“Tia was great! Highly recommend. She was super thoughtful with my (anxious) dog and it was wonderful to be able to relax while traveling and know my pup was in safe hands. Will definitely book her again!”

About: I grew up with many pets. For example, I’ve had 6 birds, 3 hamsters, 1 dwarf gerbil, 1 leopard gecko, 2 cats, 2 dogs, and possibly more. I currently have 2 dogs. Both are rescues. Jasper is 2 years old and I’ve had him since he was about a month old if even that, and Raleigh who is 7 now. I’ve had her since she was 2. Aside from the doggy babies, I also currently have a brown anole that I took in from Florida. His name is Tommy and I’ve had him for 4 months now. He was a baby when I found him. I also have 2 fish, Gumball and Penny. I personally believe all animals are babies. I’ve also pet sit for family members before. I’m currently working part time and I’m not yet in school. I do have a lot of free time, and because I don’t live alone I have people home to help take care of my furry and scaled friends, where as some people may need some extra help that I’d be able to provide! I was raised right. I’m respectful, do not cross boundaries, and know better than to disrespect clients (human and animal, of course!) I’m a big empath, I love animals beyond comprehension. I’m a vegetarian that’s working my way to veganism if that can show you how empathetic I am. I also cry while watching Ratatouille. I love walking, I love talking to animals, I treat animals as if they are literal babies because they are just too cute!
“Jeannie is wonderful. She provides great communication and is super clean. My pups love her which helps me feel at ease when I have to travel. Thank you for all you do Jeannie!”

“Jeana is a gem! She took excellent care of our 3 dogs. She sent pics and updates throughout her stay. Very trustworthy and dependable. She’s our new “go-to” for dog sitting!”

“As always, I trust and appreciate Veronica and her daughter implicitly. My dogs are well loved and cared for and it’s so nice to know someone has an eye on the house too when we are gone.”

“This was our second time being lucky enough to have Lindsey stay in our home and take care of our dog Kona and it was wonderful. She provided plenty of updates, expertly dealt with Kona’s little quirks, and left our house in great shape. Thank you for everything!!!”

“Fantastic kitty sitter for our two snuggly kitties. Kim came and watched our home and our cats for 2+ weeks while we traveled abroad. She was extremely responsive and communicative during the trip, letting us know how everyone was doing. Upon our return our house was very clean and tidy, kitties were happy and looked well taken care of. We could not have been more thankful for her taking such great care of everything. I would highly recommend her and her adorable puppy!”

“Kathryn did an amazing job with our pups. She sent great updates including photos and videos. This helped us feel so much better about leaving them. Our house was left in perfect condition. Will absolutely use her again.”

“Jhonathan was great! This was my first time leaving my dog with anyone but my parents. He made me feel comfortable leaving Bruno alone with him for a full day. Overall amazing!”

“Tara did an excellent job caring for our two senior dogs. They both take medication and she followed the directions exactly, making sure they both got what they needed and on time. She also sent us lots of videos and photos which was super helpful. We were gone for 3 weeks and we were able to relax knowing that our dogs were in good hands. I think she actually took better care of them than we do. Don't hesitate to book Tara for your next trip, especially if you have special needs or older dogs. Communication was great and she left the house in good shape for our return. I recommend Tara without reservation and I would definitely book her again for our next trip.”

“Carly was great. She stayed in our home for week and took care of our pup. She kept us updated throughout the booking. Our pup was happy and well taken care of when we returned. We would recommend Carly and will be booking with her again!”

“Xavier has watched my pet Mojo twice now and I could not be happier with the experience. From our very first meeting, his professionalism, warmth, and genuine love for animals were incredibly clear. I highly recommend Xavier because of his fantastic communication. Xavier sent daily photo updates and quick text check-ins, keeping me completely stress-free while I was away. He followed all of Mojo’s dietary and relief routine with no issues. My home was left completely spotless, organized, and secure. Mojo is a naturally anxious pet due to his separation anxiety but warmed up to him almost instantly, which speaks volumes about his gentle demeanor.”

“Haley was super responsive and did a wonderful job pet sitting two poms. One of the poms is a little anxious and I was super impressed that he liked Haley right away. Would book again!”

“Tenisha did a great job with my senior dog. Good communication throughout my time away. She was able to administer his medication twice a day. Very reliable. My dog was very relaxed when I got home. Highly recommend! Thanks Tenisha.”

“Sam was a huge help to us by housesitting at the last minute! We felt completely at ease knowing that our beagle was in caring hands while we were away. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend Sam to all our friends!”

Kristal took great care of our two dogs, a senior dog and a five year old vocal velcro dog, and of our home while we were away. She accepted the booking on extremely short notice and was very accommodating in scheduling a meet and greet within one day of us reaching out to her. She was very communicative and sent lots of photos. I would definitely recommend Kristal to any pet parent.

OMG, Xavier was amazing! My fur baby met him and liked him right away. She's a big girl and a rescue dog. She looks very intimidating and can be but overall she's a sweetheart. He took great care of her and sent pictures of how things were going. I would leave her with him again without question. I will recommend Xavier to friends and family.

Aiyana was absolutely wonderful with Janie! She stayed at our house for several days and took such great care of her. We felt completely comfortable knowing Janie was in such good hands, and Aiyana did a great job keeping us updated while we were away. She was responsible, communicative, and clearly gave Janie lots of love and attention. We came home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for house. We would absolutely have Aiyana watch Janie again!

The average cost for House Sitting in Friendly on Rover is $99.9 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 9,771 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Friendly. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Friendly walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Friendly maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Friendly choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
