“Holly is a brilliant sitter! Looked after my dog like she was her own, plenty of updates throughout my time away, and left the house neat and tidy. Thanks Holly!”

“Fantastic dog sitter! Great communication, reliable, and very caring. Our dogs were happy and well taken care of, and we loved receiving updates while we were away. Highly recommend and will definitely use their services again! Thank you Deloris!”

“Erica has quickly become our big guy’s new best friend! She is great with our pups, filling their high needs of love and attention, and sends regular updates while we’re away.”

“Mark was amazing with our dog, going above and beyond with him when we were out of town. We have a high energy dog and mark took him on several long walks. He was really great about sending photos too! And he took great care of our cat , checking on her multiple times . We look forward to working with him again soon!”

“Niani took exceptional care of our two pups and home. She was patient with our anxious girl and handled medications with no issues. Highly recommend her! She’ll be at the top of our list for future trips!”

“Michaela stayed with our Lab for three days, and she was wonderful all around. She was prompt and extremely communicative (and shared lots of pics). She walked our dog frequently, and when he created a couple of issues (ha), she handled it great, kept us in the loop, and went above and beyond with cleaning up (laundry, dishes, etc) and generally left the place looking nicer than before she arrived : ). I would absolutely recommend Michaela!”

“Very responsive, asks good questions and is flexible and very loving to my senior babies. My normally kiddish pup immediately engaged with her and was at ease. Thank you so much for caring for my babes!”

“Alayza is a dog whisperer! She’s amazing, kind and patient. My dog has big stranger danger and fear aggression when meeting someone new and it seems he warmed up to her pretty quickly. By the second day he was cuddling with her and letting her pet him! I highly recommend Alayza!”

“Shannon was great and took really good care of Lady! She sent pictures and was very communicative the whole time. I could tell she really cared for Lady while she watched her.”

“Randy watched my pup at my place, and I highly recommend him! My dog is anxious and sometimes goes on hunger strikes while I’m away, and Randy was watchful of him to make sure he was eating. Randy was communicative with several rounds of photos throughout each day, and he was respectful of my home while staying with my pup. Great experience!”

“Lindsey is amazing and was a life saver for our entire family! Our dog does not do well out of her element and we had to go away for 4 days. Lindsey, sent pics, videos, cute messages, and reassuring notes for us that made us feel at ease. And, most importantly, Hershee was happy!”

“Keisha saved our Christmas plans! When our sitter canceled last minute, it was such a relief when Keisha was so willing to do a same-day meet and greet, and stay with my elderly dog for the week of Christmas. She was responsive the whole time, and we returned to a happy dog and clean house. She even treated Marley to a Christmas present, which was so sweet!”

“Brianna was great. She gave me updates and communication was quick and easy. My cats and dog loved her. I was able to enjoy my vacation without a worry!”

“Ada was amazing!! This was my first time using the App and she made me feel so comfortable. She agreed to a meet and greet prior to my house sitting dates and my dogs loved her instantly. She was very communicative and kept me informed on everything. As this was my first time leaving my babies with anyone outside of family, we were all a bit nervous and hoping this was a good match. My mom even checked in with Ada and she was totally cool with. My mom and dog both have dogs and we are pretty certain Ada has 3 new clients. Ada maintained my home wonderfully. She really was patient with and understanding and I would recommend her 10/10, especially for new clients.”

About: Leaving your pet with someone else is a big deal — you want to know they're safe, loved, and in good hands. That's what I'm here for. I've been around animals my whole life, from my own pets growing up to regularly caring for friends' cats/pups as an adult, plus 3 years of pet sitting through Trusted Housesitters. I'm used to stepping into a pet's routine and making sure they feel comfortable the whole time their people are away. Right now isn't the right time for me to have a pet of my own, so caring for yours is something I genuinely look forward to. I have a real soft spot for older dogs, but I'm just as happy with energetic pups who need to burn off steam. Whatever your pet needs — a long walk, medication assistance, a game of fetch, zoomies release or just some couch time — I'll meet them where they are. If you're looking for someone who'll treat your pet like their own, I'd love to meet you both! I work full time from home, which means I'm around and flexible throughout the day — not tied to a 9-to-5 that keeps me away for long stretches. I can easily fit in walks, drop-ins, or playtime between meetings, and I'm also open to house sitting or overnight stays when needed. Because I'm home so often, I can usually accommodate last-minute bookings too. When in your home, your pet's comfort and safety come first! More than happy to follow any safety measures that help keep your pet safe and happy.
“Alexa took great care of our dog Penny and our house. Penny isn’t an easy dog and she developed trust with her and kept her calm during fireworks and thunderstorms. Highly recommend!”

“Emerald helped us out in a big way when another pet sitter we had needed to drop because of a family emergency two days before our trip. We were able to get ahold of Emerald and get everything squared away to pet site for us the day before we left. She took amazing care of our pets and house.”
“Taylor was fabulous! She watched our two dogs at our house for a week and took excellent care of them. She communicated well and left the house in pristine condition. Overall, a wonderful experience!”

James was absolutely amazing! He house sat for us while we were away in Europe, and we truly could not have asked for a better person to care for our Rosie. He sent us pictures and videos throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind, and it was so clear that he and Rosie quickly became best friends. We came home to a happy, well-loved pup and are just so grateful for the care and attention he gave her. We feel incredibly lucky to have found James and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their fur baby!

Nile took excellent care of our dog Goose and our apartment while we were away for over a week. She was caring, responsive, and helpful throughout her stay. She sent us daily updates and even assisted with an apartment issue we had while we were gone. She left our apartment clean and Goose absolutely loved her! I would definitely book with Nile again and suggest her for any of your dog sitting needs.

Emerald helped us out in a big way when another pet sitter we had needed to drop because of a family emergency two days before our trip. We were able to get ahold of Emerald and get everything squared away to pet site for us the day before we left. She took amazing care of our pets and house.
My senior dog has a lot of medical and behavioral needs, and it’s hard for me to feel comfortable leaving him with a sitter. With Bria, not only did she seem to understand and love my old man, but she used her vet tech skills to administer all of his meds and closely monitor his respiratory rate. She flagged a heart failure episode early and worked with my dog’s cardiologist over the phone to adjust his mediation dosage to ensure he was stable while I was in flight. Bria’s expertise, reliable communication and nurturing personality were a godsend for my dog and me. I would definitely rebook and trust her implicitly. Would highly recommend, especially to go above and beyond for dogs with special needs.

We are so grateful for Mary-Allyn! She helped us out last minute and was so accommodating with our travel times. She was so good with our dog Daisy— took her for plenty of long walks and spent a ton of time with her. Daisy loves Mary-Allyn! We also appreciated her great communication and pictures from each day. We look forward to her sitting our dog again!

Shakeia is wonderful! My dog always has a great time with her while I’m gone for a week at a time. She doesn’t get stressed, anxious or destructive despite me being gone for a decent chunk of time. Shakeia and my pup have a ton of fun together, and it’s nice to know my dog is being taken care of and loved while I’m not there. Highly recommend Shakeia!

Kayla obviously cares deeply about pets. She checks in with me between bookings about Farah's welfare. Farah was sick this time, and Kayla kept in close touch about her symptoms. She also helped us out with running a sample to the vet and taking care of an issue for a guest in our Airbnb. She also soothed Farah when Farah was missing us. Our nervous Farah really likes Kayla's calm, loving presence.

Paige was amazing with our dogs! She sent us tons of pictures and was in communication with us the entire time she was with our pups. Paige could definitely tell how nervous I was to leave my pups with someone new and she helped ease my fears through this whole process. She was a respectful house guest and left our home neat and tidy. My pups love her and so do we. Will be booking all my future Rovers with her!!

Overall my experience with Justina was okay. There were communication issues on arrival. I set the arrival time for the booking to 6-10pm. By 10pm I had not heard any arrival update. It took over 30 minutes to get ahold of Justina, including calling the emergency support line and prepping to leave my event to go back home. The ultimate arrival was nearly 2 hours past the set arrival time and my dog’s walk window. I do understand there was a vehicle issue and that unexpected things happen but communication is key. I would have made this a 5-star review if I had just been kept informed prior to the late arrival. Aside from the arrival issue the rest of the weekend went smoothly. Justina completed all requested walks and feeds in addition to sending pictures during the day. She also left my home spotless and well cared for.

Anthony was the god-send in an urgent situation, coming on board with very short notice. Because of my situation, some of the usual steps were skipped. I didn't learn til the meet & greet that he had some long shifts at work, that required me to make additional arrangements to feed and walk the dogs on those days. In the past, rover responders have checked the needs and raised the question of whether their schedule matches my dog's needs before we get to meet & greet. Secondly, being clear about expectations/limits of pantry use would have served us both better. Finally, expectations that the fridge be left empty of the dog-sitters leftovers should have been expressed. Ultimately, my dogs were cared for. And I think Anthony is learning how to be a considerate in=home sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forest Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forest Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
