regularly while gone in addition to Christina making sure our home was taken care of. Highly recommend using Christina!”
“Absolutely wonderful experience. Hannah took great care of our pups during this latest NOVA heat wave keeping us up to date on what she was doing to make sure the dogs were both happy and healthy despite temps over 100 degrees! We already have her lined up for our next out of town trip!!!”

“McKenna was amazing! She communicated throughout my trip and took amazing care of my pets and home. It is clear she loves caring for pets and my dog and cat were no exception. I look forward to booking with her again and I know my pets do too!”

“Tara housesat for our rescue pittie and we couldn't have had a better experience! This was our first time leaving our dog along for an extended period and Tara helped us feel at ease. She gave us daily updates with photos and communicated if there were any questions or we had a last minute request. Everything was clean when we returned. Thanks Tara!”
“Elizabeth is a great dog and house sitter! Our two dogs were very happy and our house was so clean like she had not been here at all! She was very communicative and responsive! Will definitely use again.”

“Molly did such a lovely job with our Bailey! She was super communicative and on top of everything Bailey needed for the weekend. I’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Michelle was really great. She was prompt and clear when communicating with me. She sent pictures and updates through out each day. Most importantly she was understanding and patient with ME as I explain in detail a lot of what my dogs need. I have a 13 yo and a 13 month old, both labs and each comes with some very specific handling needs especially around feeding and walking and Michelle was open to letting me communicate these needs. Her care and attention to the dogs' needs helped me relax on our vacation. I will definitely be asking her again to stay with the dogs. Thanks Michelle”

“This is the third time Katie has stayed with my dog Luna. This time was an extended stay and Katie was great about sending photos and updates! Luna was happy and healthy when we got home!”

“We sure enjoyed having Elvia keeping our little guy. She did an awesome job. Elvis kept us informed, responsible, on time and took wonderful care of our little guy. We look forward to using her again.”

“Lana took wonderful care of our three cats. All of them absolutely loved her and she was great at communicating with us and sent lots of pictures throughout the stay. She was also an amazing houseguest and went totally above and beyond by taking great care of our place. We felt so comfortable with her taking care of our babies while she was away and would definitely recommend her.”

“Kellie is an excellent pet sitter. She is reliable and responsive. She took great care of our two dogs for two weeks. This was our first time with Kellie and we plan to request her help in the future.”

Fantastic! The two most important things for us when leaving our pets with a sitter are the safety of our pets and good communication and Vivian knocked it out of the park on all fronts. Excellent communication from initial inquiry through the stay with regular updates, followed our (perhaps overly detailed) care instructions for our cat, dog and turtle and left our house spotless. Zero stress just wonderful and contentious care. We will definitely be booking Vivian next time we go away!
Sarah is the absolute best! She consistently goes above and beyond taking care of Barkley. She’s punctual, dependable, and Barkley absolutely loves spending time with her. I can't recommend Sarah enough to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!

Scotty did a great job caring for our larger dogs! Before house sitting, he came over for a meet and greet and asked thoughtful questions about their care instructions. Our dogs were happy and healthy when we got back. Looking forward to working with Scotty again in the future!

Having Haley watch my cat, Q'Raka, was was a great experience. She was responsive and provided great updates while checking in on kitty. She was also attentive to care instructions and bonded quickly with my little girl making her feel loved while I was away. I recommed her and plan on reaching out to her again if I need to have a sitter for Q'Raka.

I get nervous leaving my Gus with anyone. He is 15.5 and has some medical issues. But, Lucia was phenomenal and took wonderful care of him! Gus sadly got sick when Lucia was watching him, and she handled it all so well. She was very communicative and showed Gus a lot of love and care to help him feel better. I’m so thankful it was Lucia who was here while I was away. I highly recommend Lucia to take care of your fur babies.

We were lucky to find Gabriela after our original Rover sitter canceled soon before our vacation. Gabby stayed in our house and took great care of our three pets. Our old dog had gastrointestinal problems resulting in indoor accidents, and Gabby handled it efficiently and went above and beyond with the cleaning. We are very grateful she paid attention, did what needed to be done, and acted professionally throughout. Highly recommend!
Ajia was a wonderful sitter for our two goldendoodles. She was incredibly communicative and it was clear she cared for our dogs so well, especially with one of them being a very anxious guy. We loved getting updates and photos each day! I would highly recommend her to anyone else and we would definitely ask her to watch our dogs again!

Kari really me helped me feel at ease going away for a few days without knowing how my newly adopted pup with separation anxiety would react. Turns out Kari is a dog whisperer and Belle did great in her care! Kari was communicative in how things were going and she was very observant and thoughtful in understanding and proposing what Belle might need or like. Thank you Kari for being so kind and attentive with Belle and all of us as a family!
Elisabeth did a great job for us on July 11. She was prompt, arriving when I asked her to come, followed my instructions and communicated and sent pictures throughout the day. Came home after a long day to happy, stress free dogs. We will definitely reach out to her again if her availability allows. 👍

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 10,052 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lincolnia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lincolnia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lincolnia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lincolnia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
