“OMG! Beth went above and beyond with her care for Chesty. He was very anxious and nervous and she so patiently worked with him to keep him calm and happy. She communicated with me multiple times daily which helped relieve my anxiety. I have already reserved her for another stay with him!”

“Marie is amazing!!! My pets were thoughtfully taken care of and she provided me multiple updates and pictures while I was away! Would recommend and definitely will book again!”

“Andrea was such a wonderful sitter for our holiday weekend! She was so responsive and engaging, and I felt so at ease knowing she was taking care of our fur babies while we were away. I would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for amazing care!”

“Jessica watched my dog Olive for just under a week and was a great sitter. She was really easy to coordinate with and had great communication throughout the entire stay. Her dog Ernie and Olive looked like they had a blast playing together too!”

“Holly is a brilliant sitter! Looked after my dog like she was her own, plenty of updates throughout my time away, and left the house neat and tidy. Thanks Holly!”

“Nicole went above and beyond to sit our dogs, even when they were difficult at times. She was very communicative and thorough, asking lots of great questions. She also left our place in great shape!”

“Orianne took wonderful care of my bulldog Bowie. He can sometimes be reactive and struggles going up /down stairs but Orianne knew how to handle his temperament :) she was great about sending photos and updates - would definitely recommend!”

“This was our second time using Katie and once again, we could not be more pleased. This visit showed us just how responsible and caring Katie is (we already knew this of course, but this visit made it even more impressed). Katie is ALWAYS consistent with her communication and photos, is super flexible with scheduling and overall just a wonderful sitter. We love Katie and will absolutely use her again !!! :)”

“Renee house sat our pitty mix for 11 days. She was very communicative during the whole period. She was also very respectful of our home. We came home to a very happy dog and a clean house! We definitely would book Renee's time again on our next trip.”

“Kathryn is a gem! What I loved the most is that she thought about everything that an owner may want to have peace of mind while away, asked the questions to validate and understand in our meet and greet and then delivered on it. Kathryn was detailed and communicative when it came to her approach with the dogs, and how she managed her time with them. She took them on a field trip! She was conscientious in how she left the house and stayed with the dogs until I returned. I know the dogs were well taken care of and I didn't worry or ever have to initiate contact because Kathryn was so on top of it. Five stars!”

“Jeannie is wonderful! She provided such great care for my fur babies while I was going through a difficult time and put me at ease while I was nervous of leaving my pups. She provided such great updates with pictures and videos reassuring me they were getting plenty of love and attention. Jeannie also went the extra mile to go to the store and get my dogs pumpkin and rice when they had an upset stomach. I highly recommend Jeannie and will continue to book with her because I am at ease when having to travel without my fur babies. Thank you Jeannie for your excellent care and communication”

About: Hi, I'm Krystal! I love dogs and have cared for dogs before. I grew up with dogs and have always had them in the home with me, so I am accustomed to their needs and demeanor. I can also provide baths, light grooming, walks, and lots of play time. I do work remotely some days. I'll only put your dog in his cage unless you specifically request for me to. I also have surveillance cameras in my home, so I can see what your dog is doing at all times, even when I'm away from home! My dog, Bertrand, passed away at the age of 15 in 2023. While this was a very hard time for me, I realize that I have a lot of love to give to other dogs out there and can do so with your baby. I would love to care for your pets and show them love while you are away! I currently work remotely which allows me to provide a reasonable amount of supervision for your pup. I am available on the weekends as well. I care for pets by keeping a watchful eye on their behaviors and mannerisms. That way I can tailor my care giving approach to a level that is comfortable for the both of us.
“Kari is absolutely fantastic! She agreed to come watch our boys in our home at the last minute. From the moment we booked her, communication was frequent and helpful! Our dogs absolutely loved her and had a fantastic weekend on walks and snuggling in the house. I know our dogs and our home were so well taken care of while we were away. I will absolutely be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“Brianna took care of my pup for 5 nights and he was so happy and healthy when we got back! He has a lot of bladder issues and she did a great job following extra instructions to handle it ! She was loving to him and was by his side most of the time I was away! She also left my home perfectly clean”

“Once again, Robin and Ahmed exceeded my expectations. My cats adore them which is evident from the many pictures they send me while I am away. They left the house in tip top condition — would hardly know they were there for a week. I highly, highly recommend them! Your babies will be safe and well cared for and your time away worry free.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Sam! He was beyond wonderful with my dog while he stayed over the weekend. He took long walks, sent pictures, and left my home in perfect condition! Will absolutely be rebooking with him in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - College Park
Rosie took great care of my two cats. She was communicative and provided regular updates. She is also easygoing and friendly, and you can tell she enjoys being around pets. One of my cats has frequent respiratory issues and requires a very clean house. As a result, the floors needed to be steam-cleaned during Rosie’s stay, and she was happy to do it. Thank you, Rosie!
This is my second time working with Nicole and she is definitely a top house-sitting choice for me. Both stays have been excellent! I’m able to be away worry-free knowing the pets are safe and loved and the house being respectfully cared for. She’s super kind, great communication, and I love the updates!

Sarah is the absolute best! She consistently goes above and beyond taking care of Barkley. She’s punctual, dependable, and Barkley absolutely loves spending time with her. I can't recommend Sarah enough to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!

Erica was amazing with our two cats and our dog. She kept us updated throughout our time away, left the house spotless, and, most importantly, treated our pets with genuine care and kindness. It was clear from the start that she truly loves animals, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone. We came home to happy pets and a clean home. I would absolutely recommend Erica to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

We are so grateful for the wonderful care Sydney gave our dogs. The dogs were very nervous while we were gone and unfortunately had diarrhea and several accidents during their stay. Sydney kept us updated with messages and photos, was incredibly patient, and handled everything with such kindness and professionalism. She even went out to buy extra cleaning supplies and washed everything that needed it. We truly appreciated all of the extra effort she put in and how well she cared for our pups despite the unexpected challenges. We would book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and compassionate sitter. Thank you so much!

Scotty did a great job caring for our larger dogs! Before house sitting, he came over for a meet and greet and asked thoughtful questions about their care instructions. Our dogs were happy and healthy when we got back. Looking forward to working with Scotty again in the future!

Having Haley watch my cat, Q'Raka, was was a great experience. She was responsive and provided great updates while checking in on kitty. She was also attentive to care instructions and bonded quickly with my little girl making her feel loved while I was away. I recommed her and plan on reaching out to her again if I need to have a sitter for Q'Raka.

Jeff was great! He was very communicative and thorough, having read through all our notes beforehand and responding to all our requests. Our dog and cat both seemed to love the attention they got and the house was well looked after while we were away as well! We’ll definitely rebook!

Daniela stayed with our dog Skyler for 5 days. This was the first time we’d left her at home with a sitter and it worked out perfectly. Daniela was always responsive to text and sent plenty of pictures which showed me that Skyler was having a good time. All which made our trip so much less stressful. Skyler was well cared for. Will definitely use her again!

Alexis was wonderful! She took such great care of my dog, cat, and home. She was a great communicator and gave such nice updates. I trusted her with the care of my pets and she went above and beyond! I will absolutely use her again and unequivocally recommend her for your pet sitting needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in College Park on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 10,127 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across College Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred College Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in College Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in College Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
