“Elizabeth was great! She rolled with the punches of my apartment complex’s (sometimes frustrating) parking situation and took great care of my super energetic pup! Communication was great throughout the process of booking, meeting, and the actual stay. I’ll definitely contact her in the future for the next time I travel!”

“Holly is a brilliant sitter! Looked after my dog like she was her own, plenty of updates throughout my time away, and left the house neat and tidy. Thanks Holly!”

“Erica was amazing with our two cats and our dog. She kept us updated throughout our time away, left the house spotless, and, most importantly, treated our pets with genuine care and kindness. I would absolutely recommend Erica to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Sarah was a great cat sitter for us over a 10 day trip to Europe. She took the time to meet with us and cats before the trip, and get the rundown on their schedule and any house related info. She did overnights for us and when we returned everything was clean, tidy and in order. Most importantly, our cats were happy and well-cared for. Highly recommend Sarah!”

About: I've loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. From ages 10 to 18, I lived in a home with multiple pets, including dogs, cats, and birds of all ages. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, playing, administering medication, and providing daily care to ensure they were happy and healthy. Today, I have my own dog, Loki, who has been part of my family for the past three years. I believe pets are family, and I treat every animal with the same compassion, patience, and love that I give my own. My goal is to provide a safe, caring, and dependable experience so you can have peace of mind while your furry family member is in my care. I'm available weekdays from 9 AM–9 PM and weekends from 10 AM–8 PM. Since I have a dog at home, I provide attentive care in your pet's familiar environment. I provide respectful, loving care in your pet's familiar environment, following their routine and treating them with the same attention and compassion I give my own dog. I am very comfortable with taking them on walks within your residential area.
“We could not have found a better person to watch our doggies! She was very communicative the whole time. We could tell she genuinely loves dogs and knows how to handle them. She put my mind at ease while handling personal matters and I would definitely be continuing to use her service! Thank you so much, Quiana!”

“Renee was wonderful with my pup and cat. She adapted without a problem when Truffle got an injury right before we left and suddenly had to take medications that he usually doesn’t have to use. Renee was able to get him to take the meds without a problem and keep him comfortable. It was obvious that our pets were well taken care of and Renee stayed well beyond the scheduled time to be present when we arrived.”

“Rosie did a fantastic job watching our dog, Janie, for a couple of hours! She was punctual, friendly, and made us feel confident that Janie was in great hands. When we got home, Janie was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We really appreciated Rosie’s attentiveness and the peace of mind she gave us while we were away. We’d absolutely book with Rosie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker!”

Dena was incredible! She took care of my little kitty so well. I usually feel anxious leaving my kitty alone but Dena honestly did such a great job at checking in and making me feel comfortable that I was able to relax during my trip. She also cleaned before she left allowing me to come home to a relaxing space. 11 out of 10 recommend her. Dena’s husband Jo is also great with animals; I approved him to visit during her stay and play with my cat and he was super sweet with my kitty.

Am super grateful for this first housesit Christine did for us. Three somewhat needy creatures we have. Not only did she fulfill a special feeding routine (3 meals for the 3 per day, plus treats), she engaged our 2 orange tabby indoor kitties in play (not a lot needed, but they are particular about how they play). AND she won our sometimes and unpredictably grumpy malshi's heart in the smart combination of no eye-contact, and connecting thru tricks with treats (rewards for two way communication, acknowledgment). I'm persnickety about how to manage the litter, for behavior's and cleanliness sake; that and our plants and the rest of our home were well cared for. Thank you Christine! See you again soon.

Laurie took such great care of Marcus, kept him company and made sure he was entertained and exercised while I was out of town. She sent thorough daily updates with pictures and video. I returned home to a happy puppy exhausted and ready for a full night of sleep!

We’ve had the pleasure of having Ian care for our dogs once again, and as always, we couldn’t be happier. Ian is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. We especially appreciate that he goes the extra mile—not only taking great care of the boys but also cleaning up the yard after them. It’s such a thoughtful extra touch and makes coming home so much easier. We highly recommend Ian and will definitely be using him in the future!

David was so great with our very (very!) slow to warm up dog Snickers. He gave him all the time he needed to get comfortable (snicker’s friendship will not be rushed!!! 😂) and by the end they were going on long walks. David may have even taken better care of Snickers than we do!

We’ve relied on Joanna many times now to care for our dog and cat, and having someone we trust this much makes being away so much easier. She’s attentive to their individual needs and always reaches out when there’s a detail I’ve missed or something worth clarifying. We have so much peace of mind knowing they’re in her care 🤗

This was our first time leaving our dogs with Vivian and she was wonderful! Our dogs really connected with her, including one that's a bit on the shy side. She left our home in great shape, is incredibly responsive, and sent photos and updates along the way that put my mind at ease. Highly recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred College Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in College Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in College Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
